About Us About Us Last year was the hottest on earth since record-keeping began in 1880 and the forecast for 2017 is hotter yet. The most enjoyable way to cool off is in or near the water. How can you do that sun-safely? Coola Cozzies colourful and comfortable swimwear offers you sun protection and confidence to enjoy our beautiful beaches and waterways.
What’s our Story... The initial Coola Cozzies idea seeded in 2004 when we couldn’t find quality board shorts and rashies/sun shirts as Christmas presents for our fair skinned family. Australia’s fourth most common cancer is melanoma. Australia has the highest incidence of melanoma in the world! Why couldn’t we find cool swimwear that provided sun protection? All of us at Coola Cozzies have had basal cell carcinomas(BCC’s) removed, and we have lost a dear friend to melanoma. Being SunSmart is a priority for us and we want to help spread the SunSmart message. Our Coola Cozzies rashies and sun shirts are approved UPF50+ by ARPANSA, providing excellent protection. Besides our fair skin, members of our family are also living with Australia’s fastest growing chronic condition. Diabetes, of all types, is increasing in

prevalence. Diabetes Australia estimates that up to 58% of Type 2 diabetes can be prevented by following a healthy lifestyle, including maintaining a healthy weight and regular physical activity. What better way to exercise than in the water! It is so good for us to relax in, to exercise in, and to just enjoy the water with our friends and family, especially as days heat up. Among our Coola Cozzies family and friends we have gorgeous size 10 girls, gorgeous size 24 girls, handsome size L men and handsome size 4XL men, and we have all struggled at various times to find swimwear that suits our good looks! Coola Cozzies have been designed in bright colours and a comfortable fit, because they are Cozzies we want to wear. We want people of all ages, sizes and skin types to be able to enjoy the benefits of water with confidence. We have had these drivers urging us on, but it was the Queensland drought that began in 2013 and is still raging, that pushed us to ‘just have a go’ at establishing our on-line swimwear business. No rain, no grass and no stock on our Outback Queensland property sent us a little crazy so we channeled all that crazy into Coola Cozzies. Eighty percent of Queensland is drought declared with many communities living through the toughest time in memory. For this reason we have pledged to donate five percent of all Coola Cozzies profits to the Western Queensland Drought Appeal. Thank you for helping our Outback communities.
