Winter-Spring

General Infor mation

D e a r I t a s c a Pa r k D i s t r i c t Pa t r o n s:

The definition of hibernation is:

the condition or period of an animal or plant spending the winter in a dormant state. Some well known creatures that hibernate are bears, hedgehogs, chipmunks, snakes, bumblebees and turtles. Nowhere did I see people hibernate in the winter. At the Itasca Park District we offer programs and events that will keep you active during the “hibernation” period

Even though our pool has been put to bed, and our ball diamonds maybe covered in snow, there are tons of athletic classes and leagues, the fitness center, fitness classes and all our events that will keep your mind and body in motion

Our ice rink will be ready to go as soon as the temperature allows and the Winter Wonderland at Usher Park will fill the holiday season with fun. As we enter the spring season, March

and April start our bunny events which include various “hunts” and ways to welcome the new season. Itasca is hosting a gymnastics meet in April that will showcase our talented team

As always our outstanding dance program is getting ready for their recital in late spring

Most activities are held inside at The Recreation Center but you can still visit all our parks, especially the Springbrook Nature Center, and stroll on the various paths where you can admire nature in its purest form as it hibernates.

Itasca Park District Mission Statement
