Accoya Color is produced by impregnating Accoya with a non-toxic water-based pigment system. The colour system is fade-resistant and leach resistant.

Grading Principle
White patches due to heartwood:
▪ In the middle of board 3 white patches with a combined length of 600mm permitted
▪ Up to 3 spots allowed
▪ At the end of the board < 600mm
Allowable White patches can be in middle or end of board but not both.
Along edge of board < 25mm width
Between boards colour variation (see photos for project illustration).
Boards get slightly darker, and color variation between boards reduced with extended weathering.

Best board face graded to ACO Quality Guide grade. Reverse face can have higher levels of white patches than allowable in grade.

Uptake of the colour system can vary between boards within specification due to variation in wood structure and absorption characteristics between the boards. Colour variation will reduce with time as boards darken
Use Guidelines: Use stainless steel grades A4 (316) and avoid ferrous metals (coated mild steel) Design for low levels of expansion (like Accoya). Avoid leaching of preservatives or tannin from durable timber battens with either joist tape or spacers. See install guide for full details
