Dear Itasca Park District Patrons:
As we transition from autumn to winter, the Itasca Park District is gearing up for the season ahead. I’m sure the Halloween candy is nearly gone, the trees have shed their leaves, and thoughts of shoveling snow are starting to creep into our minds.
Winter brings an exciting time for our community. For me, December 1st marks the beginning of the holiday festivities. Usher Park will transform into a Winter Wonderland for six weeks, and Santa will be on hand to oversee the fun—caroling, dancing, sipping hot chocolate, and admiring the beautiful displays. Don’t forget to drop off your postagefree letters at Santa’s mailbox!
The Usher Park Gazebo will also host four free photo sessions with Santa throughout the season. Additionally, this year we are offering six Holiday Trolley Lights Tours to spread the festive cheer. Winterfest is back by popular demand for the third year, and we’re excited to host it again this winter!
As winter sets in, it’s a perfect time to wind down, spend time with family, and enjoy the warmth of our community events. Before you know it, we’ll be gearing up for Easter events in the spring, including egg hunts and a visit from the big, long-eared bunny himself.
Winter also gives our ball fields, tennis courts, and pickleball courts a well-deserved break after months of heavy use.
So, as we embrace the colder months, remember that the Itasca Park District offers plenty of events, programs, and activities to help keep the winter blues at bay.
I look forward to seeing you at the lighting of Winter Wonderland!
