ABRAR TAZWAR RAHMAN CHOWDHURY

What is your most memorable school moment?

High school has been a journey lled with unforgettable moments, made even better by the people who’ve been there since the start. From Tioman, where Adnan and A an broke my bed and Sahir’s snoring felt like an earthquake, to Ya ’s legendary “that’s what we have in commonnnn” line on the senior trip, every memory is priceless. Whether it was carrying a whole TV for my personal project, accidentally burning my hands in Mr. Jean’s class (and the whole class just laughing), or singing Night Changes on every bus ride, I’m grateful for it all. To A an, Adnan, Taif, Navid, Ya , Farhan, Tajwar, Carlos, Saif, and Talal—thank you for making it unforgettable.

Nothing hit harder than Mr. Rahim’s line: “What we know is so little, yet what we don’t know is immense.” I only understood this when I got to the DP and experienced Math AAHL. Mr. Brian, on the other hand, would occasionally joke around in Cantonese, but he also left me with one of the most grounding lessons: “Be kind to yourself.” It changed how I viewed productivity altogether. Finally, there’s Mr. Gumba, who heard me describe nuclear ssion with words like "inserting" and "penetrating" before I nally said "bombarding." Ever since then, he called it “Abrar-ed the nucleus.”

What was the strangest social media trend that you saw, did or secretly wanted to do?

I kinda wanted to try the Sia Snowman dance trend—it just looked fun. Something about the way people made it look so smooth and e ortless was weirdly satisfying. Never actually did it, but I de nitely caught myself watching way too many videos and thinking, Yeah, I could probably pull that o ... maybe.

What are you hopes, goals and aspirations for the future?

I intend to develop Bangladesh’s rst hypersonic ghter aircraft, a platform designed for air superiority and rapid strike capability. Equipped with precision-guided missiles, high-thrust afterburning engines, and optimized for sustained hypersonic ight. This ghter will embody my vision of a future where Bangladesh will be a leader in aviation .

Dear Abrar,

The day you were born, my life changed forever. I still remember when a nurse called me to make an appointment and asked, “Is this Abrar’s mother?”—that moment, I realized I had found my true identity. Being your mother has been my greatest blessing and pride. Watching you grow with kindness, resilience, and passion has been an incredible journey. Now, as you step into a new chapter at University to pursue Aerospace Engineering, know that the sky is not your limit—it is your beginning. Chase your dreams fearlessly. We will always be standing beside you with love.

ADNAN RAKIB KHAN

What is your most memorable school moment?

Biking with the boys on our senior trip was unforgettable. The open road, the laughter, and the freedom made it special. We raced, cracked jokes, and soaked in the moment, knowing these memories would last forever. It wasn’t just about the ride—it was about the bond we shared before heading o in di erent directions.

What

are you hopes, goals and aspirations for the future?

I aspire to be a professional footballer, pushing my limits and improving every day. Football is my passion, and I’m determined to make it my future.

Parent / Guardian's message

Dear Adnan, We are so proud of you! You've grown so much and amazed us with your dedication, focus and hard work. We pray that you gain knowledge, wisdom and experience in every phase of life that follows this wonderful achievement. And remember, we're always with you, we love you and ready to support you in every way!

inspiration?

Mr. Gumba’s laugh was unforgettable. No matter the mood, his contagious laughter could turn any class into a fun one. Whether we were stressed or just joking around, his laugh always lightened the atmosphere. It was a signature part of our school days.

What was the strangest social media trend that you saw, did or secretly wanted to do?

The 'Devious Lick' challenge was hilarious and ridiculous. People stole the most random school items—soap dispensers, clocks, even doors. I never did it, but the idea of taking something absurd for the joke was tempting.

inspiration?

ADRIANE JEREMY KWASHIRA

What is your most memorable school moment?

Honestly, an unforgettable moment was during our Sri Lanka trip, the boys downstairs decided to hangout late night just to enjoy the beach one last time. We climbed over the fence but then it turned it chaos when dogs started chasing us. We sprinted back and laughed whilst helping Saif up the fence, after that on our last last night, we hosted a WWE match background music and all that, where l proudly defeated Arian (true story), and watching the unforgettable showdown between Carlos and Arafat was legendary. Shout out to Farhan, Wayne and Abrar even though they weren't there.

