RO — Room Only, No food

BB — Breakfast only

HB — Half Board: bed, breakfast, evening meal, no drinks included

HB+ — Bed, breakfast, evening meal + some alcoholic/non-alcoholic drinks

FB — Full Board: bed, breakfast, lunch, evening meal, no drinks included

FB+ — Bed, breakfast, lunch, evening meal + some alcoholic/non-alcoholic drinks

AI — All-Inclusive: bed, breakfast, lunch, evening meal, local alcoholic/non alcoholic drinks

Al+ (UAI) — Enhanced all-inclusive: bed, breakfast, lunch, evening meal, all types of drinks

BB - Bed and Breakfast - the most common meal basis encountered in hotels and included in the room rate.

• Buffet breakfast - a wide choice of hot and cold dishes, including cold cuts, cheese, sweets, and fruit. You can eat as much as you like without limits.

• Continental breakfast – a light breakfast which may include various types of coffee, teas, juices, fruits and all kinds of pastries.

• English or Full Breakfast - an extremely big meal that includes sausages, eggs, tomatoes, fruit juices, tea, coffee, bread and pastries, cereals and milk, jam and honey

• American Breakfast – offers multiple courses as a part of the meal, and Is similar to an English Breakfasts, except that American Breakfast does not offer any fish dish on the menu.

HB - Half Board - both breakfast and evening meal are included in the room rate. Breakfast normally includes drinks - tea, coffee, juice, water, this may not be the case for the evening meal.

FB - Full Board, means that all three meals are included – breakfast, lunch, and dinner. This plan would suit those who don’t want to move around much. As with half board, drinks are only usually included at breakfast, and you have to pay extra at lunch and dinner.

HB+ & FB+

Some hotels offer enhanced versions of half and full board where they include some drinks at lunchtime and in the evenings. The drinks on offer and how much you are allowed to consume for the price you paid for the room will depend from hotel to hotel.

Al - means that all meals are included as well as all drinks, including locally produced alcoholic drinks.

Al+ (UAI)

Enhanced all-inclusive is All Inclusive with a wider range of alcoholic and soft drinks - locally produced and imported ones, sometimes A la Carte menus can be included in Al+

Permanent Tented Lodges

• Permanent structures built on a concrete or wooden bases with canvas tent sides.

• Combine the secluded, intimate atmosphere of tented lodging with the modern convenience of a safari lodge.

• Permanent tented lodges offer breathtaking vistas of the surroundings in a tranquil and serene environment

• Generally offer private decks overlooking the bush, large sleeping areas, separate bathroom and showers with hot and cold running water and electricity.

• Public areas typically include a bar, lounge, dining areas, viewing decks, usually a pool, and a curio shop.

• Some will have Internet, a/c and a private plunge pool.

• Gorilla trekking is safe when all protocols are observed
