After more than 70 years on the throne, Queen Elizabeth II has left a lasting legacy as our country’s longest serving head of state. As we reflect upon the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, many of us within the community may hold a special memory or two. Whether you were lucky enough to meet Queen Elizabeth on one of her visits to Australia (she came to our shores 16 times during her reign) or you were an avid fan from afar, there is no doubt she has influenced many lives, whether you choose to follow the monarchy or not. With the crown now passing to King Charles III, we move forward into a new era, while remembering the Queen for the person she was and the role she fulfilled. 0429 374 raywhitebribieisland.com.au261SEEPAGE25 Mitch Hardy Mitch is currently running an advertising special for all of September and October for locals that read this newspaper!

It is with interest that we read ongoing reports of our new Bribie Hospital to be built near the high school, where the fence line has been placed. Perhaps I’ve missed it but so far, I have not seen any artists sketches or plans for the public to view.

Very sorry to know of Harvey Winston Fewings (Cranky Lizard) passing. Going by his article 2 months ago, the census of 2021 states 56,000 indigenous live on Bribie Island and Caboolture and about 4000 aboriginal and Tories Strait Islanders. I was watching a movie the other week about English people complaining about immigrants coming to the UK and taking their jobs. They said the jobs should be for indigenous people i.e. born in the UK. The dictionary also says, ‘native too’.

I will certainly miss Harvey’s writings, which were a highlight of the month, even if I disagreed with him in both personas. Yes, I guessed it was the same person, because, in spite of his obvious intelli gence, his writing always displayed a bias in his education, whether that came from schooling or his personal experiences, his political predilections or his religious convictions. As a scientist seeking real evidence, I have always found it hard to believe he could think his way. I hope you

Firstly, I will miss Cranky Lizards articles in your paper, to me it was the highlight of reading the paper, and always enjoyed his take on current affairs. I have lived on the Island now for the past 20 years, my parents have been here for nearly 40 years, with my dad, Mervyn Mccullough fast approaching his 100th Birthday (not till next August).

Have always enjoyed reading Harvey's contributions to your paper and would really appreciate a copy of his book if it is still available. Hope you can find a worthy replacement though I doubt that will be easy.

I was quite surprised and saddened by the passing of Harvey. He always bought a smile to mine and others faces in our family. Thank you again for the possibil ity of having a little bit of Harvey with us forever through the ‘Tiger Tea Club Book’.

Wonderful articles on a Harvey Fewings life.

I am writing to express my condolences to Harvey’s family but also to you and your staff there. I looked forward to each edition to see what Harvey had to say in both of his roles. I can’t recall a time when I disagreed with what he said and stood for. Sadly, the woke and cancel culture is steam rolling over those who grew up and worked in the time that Harvey did. I am dismayed at the selfishness of, lack of con sideration of, and the lawlessness by many that pervade our community now. From what I have read of Harvey’s writings for some years now, he felt this way too. We have lost a good man.

James Powell’s life was turned upside down after a motorbike accident in 2009 resulted in him winding up in a wheel chair. Rather than dwell on it, James, who is based in Upper Caboolture, took the path of positivity and worked out what he could do rather than what he couldn’t. Not letting his disability get in the way of his passion for making the most out of life has seen James take part in bodybuilding competitions, bungee-jumping in his wheelchair, get married, start a family and even get back behind the wheel of a car. But there was still one thing he wanted more than anything, to be able to ride motorbikes again.

But it was his determination to ride a two-wheel motorbike again that spurred James on to get creative. Using his background as an aircraft engineer, James was able to modify his motorcycle and get back in the saddle.

“My bike has a dual clutch transmission, so it’s an automatic bike and I don’t have to worry about stalling it,” James says of his thinking in the initial planning stages.

on a quad bike, but there were many rules and restrictions impacting his efforts, including having to provide exact dates and times of each ride.

Following his accident, James focussed on gaining as much strength in his upper body as he could, in a bid for his arms to compensate for what he could no longer use, his legs. Not completely giving up on the idea of riding again, James started out

“I was very much bikes, bikes, bikes,” James says of his younger years. “That was what I grew up knowing.”

It seems, this likely won’t be the last time we see something created by James. He’s currently working on another interesting project, so watch out for that one!

From a young age, James was a keen motorbike enthusiast. His dad also rides, and his mum used to, so it was very much in the family. It was inevitable that he would follow suit.