Each teacher had their own fair bit of air. The most unforgettable would be Mr. Jalaj with his unique talents of music and calling out people during class was hilarious and when he speaks in other languages including the word "shabhash". Mr. Gregory's vibe was pure chill. Mrs. Monique with her random burst of French and Spanish and Mr. Dixon with is iconic " "young man" and his engaging stories from his life. Mr. Gumba with his jokes upon students.

What was the strangest social media trend that you saw, did or secretly wanted to do?

Not much of a social media person but I would say the milk crate challange and the shampoo one. I won't say much on this, but it's self explanatory and l did do the crate stake, which did not end well.

What are you hopes, goals and aspirations for the future?

l hope to combine my passion for technology and business and integrate it to create a unique solution for an existing problem, which l won't say here, but it would be related towards banking and technology

AHMED TALAL ONNOY

What is your most memorable school moment?

School was a whirlwind of unforgettable moments—trips with friends, exploring new places, running, climbing mountains, and late-night talks during school trips. From beach volleyball to tea picking, Ya ’s torn shirt, and Ms. Nance catching me mid-stair jump, every moment felt like an adventure. Gaming sessions, movie nights, and getting into trouble with friends added to the fun. Cramming late at night, awkward yet hilarious class conversations, acting in plays, working with kids in service, and eating questionable but legendary school lunches—especially the steak—made every day unforgettable. The friendships, teamwork, and chaos made it all worth it.

inspiration?

What are you hopes, goals and aspirations for the future?

I hope to become good engineer, being able to help and support others, as I was supported growing up. As I supported in pursuing my dreams, being able to study despite my circumstances by some people acting as my pillar to rely on, like my family and friends, I wanna be able to become the same pillar for others, to pass on what I have learned and earned.

Parent / Guardian's message

To my beloved son, Ahmed Talal Onnoy—

Watching you graduate high school lls my heart with indescribable pride. This milestone is more than just academic—it's a testament to your growth, resilience, and kindness. The knowledge, values, and compassion you’ve nurtured at ISD have shaped the remarkable young man you are today. I know your father would be even prouder than we are, seeing his strength and ambition live on in you. Life won’t always be easy, but my prayer is that every dream you hold comes true. My love and faith in you are endless.

What was the strangest social media trend that you saw, did or secretly wanted to do?

Mr. Gumba’s famous words, “Listen to what I’m not saying,”, but also he pushed us to work hard beyond what was spoken, leaving a lasting inspiration. Mr. Jalaj, turning Arafat’s head into a parabolic diagram, gave us a laugh while making math make sense. Mr. Dixon, the goated footballer, doubled as an incredible English teacher and coordinator, always there for us. Mr. Chris’s re shirts and music taste made economics engaging and inspiring. And Ms. Ishrat’s discussion den turned Bangla into something more than a subject—it became a beautiful way to stay connected to our mother tongue and culture. Tide pod challenge was by far the craziest I've seen. And hit

AFFAN MOSHARRAF

What is your most memorable school moment?

Throughout my time at ISD, I've made many memorable momentsfrom breaking Abrar's bed late night at Tioman (twice) to Ya 's cow-milking skills during the senior trip. My 14 years at ISD have given me too many memories to choose one as the most memorable. Each moment I've shared with my friends, peers and faculty, good or bad, has moulded the person I am today. And I will forever be grateful for all of it. Each moment is a part of my journey I wouldn't trade for anything... except money, lots of money.

What are you hopes, goals and aspirations for the future?

Being able to do the IB at ISD has opened up many pathways, but as I move forward in my journey, I believe my path is to pursue an interest in business and contributing to the community around me.

What was the strangest social media trend that you saw, did or secretly wanted to do?

People eating Tide pods.

ANDREA FABIOLA OVIEDO URBINA

What is your most memorable school moment?

Honestly, every single time I laughed with my friends, it was always over the silliest things no one else would nd funny. So when I look back on my high school days, I will hopefully be reminded of every time I laughed until my ribs hurt. I will also look back with fondness, because those around me nally taught me what unconditional friendship truly means—a life lesson I will be forever grateful for. (Also that one time I got stuck in the bathroom because I kicked the door too hard, but blamed it on the door).

What are you hopes, goals and aspirations for the future?

