Inovacao – Lina Bo Bardi
Lina Bo Bardi is an Italian-born Brazilian who is well known for a multitude of reasons, from her innovative architectural designs, by being a significantly influential figure in the world of literature, as well as being a talented future designer. Inovação Is an architectural exhibition created by Ivanna Williams to showcase and explore how Lina Bo Bardi uses different techniques and styles to challenge standard categorisation in architecture. Due to her being a Brazilian she tends to incorporate her Brazilian culture, social responsibilities, and environmental sustainability into her designs.
By frequently including natural elements and materials, Bo Bardi was quickly deeply recognised by her local community, culture, and environment. She encountered different opportunities for cultural renewal which allowed to receive new partnerships which would allow her to execute her long-time ideas of having to authenticate designs and architecture, as she a strong believer that architecture should help the community as well as improve people’s lives.
The Glass House.
While built on silts and transparency, the rear end of the of the house is closed off and resting on a terrene, she uses the transparent section for the public as it comes in contact with the natural environment, whereas the uses the cover areas of the house to place private sectors of the house which includes the bedrooms and bathrooms. The glass house is an example of how Bo Bardi incorporates the surrounding natural landscapes into modern architecture, which is one of her main methods of designing
“Architecture and architectural freedom are above all a social issue that must be seen by from inside a political structure, not from outside it.” – Lina Bo Bardi
Lina Bo Bardi often features open design spaces in order to explore on her concept of flexibility, engagement and interaction, as well as to create a connection to the outdoors. As an example of this is the SESC Pompéia Cultural Centre which is placed around the central courthouse. This

Bo Bardi believed in experimenting with different materials designing spaces that were not only functional but focuses of people’s wellbeing, however, although this is not a designed space, it is functional tool that can help not only people but as well as the environment

Design process:
In order to create the structure of the table, I glued sticks together. I then cut up some plastic and glued in onto the sticks to create the glass illusion on every side of the table except for the bottom. Instead of the plastic on the bottom I places a square wood and glued some moss as a representation of the natural plants .
