AN OUTSTANDING BUSINESS STUDENT
Every year, one student from each college is selected to receive the Outstanding Student Achievement Award. This year, the College of Business’s award recipient was Lynnea Dale. Dale is an honors student originally from Nampa, Idaho and graduated this spring with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and Management with an emphasis in Entrepreneurship/Small Business Operations, as well as a double minor in Literature and French. She is continuing on to complete the Master of Business Administration and Master of Accountancy programs, finishing off her education by taking the Certified Public Accountant and Certified Management Accountant exams. After completing her master’s degrees, Dale plans to pursue a career in public accounting somewhere in Idaho. So far, she is looking at potential firms in the Boise and Twin Falls areas but has not ruled out anything else.
“I have loved my time at Idaho State – the College of Business is incredible, and I have had so many terrific internship and job opportunities as a result of the skills I have developed and the networking experiences I have had. The accounting department is really like a family, and I have had amazing classmates and some of the most incredible professors imaginable. I have also been really lucky to be able to minor outside of the College of Business because they provided flexibility, which I am really grateful for,” said Dale. When asked what this award meant to her, she said, “I am still thunderstruck by the Outstanding Student award. It is not something I ever would have thought of, and I am still in shock over having received it, but I am so incredibly grateful to my coworkers, my professors and the College of Business as a whole because they have all done so much for me and have been such a critical part of my college experience.”