My goal is to graduate from LSU with a chemical engineering undergraduate degree and, after some time, apply to my dream university, Imperial College, for my masters. I also hope I get to experience a little bit of everything—I’ve always wanted to learn how to ice skate.

mannerisms or moments of inspiration?

This one time Mr. Dixon tried to set a 10 minute timer, but he kept writing 10 hours or 10 seconds. No one else seemed to notice, so I told my friends… I genuinely cried laughing that day.

Dr. Kevin saying “well….” after an unhinged global politics take.

Starting French with “Quelle est la date d'aujourd'hui ?” Ms. Monique has an incredible voice!

Mr. Gumba’s iconic “listen to what I am not saying.”

Mr. Basil saying “Tsunami”.

What was the strangest social media trend that you saw, did or secretly wanted to do?

Not precisely a weird trend, but I did spend a lot of time in middle school learning dances. Looking back, recording them in the hallway with my friends… we must have looked mental. Even so, I bet a lot of people can still do the renegade. Also, some of the songs were rather questionable.

My most memorable moment in high school was the senior trip and spending time with friends at the senior lounge.

What

are you hopes, goals and aspirations for the future?

What was the strangest social media trend that you saw, did or secretly wanted to do?

The strangest social media trend I did was the ice-bucket challenge where I poured a bucket of ice and cold water on myself then jumped into the pool.

I’ll be heading to Toronto to study Psychology at the University of Toronto which is a dream I always had since childhood. I hope to pursue a master’s degree in a di erent corner of the world to broaden my perspectives, and eventually work in a eld related to counselling and mental health.

AMEENAH SOHA AZAM

What is your most memorable school moment?

Some of my favorite memories are from the school trips we went on those were the times we really bonded. Sharing snacks in our rooms late at night, bonding over our struggles something about being outside the classroom brought everyone closer. We laughed more, talked more, and made memories that felt like little adventures. It wasn’t about where we went, but the weird, fun, unforgettable energy we had together.

What

are you hopes, goals and aspirations for the future?

I want to explore di erent things, learn along the way, and see where life takes me. Whatever I do, I hope it’s fun, meaningful, and a little unexpected. I’d love to travel more, try new experiences, and just enjoy the ride while guring out what ts best for me.

Parent / Guardian's message

I am so proud of the person you’re becoming. Watching you grow through these years has been a joy, and am excited for all the new adventures ahead. Keep being curious, kind, and true to yourself

What are your most memorable faculty catchphrases, quirks, mannerisms or moments of inspiration?

Even though we only had him for a year, Mr. Brian’s “Oh my Buddha!” really stuck. It was so unexpected and funny that now we sometimes catch ourselves saying it too. Then there’s Mr. Dixon, whose very amused smile shows up every time we say something weird—which is pretty much all the time. It’s like he’s trying not to laugh, but he de nitely is inside. These little things made classes feel lighter and more real.

What was the strangest social media trend that you saw, did or secretly wanted to do?

Any silly TikTok dance that involves a group of people, or TikTok’s that involve pranking people such as with, “We listen and we don’t judge,” are both fun trends that I would enjoy and like to do.

ARIAN KHAN

What is your most memorable school moment?

One of my most memorable school moments was playing in the inter-school cricket match. Our team had been practicing for weeks, and the excitement was sky-high. I was a middle-order batsman, and during the match, we were in a tough spot. When I went in to bat, we needed 30 runs in 5 overs. With teamwork and focus, I managed to hit the winning runs with just a few balls left. The cheer from my teammates and friends was unforgettable—it felt like a real stadium moment!

One of the most memorable faculty catchphrases came from our math teacher, who always said, “Math is not a problem, it’s a puzzle!” He had this quirky habit of talking to the whiteboard while solving problems, then turning around dramatically as if revealing a magic trick. His energy made even the toughest topics enjoyable. Another inspiring moment was when he stayed back after school to help a few of us prepare for a competition, saying, “I believe in you more than you believe in yourself.” That really stuck with me.

What was the strangest social media trend that you saw, did or secretly wanted to do?

One of the strangest social media trends I saw was the "In My Feelings" challenge, where people danced beside moving cars. It was wild—and honestly, a bit dangerous. I never tried it, but secretly I wanted to do a safer version just for fun. Watching everyone—from celebrities to classmates—jump out of cars and start dancing in sync was oddly entertaining. It was one of those trends that made no sense but somehow brought everyone together for a laugh.

