Here's the iconic “Picnic Table” story; where my journey with pageantry and the road to finding my own unique purpose began years ago. After a morning of tennis with my teammates, my friend Joni asked me about the work that my husband, Ted, and I were doing to raise awareness and funds for a gala event through The Scott Center for Autism at Florida Institute of Technology here in Melbourne, Florida where our son, Brendan, attended for early intervention therapies She had been following publications about the event and applauded us for stepping up to make a difference; I was honored and thankful for her kind words Joni then asked me if I had ever thought about pageantry as an avenue to expand my advocacy work I must have looked at her like she had three heads! I immediately asked, “You mean they have pageants for married women?” She smiled and said, “Yes they do ” I was intrigued As a child in the South, pageantry was part of my upbringing. My mother had started me at a very young age singing and dancing on stage and taking part in pageants, and I absolutely loved it. As a teen, sports became my passion, but I continued to watch pageants every year on television, and admired the confident, courageous, well spoken women on stage. That day while sitting with Joni at the picnic table, I had a moment a switch flipped and I knew I would never be the same I cried knowing that I would have to tackle many fears, go places in my mind, and overcome many obstacles to become the woman I was being called to be Somehow, I knew at once that pageantry was going to be the spark that set a fire within my soul and empowered me to be the leader that I needed to be to make profound change for our son, our family, and others touched by autism and special needs

I love sharing the International Pageant mission because I have been forever changed and shaped by it. For years, I studied the Mrs. International titleholders; inspired by their personal stories, service work, and leadership. These are the women that inspired me to begin a partnership with the International Pageant organization as a titleholder, and why I will always consider it HOME.

My journey through pageantry has been like everything in my life; a marathon, not a grew, made new friends, connected with industry professionals that inspired and uplif to new levels Even if I did not take home the crown, I won, nonetheless, because I while building a beautiful legacy of service alongside my husband and family I believe in God’s timing for all things Faith is a powerful thing; a true gift from God If you ask me what gets me through the tough times, what keeps me motivated to keep trying and never give up, it is FAITH One step at a time, one day at a time believing in myself and knowing that I am not alone, that I am on the right path, and that I am here for a reason I share this story for those women who need to hear it I have the sincerest gratitude for all who have helped, supported, and cheered me on during this journey, especially Ted, both of our children, Brendan and Carson, my family, friends, and the Parker Foundation community I am so thankful to the Mrs International pageant, to Mary and Mel Richardson, and to their team for the opportunity to “make a difference” alongside their sponsors, partners, and my sister queens Being a part of the legacy that “celebrates the accomplishments of today’s married women” is an honor beyond compare!

I also want to give a sincere thank you to the judging panel for their time. I know it is not an easy process, especially with this amazing group of women! Thank you to the city of Kingsport, TN for embracing us for the past few years and for rolling out the red carpet every time we visit. My family and I have enjoyed making memories in your beautiful mountain town, and I have enjoyed serving in your community.

The legacy I wish to build as a woman and a titleholder is twofold First, to create a safer, kinder, more inclusive and accepting world for children and families touched by autism and special needs; families like my very own And second, to empower women to shine bright and shine together by fearlessly embracing their unique purpose; to make a positive impact in their communities through a cause close to their hearts I want to show the world the strength that comes from overcoming adversity, the joy that comes from using our talents and gifts to serve others, and the power of uplifting one another and working together as a team. ~ Melissa Parker, Mrs. East Coast International 2022.

Promote teamwork for all, by leading our three fully funded, inclusive/adaptive Parker Foundation programs: Speak Through Sports, Speak Through Arts, and Speak Through Education; alongside our state, national, and global partners Share our Be a Buddy Initiative for networking, inclusion, mentorship, and bullying prevention Advocate for increased federal funding for global autism research, resources, and programs as an Autism Speaks Advocacy Ambassador. Empower women everywhere to shine bright and shine together by sharing their unique stories and by using their special talents and gifts to make a positive impact through my #TogethernessTeam Podcast and social media initiative. #IIM I’ve always known my heart is for service. The oldest of 6 children from a military family, I learned early on the importance of being a part of a team. From soccer to Girl Scouts, whether it was working together to achieve a goal, or gaining fast friends to ward off bullies at school when my father was transferred to another based, I’d later learn these experiences were preparing me for something much bi gger because for some, being a part of a team is not an easy option, as I’d come to find as a special needs parent. As a Registered Nurse, I noticed the signs; praying he might outgrow them. Instead, our son was struggling; he became more and more distant, and Ted and I were confused and felt lost and alone. He needed more specialized care, and we needed support. Our lives changed forever when Brendan was diagnosed with autism at the age of 4. Our journey through autism has shown me my life’s purpose: to use my passion and experience to bring people TOGETHER to create a kinder, safer, more inclusive world for our son and other individuals and families touched by autism and special needs. When our son was diagnosed in 2010, statistics were 1:110 children were diagnosed with autism; today it’s 1:44 As statistics continue to climb, it’s imperative that we meet the growing needs of children and families impacted by autism by increasing funding for research, resources, and building inclusive programs To answer the call, Ted and I founded our nonprofit, THE PARKER FOUNDATION, in 2015 to use sports, arts, and education as avenues to enhance the lives of, and bridge the gap between, children and famili es touched by autism and the world in which we live. Bringing people of all backgrounds and abilities TOGETHER is our mission, so that everyone feels included and accepted in their community with the opportunity to reach their full potential in life!

Over 25 million men, women, and children are being trafficked worldwide, and that number continues to grow at an alarming rate of nearly 5 million people each year. Human trafficking has always existed, but with the shift into the information age, and the rapidly growing era of technology we now live in, the horrific crime of Human Trafficking has become more accessible and dangerous.

“As a protective mother of four, my maternal energy is the driving force behind my passion to protect the innocence of the hurting and broken teenagers who have become the victims of Human Trafficking.”

s a wife, mother, and International Titleholder, I am a passionate advocate in the fight against Human Trafficking. My platform, Operation HandPrint; turning victims into survivors, is all about preventing the powerful from exploiting the vulnerable.

Operation HandPrint will raise up leaders in our communities by connecting you with organizations in your area who are helping victims of Human Trafficking become survivors and by providing you with the education you need to have the conversations that work toward preventing future victims of Human Trafficking.

As a protective mother of four, my maternal energy is the driving force behind my passion to protect the innocence of the hurting and broken teenagers who have become the victims of Human Trafficking. Through my platform, Operation HandPrint, we are preventing the powerful from exploiting the vulnerable, just like these teenagers, by working together to expose the tactics of traffickers and to eliminate the vulnerabilities that make victims easy prey for traffickers. Operation HandPrint is a collation designed to empower victims by transferring the power from traffickers back into the “hands” of the victims and survivors, and we can accomplish this by meeting the needs of the vulnerable right where they are!

The average age that a person is enslaved to Human Trafficking is 13 I look at our four children living in a loving home, safe and secure, without a care in the world, full of self confidence, knowing who they are, and knowing their worth But, in that same moment, I am also reminded of the teenagers that will never get to experience the life our children have The teenager desperately longing to experience a home full love and acceptance, craving just a moment of peace in the midst of their turmoil, constantly worrying about what will become of them, full of self doubt, feeling powerless and abandoned

The International Pageant system is an organization with integrity and incomparable ethical standards, maintaining the highest level of moral AvaluessMrs Southeast International, these are the same standards I try to live each and every day by I am called to serve God’s people and become His hands and feet here on this earth. My greatest desire is to fulfill His will over my life and to utilize every opportunity He places before me "to make a difference" in the lives of others. Which is why I chose to become a part of the living legacy of the International Pageant TsystemheInternational Pageant system not only celebrates my accomplishments as a married woman, but they also celebrate my marriage and commitment to my family, becoming an entire family affair! By providing me with the opportunity to work WITH my husband, we are continuing our work to make a difference in everything we do! This journey isn’t just my journey, it is OUR journey together as a FAMILY. As we are working together, as a husband and wife team and a family unit, supporting each other’s dreams, passions, and goals, our vision is to show the world the LOVE of God, to serve His people, and to raise up a generation of young people hungry to make a difference in this world! As Mrs. International 2022, I will continue to work vigorously through Operation HandPrint and through my partnership with Hope Found to end Human Trafficking once and for all and to provide a new beginning and a hopeful future for those who have become victims of traffickers; turning victims into survivors I believe that each and every human being placed upon this earth has a divine spark inside of them; a unique and distinct quality that sets them apart As Mrs International 2022, I want to celebrate the real and authentic divine spark in every woman, inciting a movement that embraces each and every woman right where they are, encouraging them to walk in the fullness of who they were truly created to be! With or without a crown, my personal calling and mission in life stays the same; to stand up against Human Trafficking and to be a light in the darkness, fighting the fight against Human Trafficking by providing hope, strength, and freedom for those who have been victimized by traffickers because no one's life should EVER be for sale! #IIM I'm International Magazine