“I've helped multiple people get back on the bike in various ways,” he says. “So amputees and people who are paraplegics, but incomplete, so they still can have leg movement. They can get on a bike and they can hold it up but they can’t change gears or brake or anything like that. So I was able to show them ways of being able to do it. Giving others advice on how to do things and just knowing you’ve made a difference, I’m really enjoying being able to do that and create opportunities that they never had before.”

“I had my quad bike and I wanted to be able to ride it through the forestry, so we went through the whole rigmarole of jumping through all the hoops and I got it legally registered,” James says. “But every time I wanted to go for a ride, I had to give the police a designated route, talk to landowners, etc and it eventually took the fun out of the experience.”

Bongaree Dental is very excited to welcome back to the practice Dr Renee Brennan. She is much loved and has been missed by her patients and team members alike

“It was all a bit bizarre in the beginning,” he says. “But it’s given me a mental outlet and that’s something we all need. So, it gives me what I used to have being on the bike and so much more now.”

Dr Brennan has been working over the past few years in Brisbane and has now returned home to Bongaree dental to continue high standards of care for our patients.

How James found the best way to get back on his bike

“Then I had to look at the best way to stabilise the bike when I stop because I don’t have my legs to do that. I’d seen a few different techniques of where people had tried to hold the bike up, so using that and a combination of some of the things I’d seen working as an aircraft engineer, I thought I can actually make this happen and Usingwork.”anactuator that talks to pur pose-built computer controls, James is able to lower a set of smaller wheels that helps stabilise his bike when not riding. In turn, he can also raise the wheels when he gets going. It all works like the landing gear on an aeroplane. He also modified foot plates to hold his legs in place while he is riding, and the bike also has a spot to hold his wheelchair. He’s done it all in a way so that he can be as independent as possible but still appreciates help when it’s on offer. He describes the first few rides on his modified bike as quite a

The motorbike James spent months researching and perfecting

Not only has James given himself a newfound freedom, but he’s paved the way for others facing similar circumstances. He’s relishing the opportunity to make a difference in the disability sector and help as many people as possible return to an aspect of their lives which they may never have thought possible.

The park owner often bundles the lease for each individual site together with charges for utilities, although sometimes fees for utilities and facilities are charged separately. Facilities provided may include heated pools, barbecue areas, gymnasiums, cinemas, even bowling greens and off-lead dog parks.

Confusion around rental increases and the conditions around the sale of homes have ignited some fierce arguments between homeowners and park owners over the years. Many of these disputes have escalated into sensational public brawls aired in capital city print media and on television.

We ask that when we come to your home that you practice the government supported social distance of 1.5 meters at all time and to remain polite to our team as they are wearing protective clothing for your benefit and to keep our community safe.

There are 2697 of these MHE home-sites in the Moreton Region, according to state government figures released in May. This is a smidgeon more than the number at the Sunshine Coast, which offers 2675 Bribiesites.

For homeowners already in a residential park, or those considering buying in, the ARPQ can help provide clarity around a site agreement and provide valuable advice on other common issues.

Residents of a traditional retirement home sign a license to occupy in most cases, while the MHE homeowner leases the land under their home from the company running the village.

But state laws that regulate site agree ments have not kept pace in the 21st century. Today’s high-tech homes bear little resemblance to the old fashioned demountables and dongas of yesteryear, and the services and facilities provided by MHE park owners have increased in number and complexity.

It is great to see this premium Palm Cove development coming to life as we welcome the new homeowners to the Island. Unfortunately, like many in the construction industry, the various builders have been plagued with product shortages, supply issues and rapidly rising costs.

It is a rush of building activity at Palm Cove

I spoke to David Young, Operations Manager, QM Properties, to get an update. “Stage one of the Palm Cove Development is well and truly complete with only a few properties available, and Stage two finished by the end of November”, said David. “Property sales have slowed, but prices have remained firm in the changing economic envi ronment. In addition, early-stage work on Duck Creek and the 21-lot Marina precinct is ongoing”.

The new picnic facilities off Cosmos Avenue Cosmos

During our conversation, I learned of one of the great benefits of the new de velopment. Hidden behind some of the original bushland and palm trees are two barbecues with shaded picnic areas, all opening onto the canal. I can imagine local families and friends gathering to enjoy a snag on the barbie, a cold tinny in hand, or a glass of wine, sitting to watch the sunset. Or maybe just a great spot to get together and enjoy New Year’s Eve. Whatever happens, this is going to be an excellent place for the residents to appreciate.