What are you hopes, goals and aspirations for the future?

I hope to pursue a career that blends creativity and impact, where I can grow personally and professionally. My goal is to keep learning, take on meaningful challenges, and make a positive di erence in people’s lives. I aspire to be someone who inspires others through passion, resilience, and kindness.

Parent / Guardian's message

As a parent, watching our child grow through each stage of school has been a journey lled with pride and joy. We’ve seen them face challenges, build friendships, and discover their passions. As they step into the next phase of life, we hope they carry forward the values they've learned here and continue to dream big, stay kind, and believe in themselves. The best is yet to come.

FARHAN NAFIM TAREQ

What is your most memorable school moment?

An unforgettable school moment was running for co-presidency. I still remember when my friends and I planned a chant on school grounds—what started as a small group grew as students from all grades joined in, chanting our names. It was a surreal experience. But beyond that, every moment was a memorable moment in this school. I want to thank the people who have given me memories that will remain forever. To Adnan, Adriane, Arafat, Talal, Abrar, Shahyaan, Wayne, A an, Carlos, Arian, and Taif. To those who left but remain my brothers—Yusa, Tajwar, Za r, and Eshan. Thank you.

Farhan is very special to us and his grandparents. When he was a baby he always was so fragile and small. As a kid he was very naughty, skipping his homework and playing sports and games with his friends all day. It is hard to believe that now he has grown as a complete full- edged adult graduating high school. It is di cult to let go of that baby Farhan, but now he is strong, strong in body, strong in personality, and most importantly strong on his ambitions. We pray to the almighty for the prosperity of his future.

faculty catchphrases, quirks, mannerisms or moments of inspiration?

Most memorable faculty quirks I can remember is Mr. Jalaj bullying Carlos every class for fun. Also Mr. Brian once telling me that he will beat me up like they do in Chinese households. That was pretty funny. Also can't forget Mr. Kevin's addicting laughter which makes you laugh with him even if you dont know why you are laughing. Ms. Costa was always so kind to me as-well even though I didnt do her homework. Lastly, Mr. Eugene when he starts dancing singing out of nowhere which makes you think he would want to be a music teacher.

What was the strangest social media trend that you saw, did or secretly wanted to do?

I have seen a lot of strange social media trends. For me I have no idea what social media trend I would do, probably the Kiki challenge.

KIANA MAHBOOB

What is your most memorable school moment?

Whale-watching during Week Without Walls in Sri Lanka. Funnily enough, it was not when we saw the whales—no, that was surprisingly, comparatively underwhelming—it was when we were sailing at high speed across the Indian ocean. All of us were crowded near the bow of the boat, holding on to the railings as the boat skidded across the water. The wind blew at our faces, and the view of the open ocean was stunning. I remember Suvani and I sharing airpods and listening to Shawn Mendes at some point during this experience.

Mr. Eugene showing o his singing and dancing skills as he holds a mini concert for us in the auditorium while we, his students, are sitting in the audience, furiously scrambling to nish our theater IAs. He brought more laughter into our classes in the midst of all the stress and anxiety of DP2.

What was the strangest social media trend that you saw, did or secretly wanted to do?

I really want to do the tortilla slap challenge that I have seen on TikTok and Instagram with my friends. We ll our mouths with water and then play rock-papers-scissors. The loser gets slapped across the face with a tortilla, and the goal is to not spit out the water from laughing. It's easier said than done. It's really hard to not crack up after you have smacked your friend in the face with a tortilla.

What are you hopes, goals and aspirations for the future?

I want to travel, learn more about the world, and make friends and connections in di erent countries. I also want to pick up some interesting skills like improving in chess, learning how to play cards, learning photography, and relearning nunchucks.

Our Poem to Kiana:

Kiana runs, Kiana ies, Chasing dreams beneath the skies. Fierce in spirit, bold and true, With every game, she starts anew.

A heart so kind, a mind so bright, She stands for all that’s just and right.

She lifts up friends, she leads with grace, A champion’s re lights her face.

With every step, with every play, She turns the game her fearless way.

A sister strong, a daughter wise, With love and laughter in her eyes.

She questions rules, she breaks the mold, Her mind is sharp, her heart is gold. No mountain high, no dream too tall, Kiana dares to chase them all.

