在台灣牡蠣分布在西部的沿岸地區,而牡蠣養殖的工作模式大致分為兩種:需涉水以及 站立於棚架上。致力於減少甲板與蚵棚間移動貨物的高度差距,打造一台能夠減少人力 搬運消耗的載具,並使用100%的電力能源。
Taiwan’s western coast fosters oysters via submersion or rack suspension farming. Innovations target an electric vehicle to cut manual handling, bridging height gaps between decks and oyster racks. This aims to streamline operations, reducing labor and enhancing efficiency in oyster farming for improved sustainability.
01 設計背景 DESIGN BACKGROUND
Oyster farming involves frequent transitions between rafts and racks, hindered by their height difference. 牡蠣養殖在整個階段需要多次的來回從竹筏到棚架再回來的這個過程,而不方便之處便在於需要跨過竹筏邊緣 和棚架的高度差。
01-1 牡蠣的養殖方式 The cultivation methods of oysters

台灣西部的養殖方式分為垂吊式(俗稱站棚仔)、平掛式(俗稱倒棚仔)和浮棚式。前兩者皆是先挑選較大的蚵 殼當母殼鑽孔,再用繩子將母殼串成「蚵串」,分別以垂直和水平將蚵串綁在蚵架上。而浮棚式則是讓蚵架長期 浮在海上,也造就牡蠣更快的生長速度。
In western Taiwan, oyster farming involves suspended (“hanging racks”), horizontal (“inverted racks”), and floating rack styles. The first two select larger oyster shells as mother shells, drill holes, string them into “oyster strings” using ropes, then bind these strings vertically or horizontally onto oyster racks. The floating rack method fosters faster oyster growth by allowing racks to float long-term in the sea.

竹筏長久以來一直為從岸邊抵達棚架以及運送牡蠣的交通載具,不過不管是收集牡蠣還是將貨物下載至岸邊, 都存在諸多的不方便之處,而我認為的新設計變是消弭這些落差使得更完善。
The bamboo raft, long been used to travel between shore and oyster racks and transport cargo, presents inconveniences during oyster collection and shore unloading. The new design aims to eliminate these gaps for a more seamless operation.

衝浪板在初始製作的過程中需要切割泡棉才來製作板芯以及後續打磨板面,因此會在空間中漫揚 著粉塵,對製板師來說屬於一種職業傷害。吸塵衝浪板製板架的設計訴求就是在切削衝浪板支撐 板身的同時,立即將粉塵以最快的速度吸除。
The process of creating a surfboard involves cutting foam to shape the board’s core and subsequently sanding the board’s surface, which generates airborne dust particles. This poses a professional hazard for board makers. The design concept of a vacuum-assisted surfboard shaping rack aims to support the surfboard during cutting while immediately extracting dust at the fastest rate possible.

在削板階段需要不斷的使用機器打磨發泡材,此 時粉塵會主要從刨機排粉口和底部噴出,充斥在 工作室之中。
During shaping, constant machine sanding of foam generates dust mainly from the planer’s exhaust and base, filling the workshop.
衝浪板製板師會根據客戶需求設計板子,負責的部分從選擇材料、切割和塑形板、安裝泡沫芯、加強結構、塗 布纖維玻璃布和樹脂...等。會依據不同衝浪風格和波浪情況調整板子的性能,同時也包括檢查和修復現有的 板子。
Surfboard shapers customize boards according to client preferences, overseeing tasks ranging from material selection, cutting, shaping, installing foam cores, reinforcing structures, applying fiberglass cloth and resin, among others. They tailor the board’s performance based on diverse surfing styles and wave conditions, also involving inspections and repairs of existing boards.

目前衝浪板製板工作室所使用的的吸塵用具大多類似具有長條吸塵管的吸塵器,所產生的問題是佔用空間以及 妨礙工作,所以我產出了結合製板架的想法,並將粉塵吸至內部儲塵槽。
Surfboard shaping studios commonly use vacuum equipment with long hoses, which occupies space and disrupts work. To address this, I conceived the idea of integrating a dust collection system into the shaping rack to directly gather dust into an internal compartment.

Fínn 是一件專為老年人設計的防風加熱背心,預防在冬天的時候,因為浴室和房間之間的溫 度冷熱差引發心血管疾病。
Fínn is a vest designed for the elderly people to cover their body, while they exit the bathroom. It is expected to prevent the possibility of cardiovascular disease caused by the temperature change between the bathroom and the livingroom during the winter may rise.
溫度差變化 Temperature Difference
當溫度降低時人的血壓自然會升高,也代表有更高的 機會得到心血管疾病。透過天氣預報可以了解室外的 溫度變化,然而家居的溫度差是人們容易忽略的。
Blood pressure is normally higher in cold season,which is related to the possibilty of the cardiovascular disease . Outdoor temperature changes would be concerned by daily weather forecast, however the indoor temperature changes are in different cases.
穿脫難題 Difficulty of dressing up
在中醫的領域中,氣溫驟降會使得身體產生各類疾 病,其中以頸部、肚臍、背部、膝蓋、腳掌為最不 能受冷的部位。
Due to the knowledge of traditional chinese medicine, some parts of our body would cause a few symptoms when they being under cold.
當人的年紀漸漸增長後,移動力與靈巧度會同是降低。關節處會變得沒有彈性與更為僵硬,這導致他們的生活 增加許多的不方便性,也包刮在穿衣服的時候。
When people get older, the mobility and dexerity would decease at the same time. The joints become less flexible and stiffer, which would cause problem during the daily tasks, including putting on clothing.
如何保留熱能 How to keep the heat
衣服中使用了兩種不同的材質,在外層使用防風材質,內層使用保溫的布料。兩層布料之中再置入 了充電式的加熱墊,如此便能達成徹底的保留熱能。
Two kinds of fabric are used, which are trench coat for the outer and thermal underwear beside the skin. Also, a heating pad is inserted between two fabric layers. The purpose is to be windproof and to keep the heat from the body at the same time.

當我在思考這件背心究竟應該要有什麼樣的外觀時,腦海中閃過各種不同樣式的服飾,然而,最重 要的核心就是要讓它有著不同於醫療器材的樣貌,如此老年人便不會對於穿著它感到羞恥。
When I go through the process of thinking how the vest should look like, however, there many different kinds of styles come into my mind. The main idea is to make it look fashionable, so that the elderly wouldn’t be afraid of wearing it because afraid of wearing medical device.
研究無障礙服裝 Research of self-adapting clothing
近期越來越多的時尚品牌將注意力放到殘疾人士的需求,推出了一系列的無障礙服裝,其中使用了 魔鬼氈或者磁鐵代替在一般款式中的拉鍊,至於外觀則並無差別。
Recently a few brands in the fashion industry have published their new branches for disabilities. Using velcro or magnetic zipper inside of the clothes would make them look same just as we are.

Retro football shirts are currently on the trend and I think it is a suitable moodboard for the outlook of vest, because they are both fashion and functional, which perfectly matches my core idea.
在製作草模的階段,我嘗試許多方法來使得衣物可以束緊在上半身。束扣是其中一 個當初的方案,優點在於可以簡單讓布料貼於人身上,不過因為在脫去時會讓年長 者不易操作而放棄了這個方向。
At the beginning stage of my prototype , I've tried different ways to tight up the clothing on the body. Cord lock was a nice option, when we put on the clothing, however it may not be easy enough for the elderly to take off.
