Guide for Installer

Natural Product

EziMDF mouldings are crafted from high-quality MDF, a reliable and stable material designed for consistent performance. However, as with all engineered wood products, environmental conditions can impact their appearance over time While our mouldings are manufactured to minimize these effects, variations such as slight swelling, surface changes, or minor imperfections may occur due to exposure to humidity and temperature fluctuations

Installation Guidelines:

To achieve the best results when installing EziMDF mouldings, follow these guidelines:

Storage: Store EziMDF in a dry, well-ventilated area to protect it from moisture and temperature fluctuations before installation

Preparation: Ensure all mouldings are clean, dry, and free of dirt, dust, or contaminants prior to installation

Sizing and Cutting: Cut and size EziMDF mouldings as needed, maintaining precision for a perfect fit. Use standard woodworking tools and techniques.

Edge Protection: Any edges exposed through cutting or drilling should be sealed with a suitable primer or sealant to maintain moisture resistance

Fasteners: Use appropriate fasteners, such as galvanised or stainless-steel nails or screws, to prevent corrosion and ensure long-term stability.

Filling: Fill any nail holes, defects, or damage with a compatible filler suitable for MDF prior to finishing

Finishing: EziMDF comes pre-primed and ready for topcoating. Apply a quality topcoat as per the manufacturer’s recommendations for optimal performance and durability By adhering to these instructions, you’ll ensure a professional installation and long-lasting finish with EziMDF mouldings.

Adhesive Fixing for EziMDF Mouldings

Wallboard or construction-grade contact adhesives can be used to install EziMDF mouldings, such as skirtings and architraves, for a seamless, fastener-free appearance This method also eliminates the need to fill fastener holes, saving time and effort

Application: Apply adhesive in continuous beads along the back of the moulding, keeping the bead approximately 15mm from the edges

Bonding: Secure the moulding to the wall using the contact bond method, following the adhesive manufacturer's instructions for optimal results.

Joints: Ensure adhesive is applied to all joints, including rebates, scarf joints, and mitres, for a strong and durable bond

Using adhesive for EziMDF mouldings provides a clean, professional finish with secure and lasting installation.