A force of heart, of grit, of fun— Kiana shines like the rising sun.

What is your most memorable school moment?

My most favourite memory at school isn’t technically at school, but in Week Without Walls in Chiang Mai. I vividly remember Ms. Mariig, my math teacher was teaching one of my friends who was also my roommate how to shower because she didn’t shower for days. LAMISA SAYARA SADAT

What is your most memorable school moment?

One of my most memorable school moments was during our senior trip. On the last night, we had a special dinner with an incredible menu. Shakira and I indulged in two whole plates of shrimp, followed by chicken and beef ribeye. We each had two plates, while Raneisha had just one, and the teachers sitting beside us couldn’t stop laughing at how we ate. To top it all o , we ended the meal with the most delicious mousse and by the time we were done, we were so full that we practically went into a food coma.

Another unforgettable moment was when Raneisha fell asleep before Shakira and me. We decided to take her picture. The funniest part was that we used the camera ash, and the phone was right in front of her face. The ash woke her up instantly but kept pretending to sleep.

MAHMUDUL ALAM BIJOY

What is your most memorable school moment?

One of my most memorable moments from school was experiencing the Week Without Walls trips. Our rst trip to Tioman Island, Malaysia, was unforgettable—the beach was absolutely beautiful, and it felt like paradise. Then came Sri Lanka, which stood out because of the amazing bonding moments with both teachers and students. I’ll never forget when Mr. Perry started playing piano during dinner—I had no idea he could play! Our nal trip to Gazipur, Bangladesh, was equally fun. The resort was stunning, and we made great memories biking around and playing FIFA late at night thanks to Shahyaan bringing his Nintendo.

What are you hopes, goals and aspirations for the future?

My future goals are to complete my university education and eventually take over my dad’s business. It’s something I’ve always looked up to and been inspired by, and I hope to continue and grow what he’s built. We know you’re destined for great things, and this is just the beginning. Congratulations, we love you beyond words!

I honestly can’t remember any speci c faculty catchphrases, but one thing that always stood out to me at ISD was seeing Mr. Shobuj randomly walking around campus. No matter where or when, he would always greet me with a big, warm smile. It was such a simple gesture, but it always made my day a little better. He’s the soul of the theatre class and brings such positive energy to the school. His presence alone reminded me of how special and close-knit our school community really is.

What was the strangest social media trend that you saw, did or secretly wanted to do?

One of the strangest social media trends I remember was the “devious lick” trend, where students would steal or mess with random school property and post it online like it was some kind of achievement. It wasn’t about stealing stu for personal gain—it was more about taking things that seemed totally ridiculous, like a classroom chair or an entire toilet seat. What are you hopes, goals and aspirations for the future?

I want to keep dreaming endlessly, never losing sight of who I am, whether in law, teaching, or wherever life takes me. No matter what, I’ll keep chasing ambition and embracing every possibility.

You've spent years worrying about the future, chasing perfection, and perfecting the ne art of social awkwardness. And through it all, you've left behind a trail of evidence—half- nished projects, co ee cups in every corner of the house, and mysterious co ee stains on the kitchen counter that no one will ever claim responsibility for. Truly, an artist at work.

Now, you're stepping into the great unknown, where deadlines are still a thing, but no one gives you a rubric. So take everything you've learned—problem-solving, critical thinking, and, most importantly, how to function on ca eine—and go conquer the world. Or at least, try not to burn through your rst paycheck on fancy lattes.

Congratulations, graduate! The world is only slightly ready for you. - Dad

MOHAMMAD SHAHYAAN

What is your most memorable school moment?

On the last day of grade 12, us boys explored the school and the secret areas where we aren't allowed to be in. We went all the way up to the ISD buildings roof top. The most memorable part in this event was the thrill and sheer enjoyment I felt when I took part in the activity. After this we walked around the whole of ISD form the elementary building to the secondary. This was very nostalgic for us as we saw all the areas from our childhood and saw where we all grew up.

What are you hopes, goals and aspirations for the future?

I hope to be successful, well known, and respected in the eld I intended on going into. Also to make my family proud, and my future family to be happy. I hope I am able to provide everything for my family and friends.