The hammers are banging, the concrete slabs are in the process of being laid, and the framing is going up. It is all action at Palm Cove!

“He’s the biggest baby born at Caboolture hospital so far for this year!” Michelle said. “It’s pretty rare to have a baby this Whensize.”

“I’m loving being a mum of two, it’s been a very easy transformation, especially with all the help my mum has been giving me,” Shania said. “I’m very lucky to have her help. But Oliver is such a good baby anyway, I’ve actually been very lucky with both of my babies.”

In a nod to Shania’s dad, Andrew, who has sadly passed away, Oliver’s middle name is Drew. It seems he is capturing all the attention of onlookers, wherever he “Allgoes.the reactions are amazing, everyone

You would think giving birth to the biggest baby born at Caboolture Hospital so far this year would come as a bit of shock to some, but for Oliver’s mum Shania, she’s taken it all in her stride.

Newborn Oliver, is already setting records and he’s only just one-month-old. The not-so-tiny tot has taken the title of the biggest baby born at Caboolture Hospital so far this year. Weighing in at 5.395kg (or 11 pound 8 ounces on the old scale), Oliver made his grand entrance into the world on Thursday August 18 and has continued to move forward in leaps and bounds.

“He is my second baby, his sister Hannah is now three and she was actually 4.3kg (9 pound 5 ounces),” Shania said. “I was surprised by her size, so had to shop for new clothes for her. But I was more prepared with Oliver and didn’t bother buying any newborn clothes. He went straight into clothes usually for a three-month-old and size two nappies. At two weeks old, he moved into three to six-month clothes.”

Although prepared for a big baby, Shania admits she wasn’t expecting Oliver to weigh more than five kilos. With the initial shock now wearing off, Shania is settling into life as a mum of two.

Oliver’s birth also caused a lot of excite ment for staff at Caboolture Hospital. Oliver didn’t fit in newborn nappies, so staff had to source a bigger size from the paediatrics department. Clinical Midwifery Consultant at Caboolture Hospital, Michelle Hall, said the average size of a baby was usually between 3-4kg. So how does Oliver stack up to other babies born at Caboolture Hospital in terms of size?

“I won’t be having any more babies as I had my tubes tied due to my medical problems,” she said. “I have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome along with Postural Ortho static Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), Sinus Tachycardia and Ulcerative Colitis, so I think that’s enough for me.”

it comes to contributing factors for those carrying and delivering a baby on the larger end of the scale, Michelle said things like genetics and predisposed medical conditions could contribute to having a bigger baby. As for the staff involved in the delivery, they also have to take a number of things into consider “Thereation. are many factors to consider,” Michelle said. “In this case, Mum (Shania), had a C-section to deliver Oliver because he was so big. Then there are things like gestational diabetes, genetics, size of mum’s pelvis, size of baby, if mum has had big babies before, if this is the first or second baby, etc.”

You are warmly invited to join our meetings which are held at 9 am on the second Saturday of each month, at the BCA Hall in Progress Avenue. We are here to support you and your families and in turn are calling for you to join us.

Ever since we humans first walked on this planet, we have experienced pain in one way shape or another.

On the committee we have a number of support roles including a Schools Officer and a Cadet Liaison Officer. The interaction initiated through, these Subbranch Officeholders, with local schools and cadet units, are partnerships we are firmly committed to. Through providing support, from making presentations, commemoration preparation or financially, the ongoing care and added value benefits Veterans’ families and the younger community, at large.

The ancient Greeks believed that their Goddess of Revenge, Poine, was sent to punish them when they experienced physical pain. However, all she really did was give her name to the word ‘pain’. Many ancient cultures believed that physical pain was the punishment given to humans by the gods, therefore, to appease them, sacrificial rituals were performed by magical men and women. Another common practice was to drill holes in the sufferer’s head to release the

In 1897, a Bayer Pharmaceutical’s staff member Felix Hoffman developed a formula to help his arthritic father’s pain and Aspirin was born. He made no mon ey from his brilliant invention. In 1960, Aspirin became the world’s best-selling medicine. Nowadays its consumption is put at over 100 billion tablets annually.

were given opium to relieve pain. As recently as the early 20th century, some physicians were injecting gold salts to treat arthritis. Both electricity and magnets have been used as painkillers and Coca Cola, originally containing cocaine, was sold as the best painkiller in the United States. This however all changed in 1846, when anaesthesia, in the form of ether and chloroform, for surgery was introduced. Queen Victoria is considered the first to have received anaesthesia for childbirth. Before that, Italian doctors put a wooden bowl on the patients’ head, hammering it until the patient passed out. Gassing over a stove and choking patients were also fairly common practices.

