To make your transition to on-campus housing as smooth and as fun as possible, we've gathered some key information to help you get ready for Move-In. Additional information is on our Move2IH page and will be sent to your Islander email throughout the summer. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to our office.

Housing Process Begins Housing applications opens up for all new students. Current residents will receive emails about the priority renewal period.

Renewal Deadline Current residents have until January 31st to sign a lease to keep their same room. Renewals signed after the deadline have a possibility of keeping their same room if not selected. If selected, resident can select a different room.

Room Selection Room selection begins for all residents on February 1st and goes through late July. Room Selection instructions will be sent to those students who have already signed a lease agreement.

Complete Express Check-In Forms In order to qualify for Express check-in you must have signed your lease. Once this

is

confirmed,

you

will

be

able

to

register

your

vehicle,

complete

your

evacuation paper work, review all policies and procedures, and select your room.

1st Installment Due Pay your 1st installment via the myHousing portal. If you are utilizing the Housing Payment Option "HPO" to pay your housing bill, check your Islander Email for email approvol from the TAMUCC Bursars Office.

WALLS & CEILING Adhesive hooks are suggested to hang items on walls and finishing nails are also allowed. You will be responsible for any additional damaged or repairs needed.

RENTERS' INSURANCE Residents are encouraged to secure renters’ insurance for personal property. Miramar is not responsible for damage or loss of personal property. You can obtain such insurance at a minimal cost annually. As a resident of an American Campus Community you are already preapproved with GradGuard. BEFORE YOU ARRIVE CONFIRM YOUR MEAL PLAN You will be assigned a Block Meal Plan based on your room assignment. If you are living in a Residence Hall, you will be automatically assigned to Island 200. If you are staying in Apartments, you will be automatically assigned to Beach 160. You can always add more Dining Dollars or upgrade your meal plan by contacting the $anddollar$ office at sanddollar@tamucc.edu. Visit universityservices.tamucc.edu and click on Islander Dining

GET YOUR PARKING PERMIT To park your car at Miramar, you will need to purchase a TAMUCC Parking Permit through your SAIL account or via the Parking Portal at tamucc.t2hosted.com.

As a resident, you will be able to use the resident parking lots around Miramar. You can choose to purchase a parking permit for 1 semester only, Fall & Spring, or for the Full Year. Parking Services is a division of University Police and can be found online at police.tamucc.edu and by clicking on "Parking Services."

SETUP YOUR MAILBOX & MAILING PACKAGES TAMUCC Mail Services processes all incoming mail for Miramar residents and provide services and supplies needed for outgoing mail, including UPS shipping. Student mail and packages are received daily at the UC mail center and are available by 1 pm Monday - Friday. Mailboxes are accessible during UC building hours. Student will be notified by email if they have an item requiring a signature and must present their $andDollar$ card for pick up. Please note that your mailbox assignment will not be the same as your room.

Sign Up: www.universityservices.tamucc.edu Click on: "My Mailbox" and follow the instructions to confirm your personal mailbox and receive the combination.

SCHEDULE YOUR MONTHLY PAYMENTS Starting July 1st, you will receive emails from our Connect Online Portal where you can setup your monthly installment payments. As a reminder, your housing installments are due on the 1st of each month. Checks, Money Orders, HPO, and online payments are all acceptable forms of payment.

To make a payment online, go to connect.studenthousing.com to register and setup your account and monthly recurring payments.

MOVE IN VOLUNTEERS In order to provide a socially-distanced and efficient Move-In experience, please know assistance from Move-In Volunteers may not be available this year. As a reminder, residents will be

limited to 1 guest

Move-In. If possible, please consider reducing the amount of personal belongings you bring with you to campus. Doing so will help ensure you have a quick and easy unloading process.

There are NO elevators at Miramar so be mindful about what you pack.

August in Corpus Christi is very hot and humid! We will doing everything we can to ensure your move-in is quick and easy. When you move-in, wear cool and comfortable clothing, sunscreen, and stay HYDRATED! Move-In is a busy time on campus so please be patient and enjoy the experience!

READ YOUR MOVE-IN PLAN EMAIL. LOCATE THE CHECK-IN STATION AND DESIGNATED PARKING LOT FOR YOUR BUILDING.

ARRIVE ON CAMPUS AT YOUR DESIGNATED DATE & TIME AND GO DIRECTLY TO THE DRIVE THROUGH CHECK-IN STATION.