Parent / Guardian's message

Congratulations, son! So proud of you. Feels like yesterday I was dropping you o for the rst day of your school and can’t believe you are graduating today. Keep shining, keep striving and believe is yourself as much as we believe in you. May you future be bright and blessed. You will always be in our hearts and prayers as you start the next chapter of your life.

The most memorable faculty moment I had was with Mr. Jalaj and Mr. Dixon. It was always hilarious when Mr. Jalaj used to move us around and we used to laugh at each other for getting moved. With Mr. Dixon It was always fun to play football and joke around with him, we would always have a good laugh when talking to Mr. Dixon.

What was the strangest social media trend that you saw, did or secretly wanted to do?

I have always wanted to do the Coca Cola and Mentos trend properly. However, it never worked for me. It was a really big trend during 2018-19. I rst tried it with my brother in our parents bath tub so we keep things clean. The coke barely erupted and only over owed which wasn't that amusing to watch.

MOHD SAIF KALIM

What is your most memorable school moment?

My most memorable school moment would be the senior trip where we all had made so many memories and out of all those memories my favourite one is our last night at the resort where all the boys were going nuts together in one room we were literally doing nothing but still have the best time of our lives because we all were together. This was my favourite memory because this was at one time we were away from school and away from our stress and just having fun.

What are you hopes, goals and aspirations for the future?

My goal is to complete my education and join my dad's business to look after his empire hoping that I can create the legacy my dad has left.

My most memorable faculty catchphrase would be Mr. Gumba's "Hehehe My friends" this catchphrase made the entire class laugh and would always lighten the mood despite whatever situation we are in.

What was the strangest social media trend that you saw, did or secretly wanted to do?

The strangest social media trend I saw was people posting their baby pictures and current pictures then making it a trend for what reason I don't even know.

My most memorable school moment has to be the senior trip. Although there were countless fun moments to choose from, my favorite was Shakira teaching me how to ride a bicycle and when I thought I got the hang of it I bumped into Shakira and Lamisa and we all fell and Shakira hurt her back.

What

My hopes and goals for the future are to become a successful businesswoman and establish my own business, as I have always dreamed of studying business and pursuing entrepreneurship.

Most memory was by Mr. Dixon. This one time I asked him "Mr. Dixon how is it that you only get sick on weekends and you never get sick on weekdays?" The next day Mr.Dixon came to class and he told me "Raneisha, you cursed me."

RODELA AHMED

What is your most memorable school moment?

I can’t choose just one single moment, but if I had to, it would be sitting in front of the admin building with my friends in Grade 10, having conversations that ranged from lighthearted gossip to deep, heartfelt discussions. Honestly, any memory with my friends stands out—without them, I wouldn’t have made it through high school. In the midst of all the noise, they truly heard me.

What are you

mannerisms or moments of inspiration?

Mr. Eugene constantly rolling the "R" in my name will always be a core memory. But on a more serious note, I saw Mr. Eugene as a second father. His fun (and sometimes annoying) personality helped me stay sane through the toughest classes, but more importantly, he gave me the con dence to grow throughout my years at ISD. I went from being a shy, quiet girl who was terri ed to step on stage to someone unafraid to scream and throw a chair in front of a room full of audience. He pushed me to become the theatre student I am today.

What was the strangest social media trend that you saw, did or secretly wanted to do?

I low-key wanted to partake in the Makeup Get Ready With Me (GRWM) trend but never found the time to. Hopefully, I'll create one and share it with my friends.

What

is your most memorable school moment?

If I had to pick one, the senior trip (which could have been longer, thanks a lot ISD) was the only one that came into mind. Being able to self initiate activities, such as learning how to ride a bike on the Senior Trip, in addition to making memories with all of my friends were moments which I am unable to make a time machine for.

What was the strangest social media trend that you saw, did or secretly wanted to do?

Trends on TikTok are crazy! Nothing compares to seeing someone attempt to maintain composure while being struck with a tortilla, which is why the "Tortilla Slap" challenge made me laugh so hard. The "What Emotion Am I?" lter produced the most confusing results, while the "AI Yearbook" lter made us all appear like 90s comedy stars. And the "Griddy" dance, too? SK. MD. ARAFAT BIN ABDULLAH

What is your most memorable school moment?

