Information center

All information on race day will be given at Menntaskólinn í Reykjavík (MR) east of the starting area (see map on page 9).

LazyTown children´s run

The LazyTown Run is for children 8 years and younger. Parents can run with their children but are not registered. The LazyTown Run takes place at 13:30 in Hljomskalagardur, a beautiful garden in the center of Reykjavik (see map on page 18-19). Brothers and sisters can run together but then the older ones have to run in a group with the younger ones. Strollers should be in the back.

Prize Ceremony in Lækjargata (on the stage) The top three runners in each timed distance will recive prizes and special prizes are given to the first three Icelandic runners in the Marathon. The first three Relay teams will also recive prizes. Please notice that this is only an estimated schedule. Before the race

All runners must have their number fastened to the front and visible at all times. Chip for electronic timing must be fastened to the runner´s shoe before the race (in the Relay the chip is fastened around the ankle). For security reasons, runners are asked to write their name and other personal information on the back of their number.

Lost items

Lost items will be brought to the Information center in Lækjargata on race day. After the race any lost items will be brought to the Reykjavik Marathon Office, Engjavegur 6, Reykjavik. Telephone: 00354-5353700.

Medical Service

Rescue teams will provide assistance along the course. Medical Services will be available at the finish area. Prizes All runners who finish the race receive a medal and top three in 10, 21 and 42 km will also get a special trophy. Drawn prizes for all distances, given by Asics, will be handed out at the finishing area. Prizes for 1-3 place in age groups and teams in 10, 21 and 42 km will be handed out at the Reykjavik Marathon office, Engjavegur 6, 104 Reykjavik, on Monday August 24th. See www.marathon.is for results. Top three in 21 and 42 km will receive prize money. For a course record there will be paid a bonus, ISK 100.000 in the Marathon and ISK 50.000 in the Half Marathon. Prizes will also be awarded to the first three Icelandic runners, male and female, in 21 and 42 km.

The data chip has to be securely fastened to the runner´s shoe to give results (in 10, 21, 42 km and Relay). Each participant gets one chip that is linked to his name and number. The chip is not reusable. Chips should be returned after the race for recycling.
