Richard Ballantyne (’75) A choir member during his school days, it is no surprise that Richard Ballantyne is the Vice-President of Victoria Chorale where he sings bass and performs four major concerts each year.
Andrew Cassin (‘89) Andrew Cassin recently published his first book, On Your Terms: 101 Ways to Prepare a Business For Sale or Succession. Andrew joins two other alumni author peers from Class of 1989 – Mark Squirrell 'From Arafat to Everest', and Dr Andrew Wake The ‘Good Enough’ Parent. We encourage all alumni authors to get in touch with the Development Office for inclusion in the Alumni Author Series in 2016.

Jaxon Merritt (‘09) Jaxon Merritt has secured an Olympic position for our country at the canoe slalom World Championships in London. This placed Australian in the top 15 nations, cementing Australia's position at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games. We wish Jaxon well as he prepares for the selection trials to be held in Sydney in early 2016.
Peter Parker (‘89) Osteopath Peter Parker established the not-for-profit registered charity ‘Upstanding Kids’ this year and embarked on an awareness and fundraising campaign in August riding for six days and covering 578km across Pilbara, Western Australia to install 15 standing desks at Roeburne District High School where indigenous students will reap the health benefits. Richmond Tigers player Ben Lennon was named Rising Star for Round 22 of AFL Football this year.
Patrick Holcombe ('04) and Jordan White ('08) Three years in the making, Cathedrals is the debut album from Melbourne folk-pop quintet Playwrite including Patrick Holcombe (’04) and Jordan White (‘08). Recently released, this diverse and powerful work was crafted with producer Jimi Maroudas (Kimbra, Eskimo Joe, Bertie Blackman) and brings together eleven songs spanning the band’s evolution over the past five years. http://www.playwriteband.com/merch/cathedrals
Alex Bolzan (‘04) Alex Bolzan relocated to St John’s Newfoundland (East Coast) for work and recently helped to start a local Aussie rules team - the St John’s Puffins. Professor Tom Romberg (‘57) Prof Tom Romberg (’57) retired in September 2014 as Chairman of Engineers Australia Southern Highlands and Tablelands Regional Group. Tom’s career was in the broad landscape of engineering with involvement in nuclear, mechanical and electrical engineering. Tom enjoys cycling 12km most days into the hinterland near Bowral where he now lives and plays an important role with the Hume Coal Water Advisory Group to ensure that best practice engineering standards are applied to major projects. Michael Weller ('45) A most welcome visitor to the School recently was Michael Weller, School Captain 1945. Michael, who resides in Vancouver, was accompanied by three of his four daughters and also intends to visit his brother Brian (‘47) who lives in South Australia. Both boys were Yea Boarders. Michael writes 'It was great to see how Ivanhoe has developed both in facilities and in the approach to the process of educating young minds and helping them to grow.'
Scott Curatolo (‘00) Scott Curatolo opened café Mister Peebles this year and encourages members of the School family to pop in for a coffee or bite to eat when in the area. Special mention to designer Matt John (‘00) of The Anatomy for his work for Mister Peebles. OIGA
