About Us About Us Last year was the hottest on earth since record-keeping began in 1880 and the forecast for 2017 is hotter yet. The most enjoyable way to cool off is in or near the water. What’s our Story... The initial Coola Cozzies idea seeded in 2004 when we couldn’t find quality board shorts and rashies/sun shirts as Christmas presents for our fair skinned family. Australia’s fourth most common cancer is melanoma. Australia has the highest incidence of melanoma in the world! Why couldn’t we find cool swimwear that provided sun protection? All of us at Coola Cozzies have had basal cell carcinomas(BCC’s) removed, and we have lost a dear friend to melanoma. Being SunSmart is a priority for us and we want to help spread the SunSmart message. Our Coola Cozzies rashies and sun shirts are approved UPF50+ by ARPANSA, providing excellent protection.
