A visual storyteller born in 1991
In Manila, Philippines, Ivan Kim works as a designer and a licensed professional teacher. He has experience coordinating events and designing interiors for homes and businesses. He works as an instructor at the academy, teaching design classes, and is currently an active member. In 2016, the Design Center of the Philippines (CITEM) recognized him as a Top 10 Semi-finalist in the home accent category of their Red Box Design Talents design competition. Being a flexible designer, he feels that every place or venue has unique qualities that should be accentuated with a particular style that best captures its essence and beauty.
Ivan was reared in Bulacan, Philippines, after being born in Quezon City on September 21, 1991. He was exposed to artrelated pursuits like performing arts and sketching throughout elementary and high school. In addition to earning his degree in Graphics Technology with a major in Architecture Technology from college in 2013, he also completed his 18 units of education at the Technological University of the Philippines in 2018. During his time in college, he picked up new abilities and learned various approaches that aided in the beginning of his profession as a designer. Ivan had been a professional for a number of years, working as a freelancer in technical drawing, digital visualization, and product development for several organizations. He had the opportunity to work on the interior design of some well-known figures and celebrities while he was employed at a design firm. These included Vice Ganda, a wellknown comedian in the Philippines, Rachel Arenas, the former chairperson of the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board in the Philippines, etc. He made the decision to change course and pursue a career in teaching arts and design for senior high school students in the year 2018. He began teaching design classes at his alma institution in 2020. He continues to appreciate his work as a teacher and practice design as of right now.