ENDING through ADVOCACY is something everyone can do! As a society, it is our responsibility to stand up for those who are being victimized. WE are the SOLUTION WE are what each victim, controlled and manipulated by a trafficker, is waiting for! There has never been a more important and urgent time in history than NOW to be a light in the darkness and to provide hope, strength, and freedom for those who have been victimized by traffickers. NOW IS THE TIME for us to come together and fight the fight against Human Trafficking NOW IS THE TIME for this platform to become center stage; to use our voices to spread a louder message; igniting a wave of education and conversations

Fighting the fight against Human Trafficking is bigger than one person; it takes an army of leaders and a collation with the same mission working together to combat the enemy on every front By RESPONDING through EDUCATION, we are connecting parents, teachers, and leaders in the community with tangible educational tools needed to truly understand the warning signs of Human Trafficking

Because of this education, we are able to begin focusing on PREVENTING through CONVERSATIONS By encouraging and initiating these hard conversations with our children and youth, we are working to equip them with everything they need to better understand the tactics and exploitation methods traffickers use to gain new victims; ultimately, preventing future victims from happening

When we first started trying to expand our family and were among the one in eight couples struggling with infertility, we stopped making major plans, including far off travel plans The “what ifs” were just too daunting What if I am due then? Would I want to travel that far? Is that a suitable location to take a baby? After more than a year, we accepted the realization that not everything can be planned; a concept easy for some to accept but more difficult for me, as I am a type A personality We made plans to visit Bora Bora and other islands in French Polynesia as both a dream trip and a welcome distraction A few months after we booked our trip, we finally saw the two pink lines we had been hoping and praying for. We were overwhelmed with joy. We were well into our second trimester as we were packing for our trip and our medical team gave us the all clear to go on what I now referred to as our “babymoon.” We were confident all was well, having heard his heartbeat many times, including on the eve of our departure.

We were in paradise, enjoying the warm ocean, and seeing incredible sea creatures, including a humpback whale with her calf I still remember as I witnessed such beauty in that moment that I held on to my little bump with gratitude that I too was a mom

I

Toward the end of our trip, I just did not feel right Although I could not quite put my finger on it, the doctor later attributed it to mother’s intuition We went to a clinic on the island To this day, the sounds of the clinic monitors, the worry, grief, and sadness on my husband's face and the doctor mouthing the words “I am sorry the baby is gone” remain as vivid reminders of our loss However, in that moment I could not, or simply would not, comprehend the words he was saying I was in denial that we had lost our son, Charlie The next week continued to be a blur Once I was physically healed and we traveled back home, I could finally begin my mourning process, although I honestly did not know where to begin. So, I started by writing down all of my questions, feelings, and thoughts. I really struggled with the limited resources available when I so longed for answers. My doctor did not have many answers either, but was so encouraging in his assessment that we had a less than one percent chance of losing another child in the second trimester. It was with that hope, along with our faith and love, that we tried again. consider myself the typical modern woman one who wears many hats and sometimes, a crown I am a wife, businesswoman, author, non profit founder, and the reigning Mrs DC International However, without a doubt, the most significant role I have ever had is that of mother I am the proud mother of four: Landon, an inquisitive eight year old, Elle a precocious six year old, and the two children we lost early in our marriage, Charlie and Lena, who are now our guardian angels. Let me rewind our story to the beginning, well almost to the beginning. My husband James and I fell in love under the stars in Peru in 2010, and since then we have shared our love of adventure and travel We have been fortunate enough to travel to over 35 countries the past 13 years

I'm International Magazine

Working with state and national legislators, as well as foundations including Nia Imani Choices, has been truly transformative. With the realization that even a single individual can effect change, I wanted to make an even larger contribution to such a profoundly personal cause. James and I were called to start our own 501(c)(3) non profit: Operation Little Angel 101: Hope After Loss. We wanted to help couples who are suffering in silence every day after the loss of a child. The angelic message of “101” is faith, strength, and hope. Our mission is to value and celebrate the life shortened by miscarriage, stillbirth, or early infant death, while honoring and supporting families in their grief We provide education, resources, and tangible cuddle boxes, or, as I like to call them, a warm hug when you need it most

Seeking a larger meaning for our experiences, I looked to what had always provided comfort for me, service to others Turning my pain into purpose not only proved extremely cathartic, but it also had a positive impact on my roles as a mother and a wife

Since I started sharing my story, I have met incredible women from around the US, thanking me for sharing my story and giving them the strength they needed to start telling theirs This inspired me to create a testimonial book with a dear friend entitled, “Mom.” This book is filled with heartfelt stories of our unique roads to motherhood, touching on important topics like infertility, secondary infertility, pregnancy loss, adoption, and surrogacy. Reaching a larger audience of women navigating the road to becoming a mom, now knowing they are not alone, has been an honor Providing a resource for husbands and extended family members to better understand what their loved ones are going through has proved to be equally rewarding.

Although I was genuinely happy for my friends, I was still secretly grieving Attending these events was so difficult In retrospect, I wish I had politely declined some, as I was just simply not ready I never imagined how long our journey would be to become parents, but I am so proud to be a mom of four: Landon, Elle and our two guardian Angels, Charlie and Lena

Unfortunately, for us we were met again with another tragedy when we lost our daughter, Lena Losing two children within sixteen months completely shattered our lives, especially mine During that time, our friends all seemed to have had babies I felt like I was at a baby shower every week, sitting in the back of the room with a stoic smile, sipping mimosas

As a board member for the CADE Foundation: Savannah Fund, we have worked tirelessly to help give the gift of life by providing financial grants to couples for IVF, egg donors, and surrogacy We have raised over $200,000 to date, helping to bring 10 beautiful babies into this world

It is so rewarding to see the joyous faces of new parents as they hold their precious newborns Working with the National advocacy group RESOLVE, I have used my voice for all Americans facing challenges in building families by lobbying on Capitol Hill, discussing important bills for consideration in both the US House of Representatives and the Senate These bills help families gain access to medical treatment, adoption, and surrogacy options Most recently, my efforts have been directed toward the stillbirth tax credit, which passed this spring in Connecticut I will not stop that effort until all 50 states and the District of Columbia pass similar laws

Reflecting on the past twelve years brings to mind a Steve Jobs quote: “Y can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them look backwards So, you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in y future ” Our road to becoming parents was never one James and I anticipat but my heart knows that both Charlie and Lena are proud of what we have d and will continue to do with their legacy. #IIM

My husband of 14 years has been my biggest supporter as I learned to manage my risk factors by losing weight and making healthy changes in my lifestyle Mike and I both learned so much about heart disease over the years, but two things made the biggest impact on me. I was surprised to learn that not only is heart disease the leading cause of death in women worldwide, but it claims the lives of more women than all forms of cancer combined. It’s certainly not just a “man’s disease.” But it was the knowledge that Living My Purpose pounds away from being classified as obese and had developed high cholesterol The fear of becoming a victim of heart disease was enough motivation for me to immediately commit to reclaiming my health that 80% of heart disease is preventable that compelled me to found Heart Warrior International, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with a mission of igniting a passion in women around the world to protect the hearts they love from heart disease…especially their own!

I know that my unique purpose in life is for every woman I reach to feel strong, beautiful, and cared for from the inside out To make that impact, I draw from my own experiences to meet women with empathy wherever they are in their own journey As a woman in my prime, it is a privilege to have a life full of learning and the ability to provide women of all ages with the support they need to thrive The most personal message I share with other women is that we each have the power within us to rewrite the narrative of our story and make life changing transformations. My career transformation from executive to esthetician was certainly an evolution of my professional life, but it is my health transformation that has continued to be even more meaningful and impactful.

