    Wewereabletoprovide£49,000worthofequipmentlast yearincludingnewwheelchairsatboththemainandnorth receptiondesksforvolunteerstousewhensupporting visitorstothetrustwhomayhavemobilityproblems.We wereabletosupplykeyrapidresponseequipmentknownas anEMMAdevicetotherapidresponsekitthatisheldby theon-callODPteamandfinallywewereabletosupply resourcessuchasgames,booksandsensorytoysforthePaediatricsOccupationalTherapy Department.Weare alsoveryexcitedabout fundingaveryspecial immersivetraining experienceinthenew ambulancecentre.This isfocusedon improvingimmediate careontheIslandto savelivesincritical situationsbothfor individualsandthose involvedinamajor incident”.

          ShanklinandSandown.Aworkinggroup hasbeenestablishedbetweentheIW Councilandthetownandparishcouncilsof Lake,Sandown&Shanklin.Thisworking grouphasbeensetuptolookatarangeof improvementsthatcouldbemadetothe Revetmenttoallowforittobeenjoyedsafely byallusers,includingcyclists.Discussions arebeingheldwiththeworkinggroupon thebestwaytoreconcileanypedestrianand cyclistconcerns.TheIWCouncildoesnot supportbanningcyclistsfromusingthe Revetmentandwillnotbeimplementinga cyclingban.Usersareremindedthatthe revetmentisprimarilyacoastaldefencethat hasthecommunitybenefitofapromenade toprovideaccesstothebeachesand commercialactivities.Asanalternative walking,cycleandrunningroutethatlinks theBaycommunities,wewouldadviseall userstobeawareofeachotherandshow considerationwhentravellingalongthe promenadeandtoremainawarethatrock fallscanoccuratanytime.