Earlier this year our last World War II Veteran passed peacefully, aged 99. In addition to the RSL’s commemorations of ANZAC Day, Remembrance Day and Vietnam Veterans Day each year, engage ment in the local community is pivotal to the Sub-branch activities.

before that, cave men and women were using plant-based medicine to treat pain and illness. They had discovered that chewing the bark of trees such as the Poplar and Willow, relieved pain. These trees’ bark contains salicylic acid, an active ingredient of our common aspirin. Scientists discovered this when examining the jawbones of Neanderthals. Greek physician, Hippo crates, known as the father of Western medicine, also acknowledged the pain-re lieving benefits of both the Willow and Poplar tree bark. Ancient Egyptians too used dried myrtle leaves to relieve muscle pain.

The flags were raised, and Roust played, with the service coming to an end. It was a very poignant few minutes as tears welled up, and you couldn’t help but feel the emotion of the occasion. Afterwards Veterans and spouses retired across the road to the Bribie RSL for a few drinks and a reunion dinner.

Vietnam Veterans Association of Australia (VVAA), Bribie Island Sub-branch President Rod Devenish-Meares welcomed everyone to this commemorative service. Next, Chaplain Reverend Pierre Von Blommestein read the prayer for the Fallen, and Patron of the VVAA Bribie Island, Major General David Ferguson (Retired) addressed everyone and read the prayer for the Queen. Peter Jack son followed, reading the Prayer for the Nation, and then official guests and others laid wreaths at the memorial. As the Last Post played, flags were lowered, fol lowed by a minute of silence and the saying of the Ode.

The community gathered for Vietnam Veterans Day.

Vietnam Veterans Day – 18 August 2022

More than 60,000 Australians served in the Vietnam War, with 3000 wound ed and 521 losing their lives. Vietnam day is nationally recognised and commemorated around the country, and not only remembers the sacrifices made but is very much about healing and reconnection of past comrades.

About 170 Vietnam Veterans and Bribie residents stopped to remember all who had served in Vietnam, particularly those who made the ultimate sacrifice or who have suffered since their return home. It was a very special mo ment for many Veterans as they remembered their friends.

contracted to protect our communities and our citizens as they go about their lawful daily lives.

Communities are beginning to complain. Our Court system, objectively speaking overloaded, deliver a form of therapeutic justice comprising of diversionary programs, rehabilitation houses, and focus groups. ‘Happy clapping’ rather than the application of black letter law.

We know however, because we see it in the print and electronic media, that a major part of that contract has been breached.

twice per week, Australian women are bashed, harassed, or murdered by their partners/husbands, who are free to do so because they have been bailed from Court by unelected, activist Mag istrates and Judges, who are practising therapeutic justice.

fuelled men on bail for previous assaults. And so it goes!

The world, in which these officials inhabit, is not troubled by the brutal reality of the day-to-day struggle for existence by women who live alone and who try to raise children, work, have some kind of social life, and who have ever present in their minds and souls the coiled spring of fear of ‘will he come tonight’, ‘will he find me here’, ‘what will I do when he smashes the down the door’, ‘will the Police make it in time’. No Sir, these officials inhabit the land of small towers and balconies from which they can pronounce their interpre tation of justice.

None of this is anyone’s fault, no-one is responsible except the vague concept of ‘the Government’ and the solution is more money must be spent to fix it. Our money!

Too many nonsense enquiries have been conducted. Too much bullshit has been spread about.

Long gone are the days of black letter law. Assault means assault, murder means murder.

This is now the age of therapeutic justice. Courts, not all of them by any means, but enough, are occupied by, unelected, and therefore not publicly responsible, Magis trates and Judges who have assumed the mantle of community saviours. Perhaps

Large numbers of our citizens feel threatened as gangs of disaffected youths from African countries rampage through Victoria on occasions, and weird loners drive motor vehicles through crowds of people. The Victorian Police appear frustrated and apparently angry at the way that State’s Court system seems to run a revolving door of bail applications, recently addressed by establishing a ‘night Court’. Social crusading journalists, talking heads on our TV screens find ways of justifying everything.