The last 10 years have taken me on a powerful journey that has culminated in my involvement with International Pageants. When I was a young woman, heart disease wasn’t on my radar. Many of my close family members experienced cardiovascular issues, like heart attack, stroke, and aneurysm, but they were all men, so it wasn’t something I thought I needed to worry about. But I got a wakeup call in 2011 when a screening showed plaque blockage in my carotid arteries. After a traumatic event, I had neglected my health by making unhealthy food and lifestyle choices, and I gained 50 pounds in just 5 years. I was shocked when learned I was only 3 I’m Elexis Ryan, Mrs. Central States International 2022. I’m a relatable servant leader, a Heart Warrior, and proudly International! My adult life has revolved around understanding and fulfilling the needs of women I spent over 20 years in the fashion retail industry, working in the corporate offices of Victoria’s Secret, Bath & Body Works, and The Limited As Director of Merchandising and Planning, my goal was to provide women with apparel and beauty products that made them feel special and beautiful One of my favorite roles was working on the Victoria’s Secret International store expansion team, which gave me a first hand view of the differing fashion and style preferences of women around the world But while our aesthetic wishes may be different, I believe that in our hearts, women want to feel heard, understood, and cared for I eventually left the retail industry and became a licensed esthetician because I love working one on one with women to make them feel like they are shining their brightest I’ve always been fascinated by the ability of skincare and makeup to inspire confidence and lift spirits, and in 2017 I started my spa and beauty business, “Shine. The “I Am a Heart Warrior” pledge is at the core of my platform and Heart Warrior International’s mission. The pledge is a commitment that anyone can make to fight the battle against heart disease by managing risk factors, reacting to warning signs of a cardiovascular emergency, and learning life saving skills There are three key initiatives that continue to expand the reach of the Heart Warrior message The Heart Warrior Ambassador Program provides free CPR training kits to individuals who learn and share this important skill with their own family and friends As a registered nonprofit, Heart Warrior International funds this program through fundraising activities and corporate partnerships. I share my personal story in my “I Am a Heart Warrior” Presentations, while highlighting heart disease risk factors and warning signs As a Basic Life Support and CPR instructor with the American Heart Association, I am also able to provide hands on training opportunities Finally, Cardiac Collaborations let women explore grassroots, national, and international organizations that speak to their personal experiences or interests regarding heart disease, creating a connection that inspires involvement A community of Heart Warriors is growing across the US and around the globe! My family has been incredibly supportive and involved in this movement, especially as heart disease has impacted one of our youngest members My niece Aubrey was born in England in 2017 with a congenital heart defect and underwent 3 open heart surgeries before she was 15 months old Thanks to her amazing medical team, she’s flourishing, and we love watching her grow up When Mike and I travel back to the United Kingdom in the spring, I’ll be packing my crown and sash to represent International Pageants and Heart Warrior International at the next fundraising gala my family will be hosting to benefit the British Heart Foundation, whose work we are so grateful for Heart disease prevention is a global issue, and it’s never been more clear that our hearts urgently need protection

The Time Is Now If 2020 taught us anything, it’s that our health can be remarkably fragile, and that underlying conditions, like heart disease, make us more vulnerable to life threatening illness. We simply must be more intentional about safeguarding our health and giving our bodies a fighting chance to combat any unforeseen health crisis Heart Warrior International exists because we are not reliant on anyone else to transform our lives We don’t need to wait for the government, or for laws to be passed, or for resources to become available Real change in our hearts and our health starts in our own homes We can start right now by becoming Heart Warriors YOU can take the pledge today at www.heartwarrior.org/pledge! Now is the time to fight for our hearts, and after 10 years as a Heart Warrior and 3 years with International Pageants, I’m prepared to lead and serve women who will protect the hearts they love in their own families and communities Leaving an International Legacy Mary and Mel Richardson have created the premiere pageant for married women who are making a difference in the world. I’m International because I firmly believe in the values of integrity, community, family, and marriage that are the heart of International Pageants. This system has been such a perfect fit for me, my husband, and my platform that I have returned to compete for the third time While I’ve long considered myself an advocate for heart disease awareness and research, it has been my experience as an International titleholder that led to an evolution of my mission from advocacy to action I started this journey three years ago by simply raising awareness for a health risk I overcame But thanks to the support I continue to receive as a titleholder, my focus has shifted to authentically connecting with other women and their families, and to providing a tangible way to improve the quality of their lives and health I believe in the importance of the journey, and I’m grateful for the transformation I’ve experienced in myself and in my platform during my journey to Mrs. International My mission as Mrs International 2022 is to create Heart Warriors who commit to protecting their hearts from heart disease. But just as importantly, when I am remembered as a titleholder, I want my legacy to be how I made other women feel: beautiful, important, and empowered to make life changing transformations not only to their health, but to any aspect of their lives My experiences have uniquely prepared me to represent International Pageants as a brand ambassador whose year of service leaves a lasting impact on the lives and hearts of women I’m a relatable servant leader I’m a Heart Warrior I’m

Up until that point, we had shared our struggle to conceive with very few people What people don’t realize is that with infertility comes grief, and it's heavy. And, even though we hadn’t been diagnosed with infertility yet, even the smallest thought that we would not be able to have a family filled us with immense sadness and heartache. Not only were we devastated over the potential loss of the vision we had for our lives, but we were heartbroken for our parents who may not get to become grandparents, siblings, and friends who wouldn’t become aunts and uncles. While we never felt pressured by family and friends to start a family, we knew that they were hopeful for us and knew it was one of our desires in life Despite that, we chose not to share our struggle with many, as we wanted to avoid disappointing as many of those in our lives as possible if we were unable to resolve our infertility While deep down we knew that no one in our lives would be disappointed with us due to our inability to conceive, infertility warped our minds in that way That’s why keeping it a “secret” between John and me felt like the right thing to do After our initial meeting with a fertility specialist, the next few weeks were filled with every test imaginable. As each test result populated in our patient portal, I spent days googling every single result trying to understand if I could figure out our issue before we met with our doctor. After days of incorrectly self diagnosing, we finally met with our doctor to review all our results and get an explanation. “On paper, you should be able to have a baby ”

In all the years I had spent hoping and dreaming about my future family, I never anticipated that infertility would be something we would need to overcome to fulfill that desire to become parents After my husband John and I married in 2014, we were eager to grow our family After a year of trying on our own without success, we reached out to a specialist to understand what was preventing us from fulfilling our desires

From my doctor’s perspective, I think this statement was supposed to bring me some relief After one year of trying on our own without success, we fully expected to hear that there was some underlying cause for our inability to conceive As I heard this comment, I was filled with immediate sadness, anger, and disappointment. You never want to go to the doctor wanting to find out there is something profoundly wrong with the way your body works, but on this day, I so desperately wanted something specific. Some reason as to why we weren’t getting pregnant and move forward with the corresponding treatment plan. Our diagnosis: “Unexplained Infertility”; essentially there were no obvious signs that pointed to anything that would prohibit us from conceiving on our own In an instant, we were overwhelmed by our options to resolve our infertility, the financial cost, and the emotions we were still trying to process with our newfound diagnosis. Since we didn’t have anything specific holding us back from getting pregnant that needed to be corrected first, we could jump into treatment quickly. Our doctor recommended a two phased approach to treatment. However, neither treatment came with a guarantee. After experiencing it firsthand, I learned that infertility treatment is not a one size fits all approach While there are many common treatments with high success rates, there was no guarantee that one particular treatment plan was going to work for us

After that day, we took some time to do some research on what our diagnosis meant, along with the recommended treatment options Learning about our diagnosis made us feel more defeated than hopeful We did not plan to be infertile, and we did not have the money set aside for a medical bill like infertility We planned for the things that everyone planned for; a wedding, honeymoon, and buying our first home The high price tag for the more effective treatment options for us was equivalent to the down payment on the home we just purchased Although our treatment was medically necessary to become parents, our insurance didn’t see it that way We knew we would not have been able to afford it without financial help in some way The thought of taking out a personal loan, using credit cards, retirement savings, or borrowing money from family, left us feeling even more overwhelmed; we couldn’t believe at 28 years old we would be having to make a choice; financial security or starting a family

Since neither of us had significant underlying factors that were influencing our fertility, we decided not to move forward with IVF treatment immediately, which afforded us time to save if we needed to move to IVF and move forward with less expensive, but effective, treatment options

Even though we couldn’t say that we had resolved our infertility just yet, there was tremendous healing we found in just sharing our story up until that point and educating those in our life about what the experience was like It was through that healing that the idea of what would become the Pursuit of Rainbows was formed What many don’t know is that it IS possible to treat infertility 90% of infertility issues are curable, but treatment is often too expensive