One of my most memorable school moments at ISD is the lunch break football matches that began in primary and became the highlight of my days, especially during MYP. The games were always competitive and exciting, something I looked forward to every day. I also have fond memories of spending time in White Canary, laughing and joking around with my friends. Over 16 years, ISD became more than just a school—it became a family, I’m deeply grateful to everyone—from the cleaners and maids who cared for me since playgroup, to the teachers and friends who’ve become such an important part of my journey.

mannerisms or moments of inspiration?

One of the most memorable faculty catchphrases has to be Mr. Kruse’s classic, “Let’s talk about Kevin.” Every time a big deadline was coming up, he’d say it like we were about to have a casual chat when really, it was a warning that we needed to get moving on our work. It was funny, a little stressful, but got me to do work.

What was the strangest social media trend that you saw, did or secretly wanted to do?

One of the strangest trends I saw was TikTok dances. I always said they were silly, but honestly, I secretly wanted to try them. Everyone was doing them and having so much fun, and some of the moves actually looked kind of cool. I’d watch the videos and even learn a few steps when no one was around. I never posted anything, but part of me still wishes I did.

What are you hopes, goals and aspirations for the future?

In the future, I hope to become a data analyst. I’ve always enjoyed working with numbers, spotting patterns, and solving problems. My goal is to keep learning about technology and data so I can help businesses make better decisions and grow. I want a career that’s challenging and meaningful.

VANISHA GOEL

What is your most memorable school moment?

A core school memory is hiding behind the school boundary wall with friends, waiting to surprise pedestrians with a loud "Hello!" Their reactions—startled jumps and angry shouts—always had us laughing. It became the ultimate stress-reliever after tough days. My disco-themed 16th birthday was a blast with dancing, karaoke, and MOCKtails. My 17th, during senior trip, was unforgettable—at midnight, the girls surprised me by singing Happy Birthday and made me cut a stolen cake from the dinner bu et. And of course, the tauba-tauba Holi madness—chasing Mr Dixon(who runs really fast btw), colours, and jumping into the pool!

What are you hopes, goals and aspirations for the future?

I hope to make a meaningful impact through data science, using analytics to drive innovation and solve real-world problems. My goal is to work on sustainable solutions, combining my passion for math and technology. I aspire to keep learning, stay curious, and contribute to a more equitable world.

CEO Gumba's signature greeting, "AAAh ma friend!" followed by, "Listen to what I’m not saying," using reverse psychology to keep us on our toes.

Mr Dixon, with his sophisticated way of putting on glasses: "Young maan, u r late!"—only for him to be late the next three classes.

Mme Monique's enthusiastic "Bonjour tous le claseee!" on lundis instantly woke us up. I’ll truly miss the energy she brought every morning, especially on lundi."Qeulllleeee essst la date au-jord-hui?"

"This is a beautiful question," Mr Rahim would say before throwing us into a problem that left us questioning our life choices.

What was the strangest social media trend that you saw, did or secretly wanted to do?

One of the most infectiously energetic social media trends I've come across is the "Me Jalo" dance trend. The song by Fuerza Regida is so peppy, fun-loving, and groovy—perfectly matching my personality, and it’s been stuck in my head for days! Although it's a trend usually done by couples, I’d love to try it with a friend who's just as crazy as me. The moves are simple but t the song perfectly.

WAFA JAHAN SHAKIRA

What is your most memorable school moment?

Back when I was technically Class of 2024 (before life hit me with the plot twist), my favorite memory was hands down personal project season. For once, the entire grade wasn’t side-eyeing each other, we were actually happy and united. Peak human experience and let’s not forget the legendary ‘Lungi Dance’ performance at the opening ceremony. If you weren’t there, you missed history. But honestly, the best part of restarting a grade? Meeting Raneisha, Lamisa, Zareen, and Zara. y’all made this whole redo thing feel less like a setback and more like a second chance at something amazing. Wouldn’t have met you guys otherwise, and for that I’m actually glad.

What

are you hopes, goals and aspirations for the future?

Mr Gumba: Listen to what I am not saying... (Translation: there's a surprise summative coming, but good luck guring that out in time.)

Mr McMahon: Will you guys shut up?! (the uno cial cue for the class to get slightly quieter... for about 5 seconds.)

Mr Dan (to my friends): Y’all remember when she used to come crying to my o ce every single day? (elite throwback to me grieving class of ‘24 like they were some lost civilization.)