But, in our communities there exists an iron law. The LOCAL even put together a special report in September last year outlining the painful and life-chang ing experiences many residents had gone through and still continued to battle every day. The stories many choose to share at these meetings are raw, filled with emotion and showcase the pain they are living with on a day-to-day basis. Many are seeking answers and want to know what is going to be done to fix the ongoing problems in regard to the health crisis.

It’s the topic that is always on the agenda for our local community but never seems to change, the health system. Now it’s come up again in another negative light, this time in reference to the community health Town Hall meetings, a platform provided for residents to come along and have their say. In a recent sitting of Parliament, Member for Pumices tone Ali King, referred to these health Town Hall meetings as “dodgy” and “dodgy as”.

White Ridge Farm – A kid’s delight

I visited just after lunch one Friday, which appears to be a quiet time of the day after the groups of school kids and others had departed. We passed goats, lots of goats, llamas, alpacas, cows, rabbits, guinea pigs, chickens, dogs, geese, lots of colourful birds, sheep, pigs, piglets, Addy, the miniature horse and Pete, the donkey. Not to forget Gypsy, the camel who snatched the whole bucket of feed out of my hand.

Kids were looking for tasty treats, while the tiny dogs with wagging tails got heaps of attention from new friends. “Just be vigilant with electrical goods in your house,” Laura said. “It can happen in the blink of an eye and you can lose everything. We were only gone not even an hour. You never think it will happen to you and then it does. I was standing in Costco and I realised my Cabbage Patch Doll that I had from when I was a kid was gone and I started bawling my eyes out.

“It was a little overwhelming,” Laura said. “We didn’t even know she had done it. I was going through the house and checked my phone where I discovered she had created the page. Some others in the community have set up an account at the vet for us as well. It’s hard but it’s nice that others are thinking of us.”

Global environmental health day also outlines similar notions as the maritime theme but extends to all environments, particularly those close to home. For us here on Bribie our marine environment is one of the most predominant aspects of our surroundings. As a community it falls upon us to ensure we implement practices to keep beaches and underwater environ ments clean and to educate others about these practices.

Bribie is no exception with our gorgeous beaches and resident dolphins. As the warmer months approach and the tourist season draws closer, it falls upon us to reiterate the importance of protecting and maintaining clean, unpolluted waterways. The month of September brings our awareness to the importance of ensuring clean marine environments through two internationally recognised events.

care about the house, the dogs were in the house and we need to get back,” Ben said about what was going through their minds. “The police were able to track us down because of the rego from one of my cars that was parked at the house. They were asking all these questions and I thought maybe the car had been stolen but then they said they were responding to a house fire. I said mate, there’s dogs in the house!”

World Maritime Day recognises the various marine vessels used across the globe for transport, leisure, and shipping. This year’s theme draws upon greener transitions in order to ensure a more sustainable future. Such a theme extends to global organisations and governments but also encourages communities and the individual to understand what role they can play in ensuring their marine activi ties do not cause harm.

“Milo kept trying to wake him up,” Ben said. “That was heart wrenching to watch. He’s been in pain and pretty anxious as well. It’s been tough.”

a tourist to a waterway or a local, it is always important to ensure local rules are being abided by, such as respecting designated no swim zones. Part of educating ourselves about our marine ecosystems and areas includes knowing when and where to use marine Wevehicles.alllove a day at the beach, or a paddle down the passage. Many simple actions can be adopted to as sist in reducing pollution and harm to our wonderful waterways. Ensuring rubbish is picked up and safely disposed of after a fun day on the beach prevents it from making its way into the sea or becoming an animal’s lunch. Items such as plastic bags and fishing wire pose a particularly high risk given their transparency. Buying reef safe sunscreen, which can be easily found at a chemist or local shops, ensures that chemicals do not leach into the water, which can cause harm to marine plants, particularly corals, whilst polluting the

For Ben and Laura Clark, Thursday August 11 is a day they won’t ever forget. It was the day they received the devastating news that their Beachmere home was on fire. The news was only going to get worse from there. Unable to have children of their own, the duo had a beautiful fur-family they treasured more than anything else in this world. The eldest of their fur brood, Shadow, sadly lost his life in the fire, along with their pet bird, Bandit. Their other two dogs Gizmo and Milo required vet treatment and are still recovering, both physically and emotion ally, from the fire that took their mate.

