Students who have completed an AAS in a technical or business related field. Students will be required to complete some additional general education courses, core business classes, and upper division electives for this 120 credit program. Completion of this degree will prepare students to manage or open their own business.

Enrollment priority is a on a first-come first-serve basis as determined by the student’s faculty advising date. Aleks score in Math of 14 or higher, Writing Placement Exam of 2 or higher, or qualify for MTHPT-103 and ENGL 101. The prospective students must have a valid Driver’s License and have had no DUI’s in the past 12 months. Physical well-being, good manual dexterity, and the strength to lift heavy objects are necessary.

To prepare for entry into the program courses in metal or wood shop, mechanical drawing, English, mathematics, physics, and computers are strongly recommended. Activity in clubs or organizations which emphasize leaderhsip skills is also recommmended. There is an opportunity for students to work in industry for a specified time and receive college credit, or to convert work and life experience into college credit for this program.Entrance requirements for degree seeking students in the CNC Mchining Technology include: ALEKS score in Math of 30 or higher, Writing Placement Exam of 2 or higher, or qualify for MTHPT-137 and ENGL 101. Enrollment priority will be given to students on the basis of student’s advising date.

Engineering Technology Fall-8/25

For students choosing to specialize thier studies, one of three optional endorsements may be selected. In the second year of the program, students electing not to take the General (Traditional)Program may direct their study emphasis towards Geographic Information Systems, Civil or Mechanical disciplines, which will result in an AAS degree in Engineering Technology with emphasis in the selected discipline. Entrance requirements: ALEKS score of 30 or higher in Math (Algebra), Writing Placement Exam score of 2 or higher, or qualify for MTHPT-137 and ENGL 101, enrollment priority will be given to students on the basis of student’s enrollment date.

Participants must be members of a paid or volunteer fire department. Technical skills training and certifications are offered through fire departments. Once the required trainings and certifications are acquired, fire service technology credits can be transcripted. Students then complete the General Education core classes and apply for an AAS degree in Fire Service Technology.

Welding Technology

Workforce Training Apprenticeships

Welding application required. Program is participating organization of the American Welding Society’s SENSE (Schools Excelling through National Skill standards Education) Program. All skills and lab assignments are performance-based using standards assigned by the prevailing industrial welding codes. Included in each 30 hour week is study in welding theory and related practical science, and applying knowledge in the laboratory. All graduates are given the opportunity to take the unlimited thickness, all position, welder certification test at no cost to them. Entrance requirements for AAS: ALEKS score of 30 or higher in Math and Writing Placement Exam score of 2 or higher or qualify for MTHPT-137 and ENGL-101, waiting list placement will be determind by the date and time in which the student advised by Welding Technology faculty.