P u r s u i t o f R a i n b o w s

At that time, I did not know of anyone personally who had or was going through infertility, and those who I shared with about our struggle, while they tried to understand and were supportive to us, there was more support I needed I needed to hear from someone just like me who was struggling I needed to know that grief, anger, jealousy, anxiety, and hopelessness were normal and common amongst people who suffer from infertility I needed to hear that it was okay to cry at every baby announcement or baby shower; I needed to hear a story just like mine. I remember the specific point in our journey where I felt like infertility beat me. The treatment plan we chose was unsuccessful after 3 attempts, and we were left feeling heartbroken and defeated. We weren’t where we needed to be financially to move forward with the more expensive treatment option and, truthfully, we were mentally and emotionally exhausted from the process. Infertility made me question my marriage, my value as a woman, and what I wanted out of life. I reached a point where I didn’t recognize myself anymore, I didn’t know how to talk about or think about anything other than my desire to have a baby and the fact that I couldn’t Infertility overtook me in a way and transformed me into a version of myself that I was not OK with becoming, I knew I wanted to be a mom, but I didn’t want to be a mom like that Deep down I knew what we both wanted and needed but neither wanted to be the first one to say it; we needed to take a break In a moment of exhaustion with our struggle, I said to John, “ we need to figure out how to live a fulfilled life with or without children ” We tied so much of our value as humans and our marriage to our ability to have children, and since that wasn’t happening we both felt lost and not sure where to go from that point on Despite not knowing where to go next, we knew what we wanted to accomplish; we wanted to change the conversation around infertility We began sharing our story with anyone h t d t h it W k story wasn’t unique, as 1 in 8 couples struggle with uples don’t always talk about their infertility

In many cases, it’s not covered by most insurance providers Like John and I, many couples are having to choose between financial security and growing their families. The thought that couples are having to make this choice made me want to do more; I believe every couple deserves to have an equal opportunity to build a family in whichever way they see fit This financial stress adds to the emotional burdens that already exist due to an infertility diagnosis My platform supports those couples who are on their own pursuit of rainbows in three ways First, we provide financial assistance with grant funding through my nonprofit, the Pursuit of Rainbows Foundation. Second, we advocate to increase access to covered care in all states through my partnership with Resolve, the National Infertility Association And third, we provide emotional support through my Stories of Hope sharing platform #IIM At any given time, there are roughly 7 million couples in the United States alone who have been impacted by infertility In 2020, John and I welcomed our rainbow baby, Andrew He is our greatest joy and the brightest ray of light in our lives, and we want others to experience that same joy I'm International Magazine

certified in various IT and Customer Service support capabilities. I work nowadays as a Service Delivery Advisor for Cargill. I am also an entrepreneur; I have my own brand of organic skin care products and fitness products: Focus, Fit & Fabulous. As you can imagine, I love to exercise every day: running, cycling, going to the gym, Pilates, Zumba, dancing, aerobics. On the opposite side, I love reading, painting, and gardening. I also enjoy hiking in the forest or walking on the Ibeach.metmy husband, Juan Carlos, 9 years ago. He is a blessing in my life, the best partner I could ever wish for to build a life together. I am so thankful for my husband! This man that I am privileged to live with has been an example of discipline, kindness, and commitment. He is a professional piano player, a super bikes racer, and he works as a supervisor. Last year he had a major accident and broke 6 bones on his leg, arm, and back. He went to physiotherapy and did everything that was instructed by the doctors and physicians, and now he is going to the gym, cycling, and riding bikes again; he is so persistent. We enjoy spending time with our family and friends, and he loves to barbecue for all of us. We have 2 bunnies that basically are the masters of the house. They live free walking/jumping all over the house. Reflecting on my motivations to enroll in the beauty pageants system, I always go back to my childhood. I went to Invu Las Cañas public primary school, which was next to the shanty town. I remember like it was yesterday. Some children arrived at school wearing a dirty uniform or shattered shoes. I know that some of them only had 1 meal per day; the one that they received at school. I also remember that even though many children were living that unfair reality, we all got the opportunity of studying. It comes to my mind the first time we went to the Computers Lab; a lot of 7 year olds were overjoyed with all the possibilities that it represented (this was one of the first computer labs in the country), or the first day when we started receiving English classes…we were just expanding our minds. My childhood taught me that not matter your background, everybody deserves the same opportunities to develop, and we are all equals. “I would like to be known as a person who is concerned about freedom, equality, justice and prosperity for all people.” ~ Rosa Parks I am proud and humbled to represent my beautiful country, Costa Rica, for the first time at the Mrs. International Pageant, and I hope that my story and my platform can inspire others to drive change and help others. I grew up in a home full of love with my mother, father, and my brother and sister; always visiting my grandmas. I have 2 big families: I have a total of 14 uncles and aunts and dozens of cousins. I have a nephew that I adore who is almost 2 years old, and my grandma is 96 years old. She is always ready to go out when I invite her to a family reunion or a trip. When I was very young, around 4 years old, I started singing and dancing and making choreographies for my friends in the neighborhood I was in latin music and folklore dancing groups throughout primary school In high school my interest in sports started, and I played volleyball for the school team and the province team: Alajuela I have always loved to learn and study, so I participated in a lot of academic teams: math, physics, biology, chemistry, human rights, and geography national tournaments were always part of my life I went to the University of Costa Rica where I studied Biology with a Major in Genetics and then decided that I wanted to continue in the path of Human Health, so I am also a Fitness Trainer, Aesthetician, professional Makeup Artist, and Hair Stylist What I love about working on these areas is the opportunity that I have to provide health and make people feel better. Watching their faces filled with gratitude after a great workout or when they are ready to go to their special event, I just feel blessed to be able to help people improve their quality of life. While I was completing these careers, I started working in IT support and I got

This is a great reason to actually compete for a crown. Without a purpose, the crown would be just an ornament, now this might become a bigger platform to give back, to help out children.”. About a year later, a person talked to me about a Foster Center and how they were trying to help our most vulnerable

It was at the age of 6 that my mom, Pam, introduced me to pageants. She was a titleholder when she was a young woman in California, and she told me that she saw a quality in me that she believed would be recognized in the pageant world. At age nine, I won my first state title as Little Miss California. To this day, I still communicate with my pageant director from that pageant, and I’m extremely grateful for how those early stage experiences shaped my confidence. I’m also a lover of education I’ve earned two degrees so far; Psychology and Communications. I received seven years of ministry training alongside my husband, Anthony, from two ministries in the South. I believe it was those years of ministry training that set my heart ablaze for the work of Christ! As the Executive Vice President of the Tesoro Ministry Foundation, I love partnering with other organizations that align with my heart to help those in need. I am an ambassador for “First Choice Pregnancy Services” and “Living Grace Homes.” These are two organizations that help pregnant Mothers in need They help to provide necessities, free pregnancy tests, free ultrasounds, counseling, housing, and alternative options, such as adoption for Mothers who are abortion minded and believe they have no other option

In 2001, we got married and started traveling to various states in the USA and to different countries; sharing our faith and providing basic necessities for underprivileged individuals and families around the globe We are also both ordained and have spoken in various conferences, churches, and Bible studies My Christian faith is extremely important to me. My parents, Dr. Mark and Pam Cafagna, are both Christians and put me in a Christian school at the age of two. My faith has shaped me, guided me, and grounded me.

As a young Hollywood actress at the time, I would work on the television and movie sets on the weekdays and attend church on the weekends. It was in church that my love for singing began. I come from a line of Gospel singers, so I believe it’s “in my blood” and the passion I have for music is so strong within me! Some of my greatest childhood memories are volunteering and singing in church. As a Country and Gospel singer, I’ve had the privilege of singing in many venues from the age of six I’ve recorded three music EP’s (short albums) ranging from Gospel, Christian, Country, Pop, and Country Rock As a former series regular on The Bold & the Beautiful, I recorded several songs that aired on the show; both nationally and internationally

I’m a giver by nature and a glamour girl through and through! I’m honored to be your Mrs. Nevada International 2022. My motto is “Helping to change the world one person at a time, letting my light shine.” My favorite Scripture is Jeremiah 29:11; “For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord Plans to prosper you and not harm you Plans to give you hope and a future ”

During my reign so far, my two favorite modeling campaigns were for Sky Diamonds, which is one of the most prestigious Diamond brands in the world, and for my favorite clothing company, New York and Company.

I’m also a professional model and actress. I was most well known for my series regular roles on The Bold and the Beautiful, which I previously mentioned, and Saved By The Bell (the new class). I’ve been in eight films, multiple commercials, and I have modeled for many brands.

