Advancing the long-standing collaboration between UNIDO ITPO Italy and Pakistan, several promotional activities were carried out under the framework of the Joint UNIDO-SMEDAItaly Programme, including round tables, professional tours and participation in trade fairs aimed at supporting Pakistani delegations from the local institutions and private sector. Moreover, UNIDO ITPO Italy fostered the Myanmar gemstone industry, in collaboration with the Italian Ministry of Economic Development and the Italian Trade Agency, by facilitating the participation of a Burmese delegation of gemstone mine owners at a trade exhibition in Italy promoting sustainable best practices in the field.
