ABOUT THE PROJECT-
While we are busy designing for our needs, being thoughtful for the ecosystem is equally crucial. The animal habitats are not something they can compromise on, and when they need to be treated by veterans, they face difficulties with the environment around them. The well-being of domestic animals is often endangered in today’s society because of the lack of resources to care for abused or abandoned animals. As an architect we shape and remodel the world around us to increase comfort and strive sustainability for a better future. Neglecting animal habitation forms a gap in the logic of sustainability.
Recently, there have been several controversies relating to the animal attacks and how they endanger the society. However, it is often ignored that the strays are not always at fault. The strays frequently lead short and brutal lives beset by health problems such as malnutrition, infectious diseases and injuries caused by collisions with vehicles. Most puppies die before they reach the age of 12 months. On the other hand, street animals also pose a threat to human health. India accounts for almost 70% of the world’s rabies cases in humans, and the prevalence of the disease causes people to fear free-roaming animals.
Caring for animals while at the same time remaining environmentally conscientious shall be the goal of community service. Thus, there is a need for designing an animal care centre that takes into consideration the laws regarding animals, their needs and well-being, aids the human-environment-animal interrelationship as well as is self-sustaining.
The aim of this project is to design an animal care centre which fosters the mutually beneficial relationship among humananimal- environment. Such a facility includes boarding and veterinary care, recreational, training and Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT) areas, as well as social spaces for human- animal interactions. The idea is to make the facility self-sustaining by employing passive design strategies.

ENTRANCE OF THE PET CRECHE THROUGH A SHADED PATH OR A NICHE CREATED. THIS ALSO PROVIDES A VISUAL CONNECTION BETWEEN THE CENTRAL COURTYARD OF CRECHE AND OUTDOOR AREAS.
ROOFTOP DOG FRIENDLY CAFE, ABOVE THE SHADED ENTRANCE. IT PROVIDES VISUAL CONNECTION WITH THE CENTRAL STEPPED COURTYARD.
AN OUTDOOR COVERED DOG POOL IS PROVIDED BETWEEN THE ADOPTION CENTRE AND ANIMAL SHELTER.
CENTRAL GARDEN OF THE ANIMAL SHELTER. THE STAIRCASE DIRECTLY LEADS FROM THE GARDEN TO THE FIRST FLOOR WHERE DOG ENCLOSURES ARE PRESENT.
This Animal Care Centre provides several opportunities for human- animal- environment interaction, in the form of central stepped courtyard, dog pool, dog park, cat park, pet friendly cafes, as well as a walking trail that connects the entire site allowing movement from one block to another. Different functions have been separated into different building blocks to provide them privacy and ease of functioning.
INTERNSHIP STUDIO BIPOLAR, DELHI 02
I interned at the Studio Bipolar, situated in Delhi, for 4.5 months where I worked on various residential and commercial projects. The firm handled Architecture and Interior works. During my internship period, I worked on various project typologies, including interior design, architectural drawings, interior tender set, facade design, electrical drawings etc. I also contributed in the form of vendor and client coordination.
The main project managed by me was One44 Visitor’s Lounge and Sample Flat, located in Jaipur. I delivered the entire interior tender set for the project, including rcp and electrical drawings, false ceiling details, detailed elevations, gfc drawings, design revisions, washroom details etc. I also resolved the minutes of the project such as fabric selection, tile and laminate selections etc.

Patiala Airport (Patiala Aviation Complex), having a site area of 300 acres is a civil aerodrome serving Patiala, Punjab in India. It was built by Maharaja dhiraj Bhupinder Singh of Patiala in the first decade of the twentieth century as a place to operate his aircraft. After independence it was taken over by the Government of India and turned into a civil aerodrome. The built typology in Patiala, i.e., the Sikh architecture is majorly adapted from the Mughal and Rajput architecture. Various elements like the onion domes, multi-foil arches, in lay work and mirror decorations from the Mughal architecture and oriel windows and support brackets from the Rajput architecture are provided. It also has the influence from the colonial architecture in the form of collonades and rectangular pavillions. However, over the years, this vernacular architecture has been lost and is evident only in old built forts.
In an attempt to revive this vernacular built typology, a contemporary haveli has been designed which also caters to the needs of present.
This group housing is designed in the form of 5 dwelling clusters having 89 dwelling units in total, with a total built- up area of 19,000 sqm. It includes 3BHK, 2BHK, 1BHK, Duplex and Studio Apartments.

ABOUT THE SITE-
SITE: Dwarka, Delhi
CO-ORDINATES: 28.597450°N, 77.023290°E
SITE AREA: 12.6 acres (51,053 sqm)
GROUND COVERAGE: 30%
FAR: 2
ABOUT THE PROJECT-
The site is situated across National Law University and near Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University in Dwarka Sector- 16D, New Delhi. It has 2 approach roads each 16m wide, and also has good accessibility with provision of public transports in close proximity.
60% of the site is allocated for hospital (including future expansion), while rest of the area is for staff residential block.
A primary hospital with 100 beds is designed to provide various healthcare facilities including OPD, IPD, ICU, OT, Diagnostics Department etc.
The project is designed keeping in mind the building orientation as well as zoning and accessibility of the services/ spaces. Thus, each hospial space has its own zone and functions without hindering any other zone. All the services are well connected. It fosters a sense of serenity, safety and hygiene.
There are 3 main entries:
A public entry (and exit) leading to the OPD and basement parking.
An emergency entry (and exit) leading to the emergency department.
Lastly, a service entry or a separate entry for the mortuary.
Building zoning has been done based on the urgency and need of the service/ space.
Horizontal zoning on ground floor divides the building into 3 major departments; OPD, emergency and high end diagnostics. A separate service and cafeteria block has also been provided, which connects the OPD and emergency department.
All the three blocks have been connected via passageways.
A mortuary has been provided towards the back side of hospital, separating from the public access.
The monotonous facade of the hospital has been broken by provision of louvers, veneer panelling, jaali walls and green terraces.

COASTAL INTERIORS
TYPE: Residence Interior Design
YEAR: 2022
Individual academic project
ABOUT THE PROJECT-
Residence is a place where one spends maximum time, where one feels safe and comfortable. It should provide peace and good living environment to its residents.
Thus, in an attempt to create a light and breezy design which takes note of the natural environment, coastal interior style was chosen as the concept. The use of whites and blue with hints of green creates a livey environment. Moreover, the presence of natural materials for furniture, decor etc helps in the integration of nature into the interiors. Coastal style allows for bright and cool interiors with minimal furnitures. It makes a space appear larger and provides a sense of openness.
MOOD BOARD
Coastal interior design is evident through the colour palette and the materials used for furniture and accessories. Neutrals like whites are paired with beige to mimic the sand. Pops of blues and greens resemble the surf, skies and natural environment. The intention is to minimize the boundary between the indoors and outdoors and create a light and breezy home. The furniture installed should provide a very comfortable sense. Hence, wooden or distressed furniture paired with wicker or jute is used. Blue vases, striped wallpapers, white beddings, abstract paintings and indoor plants add to the coastal feeling across.
To amplify the light entering in the window treatments are kept to a minimum. Moreover white walls and ceilings help to create a sense of openness and vastness. Wood beams and coffered ceilings are also used to complement the style. Nautical pendant lighting and rattan chandeliers are the statement pieces used to bring out a more natural and coastal outlook. Seashell mirrors and coastal print fabrics have also been provided.