I’ve also lent my hand to many other charities over the years including; Las Vegas Res cue Farm, Shade Tree, Victoria’s Voice, the Burn Foundation, Henderson Police Department, Salvation Army, Toys for Tots, and many more!

They are educators and heroes to these pregnant women that would otherwise have no help As an ambassador for these organizations I have been involved in many aspects of these charities including volunteering at their facilities, speaking, and lending my singing voice to their biggest fundraising events of the year

If I were to describe myself in three words it would be “Woman of Hope ” My heart and my mission is to bring the hope and the unconditional love of God to people everywhere To be an advocate for the lost and down trodden, and to advocate for women and children; using my life and platform to make a difference Now more than ever in this hurting world, people need to know that God loves them, and His hand is there to bring them out of every trying circumstance I was blessed with amazing childhood memories However, I also experienced times of extreme bullying from my peers, which led me to times of loneliness a nd extreme sadness Through this trauma, I remember feeling this sense that there was something greater for me to do, especially during my times in Hollywood in the entertainment industry A message I needed to bring; a path I needed to walk so that no one else would have to feel the sadness I felt at times I wanted people to know they were never alone because of God in heaven I believe this Mrs International pageant is a part of my destiny To bring my message of faith, hope, and love, and to let my light shine I want to be a glimmer or flicker of hope for someone watching This is my calling A few things I enjoy for fun; spending time with my children, date nights at the movies with my husband, shopping, being a “dance Mom” for my kids who love dance, working out, and hanging out with my Mom and Sister I would be remiss if I didn’t thank the individuals who have made my journey possible.

Greetings from the beautiful state of Massachusetts. I'm Cynthia Blanc Preiss MacLean, your Mrs. Massachusetts International 2022. My husband Charles and I have a blended family of 3 children and 4 grandchildren. Charles and I and our son, Ziv, love living in Massachusetts where we are known for our love, fine dining, rich American history, and opportunities for community service.

The day mv life changed forever was June 18, 2015 at 8:30AM. I received a phone call from my brother in law that rocked my world. "Cynthia we lost him, his body was found on the beach." I remember I was in the car driving our 3 year old son, Ziv, to school It's a moment I will never forget. My first husband had a mental illness and took his life seven years ago in Israel. Initially, like so many others, I shut down Conversations about mental health and suicide are some of the most difficult to have. So, I kept his suicide a secret for seven long years; not only because of the negative stigma related to being a widow, but also because of the misunderstandings related to mental health and suicide I felt guilty, afraid, and embarrassed to share the details of my truth. But today, that traumatic and once shameful experience has become my life’s work; a passion and commitment shared by my husband, Charles. Charles was also a widow when we met. Together, we are advocates, benefactors, and one on one grief mentors for married women whose husbands died, especially suicide widows, everywhere. We are traveling the world to meet with world leaders and strengthen our commitment to helping widows embrace their strength and courage, to transform their grief without shame, and to live and thrive fully.

On July 20, 2020, I was honored with a Day in my name in Framingham where we live, which was the largest town in Massachusetts, and now it's a city. I also serve as the Vice President of the Framingham chapter of the Massachusetts League of Women Voters The Mayor of Boston, Michelle Wu, and the Governor of Massachusetts have both recently recognized me for our outreach and advocacy for married women whose husbands died, especially suicide widows. And Charles was recently recognized in Aruba; the Island of our second home where he was named Emerald Ambassadors of Aruba.

With 12 8 million married women whose husbands died, the United States has the third largest group of widows behind China (43 million) and India (42 million). Widows, especially suicide widows, are often forgotten, disinherited, and stigmatized, and they feel depressed and isolated 1 in 5 Americans live with a mental health condition, and every year in the United States more than 45,000 people take their own lives; many of whom leave behind loved ones. Three of them, this year alone, were beauty pageant queens. During COVID, the number accelerated and COVID became known as the fastest widow maker in history

Widows To Windows is not just a platform; it is our life’s passion and life's work 365 days a year my husband and I are changing the lives of married women whose husbands died. Everyday as a Grief Support Facilitator, Collaborator, and Public Speaker who speaks four languages, I serve and speak to women of all backgrounds and raise awareness about the traumatic impacts of being left a widow, especially a suicide widow, and a widow's need for love, support, and an encouraging community, while also creating understanding around the topics of mental health and suicide. As Mrs. International 2022, I will continue to advocate for, and work to advance, global support for what is historically the most underserved demographic of women; widows I will continue to be a featured speaker at international conferences, such as Camp Widow (500 attendees in 3 countries), and I am working with their conferences in Canada and Austrailia, and Samaritans Hope (supports over 15,000 suicide loss survivors) I will continue to work with United States officials, such as Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker and Boston Mayor Michelle Wu, who have both honored our work with official citations. I will continue to work with the Embassy of Haiti in Washington and its Ambassador His Excellency Bocchit EDMOND who has connected me with key organizations and officials in Haiti. I will further my plans with China and India who have the largest populations of married women whose husbands died I will keep traveling internationally where I have established relationships with government officials and organizations in Aruba, Haiti, the Bahamas, France, and Kenya.

With Widows To Windows, my husband and I are committed to giving married women whose husbands died, especially suicide widows, the support and resources they need for a brighter future, while effectively promoting the International Pageants system. #IIM

One of my favorite blessings as Mrs Texas International comes when I am out at events where children want to take a picture with me and talk to me I love listening to each precious child, answering their questions, and telling them about the best part of wearing a crown getting to help other people To create Unity in Community, I believe it is a two part mission; I believe that Embrace + Serve = Unity The Embrace is accomplished by reading my children’s book and spreading its message of “Our differences make us stronger ” The Serve comes by supporting non profits and other service organizations within our local communities I truly believe that most people want to give back and make a difference, but they just don't know how or where to start By promoting these two principles, I am, again, getting to use my megaphone to share with the whole state of Texas how they can all get involved in bringing Unity Time has helped me to grow from a person who prioritized tasks over people to now someone who is all about people, in everything I do. After graduating from the University of Texas, Austin with a bachelor’s degree in Communications (Radio, TV & Film), I decided it would be best to go back and earn my MBA and work in an area where I had a larger opportunity to serve people. Now, as the Vice President of Human Resources for a global digital marketing company, I have the latitude to support interstate employees, every day. Recently, I passed a com

The crown may be what sparkles but the power to help others is what I desire to shine the brightest It is my honor to hold the title of Mrs Texas International 2022 I’m passionate about bringing the message of Unity in Community everywhere I go Over the last couple of years, we have all felt isolated and disconnected in some way We have witnessed division on a global scale as we ' ve argued about masks, vaccines, and even the color of our skin This stirred so deeply in my heart that I knew I had to do something In my past, when I've teamed up with people who are different than me rather than pulling away, I have found there is power in our coming together; we make stronger teams. So, I came to the crossroads of realizing this problem and feeling as though I was holding the key to the solution; I just needed a megaphone! Becoming a State International titleholder has been that megaphone and allowed me to broaden my reach in bringing people together. In August of 2021, my children's book Zoey the Zebra Meets Lexi the Lion was published. I wrote this book to help encourage children to find a new friend who doesn't look like them and they just might find their new best friend! Our friendship circles are not meant to be a mirror. Doesn't that sound boring? Over the past year, I have had the privilege of reading my book to many local schools and preschools. Every single child matters. I always conclude with an encouraging reminder that there is no one else like them on earth and that they were created on purpose, for a purpose. Thanks to our technology, I have had the joy and privilege of reading my book all over the world My parents have hosted international missionaries at their home for as long as I can remember That now has blessed me with opportunities to connect with children in Africa, Indonesia, Moldova, the Ukraine, Russia, and beyond I am so thankful for the growing impact as I continue to book additional reading locations to reach more children

company wide benefit for which all employees are now able to take six weeks of paid leave, for maternity, paternity, and/or adoption I’m constantly looking for ways to improve the overall experience for our employees and love what I do. Besides my full time job, I have been a master level certified life coach for two years. Working in the mmarketpl arketplace has afforded me the opportunity to meet other moms who have goals and oftentimes just need a coach in their corner, helping them turn those dreams into reality. As the founder of CheeringOnMoms.com, I have the privilege of leading and challenging women with my Master courses, published offerings, and life coaching plans I am constantly dreaming up new materials that will better serve that amazing community known as Moms