RECEIVE YOUR KEY AND DRIVE TO YOUR ASSIGNED PARKING LOT FOR YOUR RESIDENCE HALL OR APARTMENT BUILDING.

UNLOAD YOUR CAR AND HEAD TO YOUR ROOM.

USE YOUR ELECTRONIC KEY TO UNLOCK YOUR ROOM. Use the metal end of your key and place it on the corresponding lock on the door.

Green light will blink for 5 seconds allowing your to lock and unlock your door.

Click on the light button to illuminate the lock at night.

INSPECT YOUR UNIT AND COMPLETE YOUR UNIT CONDITION FORM WITHIN 24 HOURS. It is important to note that your Unit Condition Form does not replace a service request/ work order.

Stop by the Maintenance Station for immediate assistance.

For low priority work order, submit a service request through the Resident Portal at islanderhousing.com.

CONNECT TO YOUR WIRELESS INTERNET. Choose the network named "MyCampusNet" (for 5Ghz devices) or "MyCampusNet Legacy" (for 2.4 Ghz devices).

Open a browser. You will be re-directed to the MyCampusNet splash page Select "Click here to continue."

At the bottom of the page, copy and paste "MAC address" into a word document. You will need that later.

Click "Create an Account" and fill in your information.

Select "Add devices."

Select your device and input MAC address. You will need to do this for all your devices.

Restart device.

UNPACK, RELAX, AND DECORATE!

SETTLING IN! RENT INSTALLMENTS Rent is due on the 1st of every month from August until May. If your rent remains unpaid by the 5th of the month, the resident will acquire an additional late fee of 10% of the rental installment. Payments can be made in person, by mail, or online through connect.studenthousing.com. Acceptable forms of payment are: check, money order, online payment, or financial aid using HPO.

MEAL PLANS & DINING You can use your meal swipes at the Dining Hall, DH To-Go and the Food Truck. There are also other cafes and dining areas across campus where you can use Dining Dollars or meal trades. Dining is not overseen by Housing but instead by University Services.

CABLE & INTERNET Campus Connect oversees the internet and cable services at Miramar. If you need assistance, a MyCampusNet representative is available 24/7 to assist you. Call 833.493.4886, Text Connect to 84700, Chat live at MyCampusNet.com, or Email support@mycampusnet.com.

LAUNDRY Laundry is free for all residents and is available 24/7. Laundry facilities for apartments are located in Buildings 1, 2, and 7. Each residence hall floor has designated laundry equipment located in the kitchen. To submit a work order for any laundry equipment, download the CSC Service Works app.

BIKE STORAGE Bikes must be stored outside in appropriate bicycle racks. Any bicycle that is not attached to an appropriate rack is subject to removal. Bikes must not be stored indoors as it can potentially obstruct the entrance/exit to a unit or building.

GUESTS Your guests are permitted to stay overnight for up to two (2) consecutive nights no more than four (4) times during the lease term. Guests must be escorted at all times and must not be left alone inside any units or in the community.

QUIET & COURTESY HOURS Quiet hours are observed and enforced from 11 PM through 8 AM from Sunday through Thursday and 12 AM through 8 AM on Friday and Saturday, to ensure that all residents have the ability to sleep and study. Courtesy hours are observed at ALL times to show respect for everyone living within the community.

KEEPING IT COOL! DOES YOUR THERMOSTAT LOOK LIKE THIS? Adjust your digital thermostat between 68 and 78 degrees, according to you and your roommates’ preference.

Your FAN setting should always be on “Auto.”

Set your SYSTEM to “Cool” during warmer months and “Heat” during cold months.

When the battery icon appears, place a work order through the online Housing Portal or replace it with two AA batteries.

OR DOES IT LOOK LIKE THIS? Program your thermostat to your specifications by using the “Set” button.

You can specify the times and temperatures for weekdays and weekends for when you: Wake, Leave, Return, and Sleep.

Adjust your digital thermostat between 68 and 78 degrees, according to you and your roommates’ preference.

Click on "For Residents" and login using your Island ID.

Click on "Work Order" tab, select "My Jobs," and hit the "Submit Work Order" button.

Click on your Room Number, select the Category & Item and type up the description and possible cause of the issue.

Enter any other comments on the page and click "Save Work Order."
