It all started a little more than 100 years ago when a few good men made the first expedition to explore the Arctic region of Greenland - probably the roughest, coldest and inaccessible area on Earth. The men who returned, came back with a wisdom of nature: They had discovered and explored the biggest island in the world, a country of nothing but ice and snow. Today we still salute the brave men who took huge risks and discovered the wonders of nature - The amazing Ice Cap and the beautiful country of Greenland.
In 2007 ISFJORD discovered the amazing characteristics of distilling spirits with one of natures best kept secrets: The extremely pure and soft water from icebergs, that naturally breaks from the Greenland Ice Cap and into the sea in Ilulissat - Greenland far north of the Polar Circle. Water that has been preserved as ice for more than 50,000 years, hidden from the outside world, sealed from any pollutants and almost all forgotten. Just until the very moment, when the icebergs scatter into millions of pieces and the local Icermen harvest a few of them, and melt them into the purest natural Water on Earth.
Distilled with the finest botanicals. Carefully well balanced with a full scent of juniper berries, making way for lemon grass and the soft tones of angelica root, a little touch of cardamom, spicy notes from the mysterious sandelwood, and ending with a slightly sweet and bitter tone of orange. Not to mention the remarkable smoothness from distilling with the iceberg water from Green land.

The Rum is distilled on sugar canes and matured on old Bourbon casks for 3 years. The cask strength rum is then diluted with the pure iceberg water from the Greenland Ice Cap.

ISFJORD Premium Arctic Single Malt Whiskys are made at Braunstein on a copper pot - colon distillery as a single malt batch. All Whisky production are made by hand and we select and use only the finest whisky malt for the distillation.

All ISFJORD Whisky matures on exquisite whisky casks for more than 8 years. The non-peated single malt Whisky matures in Oloroso Sherry casks from Spain.

When the Whisky is ready after 8 - 9 years of maturing in the casks, we blend the cask strength Whisky with the pure and exclusive water from the Greenland ice cap, this pure and smooth water ensures a complete unique Whisky like no other Whisky. We bottle all our Whisky unfiltered to make sure that taste and structure is retained in the Whisky.
The peated single Whisky matures in American Bourbon Oak casks (Married Casks).
This whisky has only a light peated note and is perfectly combined with the taste of vanilla and caramel.
