*AGE: 24 months by Jan 1, 2024 for Friday 11:30 am class which begins in January 2024.

This transitional class is designed for children who will be attending class alone for the first time. Students will participate in circle time activities, stories, creative art, free play, and snack, while starting basic academic skills. Children may enroll in both a Monday/Wednesday class and a Friday class for a three day option. (CC)

Preschool 2023-2024

AGE: 3 years by Sep 1, 2023 and toilet-trained. Our Preschool program offers your child an introduction to structured learning and socialization using educational games, art, music, and stories along with unstructured play in a theme-based curriculum. The class emphasizes color, shape, and number recognition along with fine motor and social skills. The optional third day extends the curriculum in a smaller group setting in order to provide more individualized attention. The third day of the program is held at Springbrook Nature Center, which provides many opportunities for outdoor learning activities. (CC)

3 Day Options

This class has been developed for students who are ready for an additional day of learning or for those who could benefit from more individualized attention in a small class setting. This program will enhance the curriculum being taught in the Itasca Park District T/TH classes. It includes theme based STEM activities, instructive busy bags, independent math packs, and alphabet readiness curriculum. Students will use the outdoor facilities at the Nature Center each day to extend what has been learned in the classroom. (CC)

Junior Kindergarten 2023-2024

Our Junior Kindergarten program provides excellent groundwork for Kindergarten and future learning. Using a theme-based curriculum, the class emphasizes alphabet recognition, phonics, and numbers. These skills are acquired through a variety of games, art, music, stories, and science activities, along with daily small group work. The fourth and fifth day options extend the curriculum in a smaller group setting in order to provide more individualized attention in preparation for full day Kindergarten programs. The fourth and fifth days of the program are held at Springbrook Nature Center, which provides many opportunities for outdoor learning activities. (CC)

Combine our Enrichment Program with our Junior Kindergarten class to help make the transition to full-day five day Kindergarten a little easier next year. This class has been developed for students who are ready for additional days of learning or for those who could benefit from more individualized attention in a small class setting. This program will enhance the curriculum being taught in the Itasca Park District M/W/F classes. It includes theme based STEM activities along with pre-reading and math skills in a Kindergarten readiness curriculum. Students will use the outdoor facilities at the Nature Center each day to extend what has been learned in the classroom. (CC)