For now, it’s one day at a time and one step at a time as Ben and Laura learn to navigate a new path in their lives.

The stakeholder forum held earlier this week bought together representatives from 16 organisations to discuss opportu nities to understand diverse perspectives and work together to improve processes relating to minor modifications for people with disability in rental properties.

This month we had a lot of questions about Property Management, and that given the fact there are low vacancy rates across our market, and not much rental accommodation available, how do I get my application for a rental prioritized. When it comes to renting a property, com petition can be fierce. Luckily, there are ways to give yourself an edge over other applicants, like having all the paperwork ready to go. During the first three (3) years, apply your ‘fruit tree fertiliser’ in October, December, February and April. Then no fertilizing after August.

The mango (Mangifera indica) is native to Asia from northern India through to the Malay Peninsula. Mangoes can be eaten fresh, juiced or made into chutneys. The most popu lar variety is the Bowen/Kensington with its bright orange-yellow skin and a reddish-pink blush. Mangoes prefer a sub-tropical climate, so are ideally suited to Queensland. They don’t like cold winds as this makes them slow growing and poor to fruit.

There are three (3) different types of papaws – male, female and bi-sex ual. The flowers of the male trees are produced in large numbers on profusely branched stalks from 50 to 120cms long. The flowers of the female papaw are produced in the leaf axils on single or branched stalks approximately 3cms long. Bi-sexual trees produce both male and female

Papaws arrived here in Queensland more than 100 years ago, probably from Central America. Known by var ious names, Papaw, Pawpaw, Papaya and Pepita, they produce deliciously tasty fruit which can be used in fruit salads and making chutney.

Mango trees grow in flushes during the warmer months of the year, and between these flushes is the best time to prune young trees. Train the trees so as to produce a strong low spread ing framework of four or five main limbs. Fruiting mango trees may be pruned immediately after harvest, although little pruning is necessary after establishment.

main deficiencies is ‘boron’ happening when we have heavy rain or drought conditions causing the leaves to turn yellow from the grow ing point with a downward curling of the tips. The leaves will be brittle in texture and claw-like. The flowers will also drop, particularly in the male plants. The fruit will ripen unevenly, and the sugar level will be low. Boron should be applied to the plants in January when the tree is about 10 months old. When the plants are well established apply 10 grams of boron per Extraplant.watering during July to October helps the flowering and fruiting, in creasing yields in the following April to June. The timing of the watering is important as it reduces fruit wastage and results in better flavour and appearance of the fruit.

To determine when the fruit is ready for picking, cut a mango and inspect the colour of the flesh near the seed. If it is yellow, the mangoes will be ripe in five or six days and can be harvested immediately. They should

Spring is now here! As the nights begin to warm and the days get longer anglers will start to dust off their beach fishing gear for some fun and productive fishing. Main species like whiting, bream, flathead and dart are found locally around Bribie’s surf beaches. Fishing the surf, standing on the beach listening to the waves in the early morning or late afternoon with a rod in a rod holder has an appeal like no other and is truly one of the greatest ways to unwind.

Burley are best for bringing the fish to you. Let them float around your feet in the wash allowing the waves

Rods and reels don’t have to be ex pensive. Rods vary from 9ft through to 12ft in length. ‘Alvey’ reels are the best choice for use in the surf and for ease of maintenance. You can get them wet and sandy, just remember to hose them off when you get home.

Update on signatures for a new Bribie Bridge

To: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland

If you and your friends wish to sign this petition, cut it out, complete and post to The LOCAL News, Island and surrounds, PO Box 1019, Bongaree QLD 4507. Alternatively the completed form can be scanned and emailed as a pdf or image file to belinda@islan dandsurrounds.com.au

Once again because of you we will keep on the new Bribie Bridge campaign. We currently have 1608 signatures. Issue 80 brought us 9 more signatures. Keep those signatures coming!

The Petition of Electors of the Division of Pumicestone draws the attention of the House to the Bribie Island Bridge and the bridge’s limited capability to accommodate the steep increase in the population and visitor traffic to Bribie Island. Also with the increasing number of local and state development approvals, infrastructure has not keep pace with the demands of the Pumicestone Electorate.
