Mechanism of action ALKONT速 EL 3645 acts as an associative thickener, i.e. in liquid shampoos and liquid soaps, it binds to the formulation surfactants, increasing viscosity. In emulsions, the non-polar portion of the molecule binds both in the emulsified oil phase and in the micelles with the emulsifiers. This facilitates the obtaining of the emulsion, allowing for rapid increase in viscosity.