Furthermore, partnering with M OPS International (Mothers of Preschoolers) has allowed me to speak into many different Moms lives and encourage those who may be feeling desperate for community connections. MOPS does an incredible job at bringing women together from all parts of the world and then working together on service projects They have also extended their offerings to include Mothers who have children of all ages in their M OMSnext program They believe in mentorship and community, and I am so proud to help spread the word about their amazing service to Mothers Realizing that women have so much to say about community, I developed the Global Women’s Leadership Panel on Unity in Community. It is a way for us to put into action how we Embrace + Serve. I’ve had the honor of leading both an in person session as well as globa l, zoom sessions, each one rich with knowledge and laughter Being able to bring people together who wouldn’t normally connect is what creating Unity in Community is all about We need one another we were not meant to do this life alone Of course, there is no way that I could do what I do without the incredible and unwavering support of my husband, Daniel, and our two daughters, Zoey and Lexi. Dani el is a firefighter and has devoted his life to serving his community. I am proud to stand by his side. Not only does he support me but both of our girls, and their big dreams, as well Our youngest, Lexi is a competitive cheerleader and Daniel wouldn’t miss an event for the world In fact, he’s even taken hair braiding classes to help with her cheer braids for competitions We call Lexi our “sunshine ” as she brightens every room she enters Zoey, our first born, is everything you dream your first child will be a kind hearted soul, an organized student, and a passionate leader. Daniel has been the first to teach her to dance and prepare her for dating when she turns 35. My journey would not be the same without Zoey; she‘s the current Miss Pre Teen Lonestar International and we’ve had so much fu n doing e er thing together M famil is my greatest blessing. We love serving our community: from visiting with n girls that have aged out of foster care, we do it all together working I am so thankful to God for choosing me to help bring people together I believe that every interaction is an opportunity to elevate the atmosphere I desire to be a change maker and leave a lasting global legacy. I’m full of passion and ready to be the spark that sets the world on fire. While I am running my race, I never want someone to meet me, see all that I’m doing, and think less of themselves. We each have our own callings, giftings, and abilities and none are more important than another’s What you’ve been called to do, only you can do it the best So, in this season, I’m going to serve God and His people with a smile on my face, all the while in sequins and stilettos #IIM

Thirty Seven years ago, I began volunteering at the local office of the Alzheimer’s Association answering phones I sought out this volunteer experience because my grandfather was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease, and I thought it would help me understand the disease and learn what resources were available Little did I know then that Alzheimer’s and Dementia would become such a big part of my personal and professional life! My Husband and Family Stan and I met in chemistry class at Wilkes University in 1986. (I guess it was good chemistry after all!). In 2018, we renewed our vows and celebrated our 25th anniversary, and we are planning an awesome family trip to celebrate our 30th anniversary next year. We are the parents of two amazing humans; Rebecca (26) and Stanley (22). Both children have earned their masters degrees and are moving forward in their careers. Stan and I are so very proud that we have raised smart, caring, independent, and kind children. My Career I have a caring heart and the passion to help others, and that’s why I became a nurse My relationship with my grandparents propelled me towards a geriatrics specialty, and my desire to lead moved me into management early in my career I graduated with my Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Wilkes University in 1991 and worked in a local nursing home and hospital I completed the certificate program for Nursing Home Administrators and in 1997 became a licensed nursing home administrator Before long, I immediately saw the need to earn a Master’s Degree for my new management position In 2001, I obtained my Masters in Health Care Administration and a certification in Gerontological Nursing

My Pageants

Over the next 25 years, I dedicated my career to the geriatric population with specialty in dementia care and leadership I went on to work for the Veterans Health Care Administration and earned my Case Management certification and I became a certified Dementia Care Specialist I went back to school for my Masters in Nursing, and in 2021 I finally earned my terminal degree; a Doctorate in Nursing Practice Being on the front lines during the pandemic trying to keep our most vulnerable population safe was the biggest challenge I have faced in my career Today, I am the National Program Manager for Veterans Affairs (Central Office D C ), and I oversee the care of those veterans residing in VA Community Living Centers in the United States. Working remotely has given me a chance to use my talents in a different way and impact care on a national level. I also started teaching master’s students at Wilkes University in the Nursing Department. My students call me “Dr. Z”, and I love being able to impact their future careers as advanced practice nurses.

When I was 17, my dance teacher told me about a pageant that I could dance in and possibly win money for college. I jumped at the chance to try my local Junior Miss pageant, and before I knew it I was representing my county at the state pageant. I was hooked and as soon as I turned 19, I was eligible to try for Miss America. It took me 7 years to earn the Miss Pennsylvania title and I made the most of that experience. I was a non finalist talent award winner at Miss America and a runner up for the "Quality of Life" award (the community service award and start of the MAO platform) for my work with the elderly and Alzheimer’s My reign was my opportunity to do all that I could with my platform, and the Alzheimer’s Association embraced my desire to help make a change I lobbied in DC and participated in walks all across the state I even had a private meeting with sitting President George Bush Over the next 30 years, I took on some other roles in pageantry like Pageant Director, Pageant Judge, and Pageant Coach, but my favorite was Pageant Mom My daughter, Becky, competed for many years and held several state titles I won Mrs PA United States in 1996 but then took a long break to focus on my family and my career But in 2010, I decided that it was time for me to get back on that stage and try to become Mrs PA International This pageant system spoke to me because of the platform based approach and my desire to make a bigger impact through the Alzheimer’s Association (Plus, the PA Directors are the nicest people ever!)

I’d like to say I am now the poster child for pageant perseverance. It took me 8 years to earn the Mrs. PA International title! Seven years as a runner up made me consider giving up all together, but after a short break to try the Earth USA system, I came back with more determination than ever. Sure enough, the 8th time for me worked and I hit the ground running!

My journey to Mrs International started long ago as a little girl living in Northern Minnesota who loved family, animals, serving others, and working to make a difference In 1990, I was selected as Little Miss Bemidji, and my core values and my desire to be of service to others began to grow through pageantry

A strong emphasis on family has always been one of my core values Their influence and teaching has had a profound influence on my development as a person The ethics instilled in me of hard work, honesty, integrity, positivity, and deep love by my family have shaped me into the passionate, hard working person I am today in all of my pursuits. This appreciation of family affirms why I feel so at home with the International Pageant system. Their emphasis on the importance of family aligns so elegantly with that of my own values. In the first grade, we were asked to write our future ambition. I still have that writing; even at that young age, I knew I was meant to serve. My desired ambition was to be in health care because I like to help people. My grandma further developed that desire to serve, as she would bring me with her to volunteer at our church from the time I was only eight years old. I learned the values of compassion and empathy from our time together serving those in need, and, more importantly, how my faith should be at the core of all my efforts. My grandfather was one of the hardest working people I have ever known. He’d always say work smarter not harder, and the depth of his love for his family was one that I aspire to achieve. He would call me his “liebendes Kind” loving child. I hope that I am doing this term of endearment proud. I am a devoted wife to my husband of nearly 12 years and fur mom to our three dogs; Lady, Lila, and Cooper and our cat, Bentley. One of the greatest titles that has grown from the love of family is that of “Mauntie” or mama auntie. My niece, nephew, and “fur niece” are such an integral part of my days that this term of endearment was a natural, happy accident. I pray that I am the kind of role model for them to love and serve in the world as much as my family has been to me. I pursued my ambition to use my gifts in an effort to help people and to realize that dream through an education at the University of North Dakota; earning my degrees in Biology and Nursing and joining the North Dakota Army National Guard. It was during my pursuits of my nursing degree that I was reminded of my Minnesota roots in a life altering way. Being from Minnesota, I was brought up with traditional Midwest values, and being “Minnesota nice” is not just something that describes me, but it is a character trait that I aspire to achieve through all that I accomplish. Hard work, kindness, and glowing optimism are the kind of traits that are just naturally a part of the fabric of the community in which I grew up. They rub off on you, even when you are a temporary resident. I discovered this when I was introduced to my now husband by a dear friend and fellow International titleholder at dart league. We were introduced while she was subbing on his team. It was a dart to the heart when this North Dakota man shared with me that he lived temporarily in Minnesota. My childhood bus route stopped daily at the resort where he was living! He had those same “Minnesota nice” qualities that I value. We were married a little less than two years later, and I feel like I hit the husband bullseye. The path to International was not yet made clear to me, but now in hindsight I can say that trusting in His plan has lead me to where I am today. The friend who reminds me to trust in that plan on a regular basis was, in fact, the inspiration for my pageant pursuits. In 2017, she was competing at Mrs. International. I watched her through social media platforms as she embarked on her journey. She is one of the most influential people I know, and I felt called to refocus my life. Her faith and drive are magnetic, and she is truly inspiring. A spark was ignited as I watched her changing the world, including mine. Although she didn't walk away with the title that year, her passion and persistence paid off, as she was eventually crowned Mrs. International 2020. My pageant inspiration flame was further fanned by my civilian Soldier experiences while deployed to Bagram, Afghanistan that same year.

