As we stride into Womens History Month, we must reflect on the voices that echo with empowerment and inspire change within our communities. Recently, an illuminating interview shed light on the profound impact one woman, Brigitta Hoeferle, has had on countless lives. Her words resonated with the essence of empowerment, encapsulating the spirit of Women’s History Month’s theme: advocating for equity, diversity, and inclusion. Brigittas journey embodies the essence of empowerment, transcending individual success to uplift others. Her dedication to communitybuilding, evident through her involvement with Shine2Inspire, illuminates the transformative power of women ’ s empowerment initiatives. She champions energy, education, empowerment, engagement, and entrepreneurship principles through her nonprofit endeavors, laying a robust foundation for societal progress.
Central to Brigitta’s ethos is the concept of reciprocity—a fundamental tenet of empowerment. She distinguishes between two archetypes of businesswomen: those who uplift and those who obstruct. Regina unequivocally aligns herself with the former, advocating for collective elevation rather than individual gain. Her commitment to lifting others up exemplifies the essence of true empowerment, where success is not measured by personal achievements but by the number of hands uplifted along the journey.

In the world of golf, diversity and inclusion have long been areas in need of attention and improvement. However, thanks to trailblazers like Jamie Taylor, a Black Class A LPGA Professional (1 of 23 historically) and Founder of Black Golf Directory, positive change is underway.
Jamie’s journey from humble beginnings to becoming a driving force for diversity in golf is a story of perseverance, passion, and purpose.
Jamie’s love for golf was cultivated from a young age, fueled by her determination to overcome obstacles and pursue her passion. She began playing the game at the age of eight, competing by nine. Following in her godsisters footsteps, Jamie joined the Greater Cleveland Junior Golf Scholarship Fund, a youth program she now oversees. Through this program, Jamie found a sense of community and camaraderie that fueled her passion for the game.
Starting as a caddy at 14 and working her way up to become a head professional, Jamie’s journey exemplifies the value of hard work and dedication in achieving one ’ s dreams. As a golf professional, Jamie recognizes the importance of fitness and holistic education in the development of young athletes. Through her academies, she not only focuses on swing mechanics but also emphasizes the significance of physical and mental fitness, as well as a deep understanding of the game. Her commitment to educating both athletes and parents underscores her dedication to nurturing well-rounded individuals both on and off the course.

Since its launch in 2020, Black Golf Directory has transformed into Golf Pro Like Me. It has grown exponentially and is expanding its reach to include other unique golf professionals. Jamie’s vision of creating a more inclusive and accessible golfing landscape is becoming a reality, thanks to her tireless efforts and unwavering commitment.
Inspired by her experiences, Jamie founded Black Golf Directory a groundbreaking initiative aimed at promoting diversity and inclusion within the golf industry. The inception of the directory was born out of Jamie’s desire to create a platform where individuals of color could easily connect with professionals and businesses within the golfing community. Recognizing the lack of representation in traditional golfing circles, Jamie set out to fill this void and provide visibility to underrepresented groups.
Jamie’s impact extends far beyond the golf course. As an advocate for diversity and inclusion, she is breaking down barriers and paving the way for future generations of golfers to thrive. Her dedication to creating a more equitable and diverse golfing community is a testament to her leadership and vision.
As we celebrate Women’s History Month, let us honor trailblazers like Jamie Taylor who lead the charge for positive change. Through her passion, determination, and unwavering commitment to diversity, Jamie is shaping the future of golf and inspiring others to follow in her footsteps.
