 Liaising and coordinating with clients, consultants, and key stakeholders.  Being in direct contact with clients and handling all project aspects.

A multidisciplinary firm with an architectural focus on environmentally sustainable buildings My tasks were:  Carry out site inspections, surveys, and attend client meetings.

A major architecture consultant with projects in multiple countries. My tasks were:  Design process for the new Valeo building in Smart Village  Producing technical drawings for the tallest hotel in Alexandria.

 Preparing tender and architectural drawing documentation.

We had sessions on how to counteract climate change, what environment friendly habits we can adopt, and we had an insight on whether there are enough policies in the market that promote this or not.

A construction company with projects mainly in North Coast, Egypt. My tasks were:  Producing architectural drawings for a residential project.  Communicating tasks between different teams.

Kelma’s main objective is spreading cultures to people of all ages, which is achieved through its five distinctive projects I joined as a team member in ElShwarea Hwadeet project, it was about documenting stories of old streets & neighborhoods. Later on, I was elected to be the General Coordinator of the group. I was responsible for arranging proposals, camps for members, and updating internal workflow.

7 Designing Public Realm in Alexandria Lake Mariout Financial District: A New Regional Anchor Location: Alexandria, Egypt Year: 2018 Setting: Graduation project Area: 430 acres

DESIGNURBANARCHITECTURE:

The project’s aim was to create a modern financial district that would be an investments center for the Northern Egypt region. Also, to create a perfect mix between the office buildings and the to be surrounding urban spaces and residential areas in future expansions. Furthermore, to try to make the area as independent as possible and not just another dense neighborhood that’s dependent on old centers. It was thought that it should be outside of the old already dense centers, that’s why the location behind Carrefour City Centre was chosen.

This project was planned according to the Strategic Planning Report of Alexandria for 2032. The plan was based on sustainable growth and economic development and aims for about 60,000 jobs in the financial intermediation sector. The 175 ha land was allocated for such knowledge based economy projects to be built in future. It’ll provide job opportunities for about 40,000 employees in the financial sector.

Design Scenarios: Different scenarios were tried out in the beginning as to reach the best possible one in the end; in terms of walkability, road network, spaces and the connections in between, and in terms of sustainability and maximum environment friendly ways. A mix between the environmental and social scenarios was carried out in the end.

URBANARCHITECTURE:DESIGN Location

Because of the clear border defined by the International Coastal Road, no direct relation could have been made with Lake Mariout, and it was thought that it’s best if the main collector in the district was designed this way. However, the buildings were distributed as such that the tall ones overlook the lake and the height gradually decreases so it integrates with the park in the end.

Zones were spread out this way to ensure a feeling of containment and enclosure for the offices, along with making sure that all zones overlook either a water surface or a green area, was it the central park or the inner courts of each block.Zoning

Sustainability was taken into consideration in many aspects, one was the water in the park and between the different blocks, this water is easily extracted from the Lake Mariout, the water would also help with the vegetation of all the green areas. Another aspect was the used materials, they were chosen to be as light colored as possible in order to decrease the urban heat island effect.

Buildings distributedwerethis way so the highest would be facing Lake Mariout, and the

The purpose of this project is to improve quality of life and community well being in Alexandria’s ‘urban edge’, and the approach was to design a self dependent residential compound, that has its own market, entertainment areas, a school, and a hospital, also to make use of the huge water front and making it pleasant and comfortable for the residents.

15 Restoring Identity in Downtown Alexandria Urban Renewal of Kom El Dekka Location: Alexandria, Egypt Year: 2017 Setting: University project Area: 56 acres Software used: ArcGIS, AutoCAD, 3ds Max, Photoshop

On surveying the area, it was found that the main problem was negligence, which led to economic and social deficiencies. My vision was to restore back the area’s historical place on Alexandria’s tourism map by suggesting a city tour through its alleys, which would then help the people with their economic, social, cultural, and built environment situations.

17 Community Centre in Borg El Arab

The aim was to design an ‘open’ plan that the community would gather around in, and where youth can share different ideas and have a safe place to stay. Later on, the elements were catered out especially according to the community of Borg El Arab. They needed libraries, meeting rooms, places where their children can play, and concert halls whether they were open or closed, and that’s what this project offers. This specific location was chosen for multiple reasons, many of which is how far it is from the bridge and the noise it produces, it lies in the center between the two neighborhoods and can easily be accessed wither by walking or by vehicle.

The façade was designed this way according to calculations of the sun movement along with the height difference of each floor, and this is to cool off the offices, with the help of the atrium that absorbs al the hot air.

BUILDINGSPUBLICARCHITECTURE:

Location: Alexandria, Egypt Year: 2016 Setting: University project Type: Economic Software used: Revit, Enscape, Photoshop

It was required to design an office building in the very dense Abo Qir avenue, and the challenge was how to keep it off the cars noise and the burning sun rays. Which explains the dynamic looking façade.
