During my final year and after my graduation, I worked on freelance projects, designing building elevations and drafting hospital drawings in collaboration with a firm. These projects provided valuable insights into healthcare architecture, client perspectives, and practical experience through site visits, enhancing my understanding of design and execution.
2023-2024 [ 6 months ] BHASKAR DESIGN TEAM, VISAKHAPATNAM
During my internship at BDT firm, I worked on a variety of residential and commercial projects, gaining experience in visualization, planning, and client communication. I also had the opportunity to lead a government project in Araku, which involved overseeing estimations, attending client meetings, and preparing presentation drawings. This role honed my skills in project management and gave me a deeper understanding of architectural planning and execution across different projects.

ABOUT THE PROJECT
The Araku Valley Resort, set within an expansive 8.89-acre plot in the heart of the Ananthagiri Hill Range, embraces the dramatic topography and rich ecological context of the site. The design responds to the valley’s natural slopes, ranging from 1:8 to 1:12, with a strategic architectural approach that harmonizes built structures with the land’s contours, ensuring minimal disruption to the landscape.
Instead of imposing on the terrain, I capitalized on the slope through a combination of cut-and-fill techniques and the insertion of semi-underground private cottages. This not only preserves the site’s natural elevation but also enhances passive cooling and ventilation.The cottages are designed to be experiential, offering users a secluded, immersive connection to the surrounding dense greens, while providing panoramic views of the valley from private outdoor spaces.
This project redefines the relationship between architecture and nature, creating a retreat that is as much a part of the valley as the coffee plantations that define the region. It speaks to a design philosophy of restraint, where every intervention is both deliberate and respectful of the site’s inherent beauty and ecological value.

The site is located at Ananthagiri hill range , nearby Araku Valley ( 23kms ) and is 91kms away from Visakhapatnam.It has the views of the scenic Araku valley that reats the eyes with its lush green forest.

Cottages are arranged around a central Main Block, with adjacent Garden & Trail spaces for relaxation. Key amenities like the Admin & Restaurant block and Crafts & Plantations area offer guest services and local cultural experiences. The Parking and circulation paths ensure convenient access without disrupting the resort’s natural tranquility.
The land , at the west is the lush green forest which leads to a hill while the central area of the site is filled with few greens and a gentle slope. To the north outside site has a lower land of agricultural fields.This would create an opportunity for experiencing the scenic views throught the lush greens of the valley.

MAIN BLOCK
The Main Block of this resort is designed around a central open courtyard, illuminated by a striking circular skylight. Rooms are arranged along the perimeter, creating a strong connection between indoor and outdoor spaces. The skylight allows natural light to flood the central area, enhancing the guest experience with a serene, airy ambiance. There is a cafe jut beside the open spce for the guest to relax and order room service.

MAIN BLOCK
The initial idea was to have a connecting open space which makes a puncture in the sloped roof so the tree extends upwards. Then it comes down to aligning the blocks as per existing pathway on the site and levelling of contours using cut and fill method.
The admin block has all the offices necessary and also a formal meeting room and a informal sitout area which allows for leisure time and informal meetings of the staff members and also acts as a waiting area for guests before they go to their rooms

PRIVATE COTTAGES
The Private Cottages are designed to provide an underground living experience while maintaining privacy with a dedicated outdoor pool area. The cottages are embedded into the natural contour of the land, seamlessly blending architecture with the landscape. The Ground Floor Plan includes a foyer, kitchenette, bedroom, and a balcony offering stunning views. The Basement Plan features a master suite, a green outdoor area, and a private pool, creating a luxurious retreat. By sinking the structure into the terrain, the design maximizes thermal insulation and offers an intimate, serene atmosphere for guests.

MARDAGUDA VSS | ANANTHAGIRI RANGE, VISAKHAPATNAM
In collaboration with the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Department, under the guidance of the District Forest Officer (DFO), the CBET Tourism Complex project aimed to develop a tourist destination in the picturesque Ananthagiri Hill Range, Araku. My role involved contributing to the architectural design of a key component—a restaurant that would maximize the area’s scenic beauty, offering panoramic views of the lush hills. In addition, I was responsible for designing cottages to provide tourists with an immersive lodging experience amidst nature. My work included comprehensive site planning, creating detailed architectural drawings (plans, sections, and elevations) to guide the construction process, and preparing cost estimations for the restaurant. Working closely with the chief architect, I contributed to the conceptual design for phase one and developed visualizations to effectively communicate the design intent to the client.

St. Ann’s Jubilee Memorial Hospital | Fire Safety Retrofit and Renovation
ABOUT THE WORK
The St. Ann’s Jubilee Memorial Hospital, originally established in 1987, has undergone numerous changes over the years due to shifts in management and building standards. As part of a collaborative effort with Satya Planners, I was tasked with drafting updated architectural and service plans to ensure the hospital met fire safety norms. This involved working closely with the current management, making multiple site visits each week to meticulously document existing conditions and obtain accurate measurements for the hospital’s six blocks. Given the stringent fire safety inspection deadlines, the work demanded precision and timely delivery.
I contributed to drafting 37 detailed drawings, focusing on the outpatient block, which I’ve highlighted in this portfolio. This project not only sharpened my technical drafting skills but also emphasized the importance of regulatory compliance and collaboration in architecture. It also deepened my understanding of retrofitting older buildings to meet modern standards, which has greatly enriched my professional experience.