As a traditional member of the National Guard, I hold differing “jobs” as a civilian and as a military member At the time, I was a dermatology clinic nurse as a civilian and a logistics officer in the National Guard These two facets of my life were divinely intertwined while I was deployed to Bagram, Afghanistan, and I was fortunate to view my experiences there through the lens of both a health care professional and as a Soldier The lens of the Soldier was definitely the more dominant of my experiences When I arrived in Afghanistan, I worked day in and out at being a “good Soldier” Strong, devoid of emotion; the stereotypical Soldier persona Fourteen to twenty plus hour work days for more than seven months. I completely bought into the stigma that mental health was taboo, that emotions were a sign of weakness, and that as the senior female leader I had to maintain an unwavering tough front. Then, one day in September our behavioral health team scheduled a visit at our battalion building with the unit morale dog, Rogue. As a fur mom missing her children, I was ecstatic for the opportunity for something resembling the normalcy of home. You see, there are no children or animals on the military base; nothing other than the business of military operations. It was easy to conform to that stereotypical militaristic behavior, so that change was much welcomed As soon as Rogue and her handler entered our building, there was a palpable shift in the mood Computers were signed off, and offices were vacated for the hallway in fellowship with our team members and the companionship of a rescued Afghani puppy Seasoned and new Soldiers alike congregated in the hallway and sat on the floor playing with a puppy and her toys; sharing camaraderie and visibly changing in a positive way in her presence When Rogue made her way to my end of the hall, she licked and snuggled and played with me All those "pawsitive" transformative effects that she had on my brothers and sisters in arms immediately had the same effects on me The feelings were overwhelmingly positive, and when the time came for her to depart, I was forever changed For the first time since arriving in Afghanistan, I let the unwavering, unemotional facade drop away, and I teared up as she made her way back to her billets; allowing myself to experience all the emotions I had been holding back After wiping away my tears I was inspired that I, with the love and support of my husband Doug and my amazing family, could “make a difference” for others just like Rogue did for Tmehe experience with Rogue and my fellow Soldiers was the pivotal catalyst for the birth of "Paws for Mental Health" and my passionate pursuits of promoting “pawsitive” mental health through the human animal bond; one paw at a time. I, for the first time, really had an awareness and appreciation for the mental health crisis that is pervasive on a global scale. I felt called to serve, not only the 1 in 5 Americans, but the 1 in 10 people globally that are diagnosed with a mental health condition; especially the 1 in 4 Veterans with a mental health diagnosis. Armed with the desire to educate others, the drive to use my gifts to serve, and the will to combat the stigma that I myself had previously held, I returned home and changed career paths from clinic nursing to school nursing Through my work as a school nurse, I have the opportunity to collaborate with students and staff towards improving mental health; often with animal assisted interventions I am incredibly fortunate to work in a school district that is a pilot program for K 12 mental health curriculum During my tenure, the implementation of a district wide therapy dog program has also ensued Additionally, I participate in a variety of entities that work to serve the mental health needs of our citizens, including a community mental health initiative, multiple animal rescues, Service Dogs for America, and Pet Partners, as well as becoming a member of the Association of Animal Assisted Intervention ProfessionalsItismyaspiration to continue to make a difference as I compete for Mrs International 2022 through my platform Paws for Mental Health However, with or without a crown, I will continue to EDUCATE others about the “pawsitive” benefits of the "pet effect" and the human animal bond, while I SERVE by advocating for animal assisted interventions as an adjunct to mental health programming and volunteering with organizations, such as Pet Partners and Service Dogs for America. Through all these efforts, I will continue to COMBAT the stigma surrounding mental health. My efforts didn’t start with a crown, and they certainly won’t stop with or without one. I will forever promote "pawsitive" mental health through the human animal bond; one paw at a time. #IIM

This year I made an elite dance team, and I get to dance 15 hours a week! I love competitions because I get to work with my team to achieve our goals. My most humbling and exciting opportunity this year was walking the catwalk at New York Fashion Week for Marc Defang on September 11th. After modeling, I traded in my heels for tennis shoes and hit the road visiting policemen and fire departments giving out Starbucks cards and hugs of appreciation. Then we headed to the 9/11 memorial to show our respect. While there, we met the wife of a fireman who gave his life to save others. The picture of his funeral procession now hangs on the library of congress. A friend of our family posted about helping a refugee family get the necessities they need. I thought about how scared I would feel if I had to move to a different country with nothing. I knew I needed to help and wanted this to be my platform! There are so many families needing help.

Hello, everyone! My name is Jillian Towle. I am thrilled to represent my home State as Miss Pre Teen Utah International 2022. I am the youngest of six children. I have four brothers, one sister, three sister-in-laws, and I’m even an aunt. I love to babysit, hang out with my friends, and play with my dog, Delilah. My talents are tumbling, dancing, and making people laugh. I love to make others happy! My friends often say I’m funny, which is one of my favorite ways to be described.

I invited a fifth grade class to help. We made an Amazon wish list, and the kids brought in all the things the families had requested. We drove all over town picking up things our friends had to donate and delivered them to the families. I was also able to raise $1,500 to buy appliances and to give them spending money. Sam’s Club and RC Willey furniture Company were so kind to donate three big screen televisions and furniture to help my endeavors. With the help of my community, I was able to furnish three refugee apartments! Even better, I became their friend and helped them feel welcome! I had the honor of receiving the Global Award of Outstanding Refugee Advocate. My most memorable experience was when we delivered a brand new, big screen television to a family who had a boy my age. When we left, we heard him cheering for cheering with joy and excitement in his apartment. I knew we had not only given him what he needed but something he was very grateful for! As the next Miss Pre Teen International, I want to share my story. If a twelve-year-old girl can help three families, imagine what we can all do together by collecting items and being a good neighbor. I have reached out to multiple local and national refugee organizations to join with their efforts in starting drives. Together, we can make a beautiful community of service, love, and inclusion. I am grateful for all of these wonderful opportunities and growth that are made possible by serving as a titleholder for International Pageants, Inc. I am International! #IIM I'm International Magazine

We all have goals and dreams; some can be completing a class or spending more time with a loved one, but I believe you should have a few big goals and dreams; no matter what age you are One important feeling I have is to show that every girl can achieve what they strive for; no matter their ethnicity or age I want to show other girls that they can achieve their goals with hard work and dedication if they put their mind to it Growing up, I always thought I could be a princess like the princesses I saw on TV; walking on stage and making their dreams come true, so I thought to myself, “Why can’t I do that?”. As I became older, I worked hard to achieve my goals and dreams for my teen years. Anyone can be a princess if they are ready to try, however it is more than pretty dresses and make up. Your heart has t o be in the right place. You need a passion for something you believe in, and you need to want to make a difference.

Beauty starts within and just shines through to your outside. It is about confidence and leading by example. There is a great saying, "A true Princess/Queen fixes each other’s crown", and I truly believe this to be true.

Hi, my name is Kyah Brown and I am your Miss Teen Maine International 2022. What an honor it is to be chosen to represent the state of Maine and to be a role model for other teens.

Working with pageants has given me so much confidence. One of my proud moments so far is being crowned at my first pageant I was in. I have learned so much from others, and I love that I can give advice to others in their pageant journey; sharing my hard work and determination. There are so many things I can continually use in my future journey with pageants. One great part I take away from my pageant journey is confidence. Through my confidence, I was able to be a model for a small business, and I will walk in New York Fashion Week this September In my future, I plan to continue my modeling, while continuing my education Of course, learning new skills and becoming a chef and opening my own business showcasing my skills. Some of my other hobbies are knitting and crocheting, which were shared with me by my great grandmother, so they are hobbies close to my heart. I enjoy sports, and I play on a softball team for my high school. Staying healthy is something I also try to do, so I try to eat right and stay active, but of course the occasional treat is always necessary.

