CANDIDATES FOR ELECTION TO THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES - 2026
Number of years as an ISM parent: 8
ISM Board/Committee Membership experience:
• Co-opted to the Board in September 2025
• Member of the Wellbeing Committee (1½ years)
• Member of the Education Committee (2 months)
• PTA President (2023-present)

Dear Members of the ISM Association, My name is Biljana Kling, and I am standing as a candidate for the Board of Trustees of the International School of Monaco. I have been a committed member of the ISM Association for the past eight years, and both of my children attend the Primary School.
During this time, I have served in several PTA leadership roles, including PTA President for the past three years. Through this work, I remain closely connected with parents, students, and staff, and have gained a strong understanding of the needs and expectations of our school community. I am committed to continuing as a collaborative and constructive voice for parents on the Board.
Since September 2025, I have filled a vacant seat on the Board of Trustees and currently serve on both the Wellbeing and Safeguarding Committee and the Education Committee. I am also involved in two key governance task forces: one focused on rewriting the Articles of Association, and another dedicated to donations, fundraising, and the development of an endowment. These roles have broadened my understanding of ISM’s strengths and challenges, and reinforced the importance of strong governance, educational excellence, and long-term sustainability. Professionally, I work in education for finance professionals and hold an MBA, an MSc in Philosophy, and a Master’s degree in Research. If elected, I will continue to prioritize student wellbeing and educational quality, promote transparent communication and responsible financial planning, and support ISM in remaining a nurturing, forwardlooking school where every child can thrive from Primary through to Graduation.
Thank you for your trust and support.
In order to advance the interests of the Association, the Board of Trustees has nominated and recommends that the following non-parent Board Member candidate be elected to the Board for a period of 1 year.
MRS. ALESSANDRA LIKIERMAN
• Member of the ISM Association from 2010 to 2022
• PTA Representative from 2011 to 2016
• PTA President from 2016 to 2020
• Parent Board Member from 2021 to 2022
• Head of Summer Fête (2 years); ongoing annual support

Dear Parents,
My name is Alessandra Likierman. I was born and raised in Brazil and hold both Brazilian and Italian nationalities. After living in London for two years, I became a French resident in 2004 and have lived in Menton ever since . Although I am a fully qualified dentist in Brazil, I now manage hotels in Menton and Roquebrune with my husband.
I am writing to express my interest in returning to the Board of Trustees, this time as a non-parent board member. I previously served on the ISM Board from 2021 to 2022, during which time I gained valuable insight into the school’s structure, its challenges, and its long-term ambitions. Even after my children left ISM, I remained actively committed to supporting the school. I continue to organise the ISM Summer Fête every year, an event that brings the community together and contributes socially to the school’s wellbeing. I also helped organize the 2 Gala fundraising events - the 20 and 30-year anniversaries of ISM.
My involvement with ISM began in 2011 when I had 2 children enrolled. For ten years, I was an active member of the PTA, including four years as its President, working closely with staff, teachers, leadership and parents. This experience gave me a deep understanding of student wellbeing, community needs and the operational side of ISM.
Fluent in English, French, Italian and Portuguese, and with extensive experience managing teams and businesses, I believe I can continue contributing positively to the Board during this important period of change . Thank you very much for considering my application.