I do know that my dreams and goals can be accomplished, but most importantly I know that I need to enjoy my teen years, and each year ahead of me needs to be treasured, so a balance is very important. I am excited to be representing Maine this year and meeting so many wonderful ladies from all over the world. I am honored to showcase myself and take in the wonderful journey with my sister queens. #IIM I'm International Magazine

I am in my senior year of high school, and I come from a Military family. One thing that has been taught to me is to work hard and be okay with multitasking for the things you love. So, while juggling my studies and my hobbies, I also love lending a hand at my local church. Participating in my community with so many wonderful events is a great way to give back to my surroundings. My family is also very important, so taking time to enjoy family is on top of my list One of my favorite things I am doing is attending a culinary school, which helps bring my passion to life; feeding the hungry. Whenever I can, I am proud to give assistance to the Good Shepard Food Bank, which is my local food pantry. They do amazing work there and help so many Maine residents in need of food. Recently, I was able to participate in a fashion show; Flowers that Feed Project. All proceeds went directly to the Good Shepard Food Bank. I was also able to cook with the Best Buddies Organization; a great program for those in need. My creativity side gets to shine with my YouTube channel where I give tutorials on delicious dinner ideas I enjoy the fun and sharing my cooking with so many. Coming from a big family and having so many things with a price increase, I know that there is an important need to feed people. Some people are having to choose between food and medication or baby needs, and the list goes on, which just makes this global hunger issue worse. It starts with us…with Me…with You, and I am proud to be a part of the change with feeding the hungry. Acceptance, knowledge and change for those in need of food all across the world.

Meru and Bungoma Mobile Library Kenya Jaliwa is working to establish libraries for youth to encourage curiosity in finding their talents and personal confident as an individual We are also working towards establishing two mobile libraries in Kenya’s Meru and Bungoma communities

warriors are an army of selected support workers and volunteers dedicated to mentoring and helping young people engage in projects within their community The Jaliwa Foundation work toward inspiring and guiding young people to realize their dreams and building them to become leaders "Jaliwa is derived from the Swahili words ‘God gifted’," and I believe that Jaliwa will bring together other God blessed youth and support them to becoming change makers. Our vision: is to form a global community of youth leaders to engage in projects with their communities and together we can make changes! Our mission; is to help inspire, empower and deliver to the youth worldwide. Inspiring young people to be leaders in their fields and communities, by following their dreams. For those who don’t know what they dream of yet, we work to help them in finding their passions Empowering with confidence and support through their education and mentorship Most importantly delivering to the youth Providing the materials, opportunities, and support they need I believe young people need to be at the centre of decisions that affect them Therefore, they can grow to understand the issues affecting their future and wellbeing: To do this, young people require encouragement and support to utilize their talents, knowledge and engage with their community through activities like volunteering, fundraising, or advocating for issues that affect them The Jaliwa Foundation seeks to form a global movement that encourages young people to take up leadership within their community. Through the Jaliwa foundation, we have been able to send books as resources to the following organization: Mully Children's Family

My talents have given me many opportunities and shaped me into who I am today I believe that God specifically gave me these talents not just for myself but to help others in any way possible. I believe what Jeremiah 1:5 says: “before you were born, I set you apart.” We are all talented, gifted, and unique in our ways, no matter where we come from. Unfortunately, many young people worldwide don’t get the same opportunities I do due to a lack of resources, mentors, and support. That is why I started The Jaliwa Foundation. We provide resources, education, and we mentor youth all around the world to move further in their life and later help others in their community so that together, we can be the change OmakersurJaliwa

Nyawai Academy Nyawai Academy is a privately owned school managed by my grandfather in Kenya. In May 2022, The Jaliwa foundation collaborated and donated exercise books to Academy. 10,000 exercise books donation will be delivered over 5 years. Future Shipments

The foundation has remained busy and inundated with overwhelming requests for books as a resource: We have been able to source and gain support from other organizations with a large donation of books We are also looking forward to reaching out and touching more lives in our future scheduled shipment in October 2022

Nyawai Academy Reading Corner Kenya In 2022 we have partnered with Nyawai Academy to establish a reading corner.

Jaliwa Foundation has had the privilege to work with the Mully Children’s Family in Kenya Mully Children’s Family rescues and rehabilitates children in difficult situations such as homelessness and neglect In September of 2021, we sent out a shipment to the children Before shipping them, we organized the books into three categories depending on the book’s age and corresponding reading level

Away from sending books as a resource, we have worked with other organizations to establish the following projects dedicated to young people within their communities.

Hi! I’m Faith Wilhite, Miss Teen Southwest International 2022! I am so grateful to not only represent my home state of Arizona, but also Utah, Nevada, and New Mexico! I'm 15 years old and will be a high school sophomore this August. My hobbies include tap dancing, writing stories, editing and creating YouTube videos, and Karate! I’ve been tap dancing since I was eight and writing stories since I was only three. I also recently received my green belt in Karate! I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, and volunteering within my community! Although I love to help anywhere I can, Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) will always have a special place in my heart Feed My Starving Children is an organization that packs, prepares, and distributes good and nutritious food all over the world to children who are in need. I was introduced to this amazing organization through my time in Girl Scouts in December of 2018. Before we packed the food, we gathered to watch a video about a little boy named Emanuel who was only three years of age; he was close to death Both of his parents left him and his two brothers at birth. The oldest son had to find food everyday. The village they lived in did not provide much food or water. Most of the time, they had to eat dirt for dinner Ever since then, I fell in love with the inspiring message of FMSC; “may all be fed.” Some of the ways I have helped is through my fundraiser, where my family and I cooked family and I cooked pancakes for our neighbors and friends and raised $300 dollars for FMSC, which helped to provide 1,000 meals for hungry children!

Also, in 2019, I wrote a book called Life Without Food, where I talk about my first ever experience packing meals. The book has over 1,400 views, and you can go check it out on storyjumper com!

Recently, I wrote a sequel to my first book called Hope Starts with Us, where I go into detail about how everyone can help make an impact in the lives of these precious children. The Covid 19 pandemic definitely hindered a lot of my goals related to my work with FMSC, but I chose not to give up. As Miss Teen International 2022, I will continue my work in three key ways.

First, I will continue participating in meal packing events at FMSC facilities in my local community and throughout the United States. Second, I will continue fundraising to support the financial needs to provide meals to children around the world And third, I will do my best to bring awareness to FMSC and the issue of food insecurities by sharing my books and speaking to different groups and organizations Everyone deserves food and the right to eat, especially children. They're the next generation and our future leaders, so we need to give them what they need now to thrive and to become all God made them to be I am so blessed to have the title of Miss Teen Southwest International, and I can’t wait to see you all in Kingsport, Tennessee this July! #IIM I'm International Magazine

Through my platform, Coping thru Crisis, I’m committed to helping others cope thru the crisis they face by encouraging the use of four different coping mechanisms, which include: Breathe for Physical Wellness; Laugh for Mental Wellness; Connect for Social Wellness; and Pray for Spiritual Wellness. Whether someone uses one coping mechanism or all four, my hope is that thru these coping mechanisms I’m able to help others develop the courage, strength, and endurance to effectively cope thru each of the crisis that they face; today, tomorrow, and always.

With or without a crown, I will continue to share my platform through a variety of key collaborations and digital platforms that will allow me the opportunity to share Coping thru Crisis around the globe. I cope thru crisis every day, and it is my mission to share the life changing benefits of coping mechanisms with people around the world. #IIM “Be the Change you want to see in this world,” said Mahatma Gandhi. I am Roopa Raju; your Mrs. India International 2022. I believe we are all given opportunities in life to make a profound difference in the lives of others and to create the positive change that we want to see in the world around us. But, to create the change we must first BE the change. We first need to commit to growing and to making the necessary changes in our own lives that will then allow us to step up and take action. For example, I have changed and skilled myself in innumerable ways to COPE and step up to life’s challenges, and I've applied change positively in different areas of my life and in gentle ways. I have shaken the world around me in a small way, spreading positivity and social awareness This includes the awareness that I am bringing to my platform, Coping thru Crisis

I'm International Magazine

Every day, each of us is faced with some type of crisis. Whether it be a job crisis, a health crisis, a relationship crisis, or a financial crisis, we’re all faced with moments of crisis and stress at some point throughout our day; me included How we define crisis in our life, and how we are effected by that crisis, is going to be unique to each of us, but through the use of effective coping mechanisms, we can all find the courage, strength, and endurance to cope thru the crisis that we face. Having the skills and the ability to cope thru the crisis that we face on a daily basis allows all of us to confidently face crisis head on and provides us with the courage, strength, and endurance to face tomorrow