Dear Graduating Class of 2025 – ISD Legends in the Making!!

You made it! After surviving exams, internal assessments, group projects, sleepless nights, and a lot of crisis moments each semester, you’re nally graduating! I knew this day would come… I just wasn’t sure if your CAS re ections would be done in time (for some).

You've conquered the IB jungle armed with only a calculator, a ca eine addiction, and some serious procrastination skills. Honestly, your ability to write a 2000 or 4000 word essay “the night before it was due” is nothing short of heroic. You deserve a medal... or at least an iced co ee (If you go to Canada, an Icecap at Tim Hortons)

As you step into the world beyond ISD, remember:

- Life won’t always give you rubrics.

- There’s no command term for “growing-up”

- And sadly, there’s no “command-Z” in real life.

But you’ve got everything it takes. Intelligence, resilience, creativity... and let's be honest, a terrifyingly impressive ability to “wing it.”

Go out there, Class of 2025, and make ISD proud.

Congratulations!!!

Dear Class of 2025,

As you step beyond the gates of the Academy and into a world full of opportunity, I hope you carry with you the curiosity, resilience, and compassion that de ned your time here. Never stop asking questions, challenging yourself, or standing up for what matters. You are more than capable — you are ready. Go forward with courage, kindness, and the con dence that you can shape the future for the better. Wishing you all the success, joy, and meaningful adventures life has to o er.

With best wishes, Basil Malcolm Chesney

I remember the time when I rst met you, back in Grade 11, during those drama rehearsals. Your dedication and passion were truly inspiring, and it was clear from the start that you had something special. Now, as you stand on the brink of graduation, it's amazing to see how far you've come.

As you step into this new chapter of your life, a world full of challenges and beauty awaits you. I love you all, and I can't wait to see where life takes you next. Congratulations and good luck!

Dear Class of 2025,

It feels like just yesterday we were trekking through the breathtaking landscapes of Tioman during my very rst Week Without Walls. That trip with you remains one of the most memorable moments of my journey here. Your passion, dedication, and genuine care for one another truly amazed me. The way you supported the team, helped each other, and brought laughter and light into every moment was heartwarming.

Beyond the trip, your everyday warmth—your greetings, your smiles, your respectful presence—will be deeply missed. You've left an impression that goes far beyond classrooms and corridors.

As you step into the next chapter, I wish you all the success your hearts can hold. Grow big, but remember—true greatness often lies in the humility to bow down and lift others as you rise.

With heartfelt wishes,

Dear Graduates,

Congratulations on reaching this incredible milestone! As you step beyond the walls of ISD, know that your journey has just begun. The world ahead is lled with challenges and opportunities—meet both with courage and purpose. “Success is not nal, failure is not fatal: It is the courage to continue that counts.” – Winston Churchill Your time here has prepared you to lead with integrity, think globally, and act compassionately. There will be setbacks—but remember:

“Perseverance is not a long race; it is many short races one after the other.” – Walter Elliot

Stay curious, dream big, and never stop growing. Wherever life takes you, believe in your strength. You are ready. We are proud of you—today and always! Warmest wishes,

It’s hard to believe, but here you are—standing on the edge of a new chapter, ready to step into the world beyond ISD. For many of you, the next stop is university—scattered across the globe, studying a range of subjects as diverse as your personalities and passions.

I want to leave you with a simple message: it’s only three years between you and your bright future.

Three years. That’s all. Three years of focus, e ort, and commitment—and in return, you’ll be opening the doors to a world of opportunity.

As soon as you complete your degree, the path ahead becomes clearer. New horizons, exciting careers, independence, and a chance to make your mark on the world—these things become possible.

Yes, the journey may feel long at times. There will be moments of stress, deadlines, and doubt. But never forget: these are just stepping stones. You’ve already proven what you’re capable of—right here at ISD. Now, it’s about carrying that drive forward into the next stage.

So wherever you're headed—be it engineering, medicine, art, business, science, or any other eld—know this: the future you’ve been dreaming of is not far away. And it’s bright. In fact, it’s already waiting for you.

All you have to do… is keep going.

Congratulations, and best of luck on the amazing journey ahead.

Thank you.

In the words of Steve Jobs, "The people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do." Good luck going forward and changing the world for the better!

Dear Class of 2025,

You’ll always hold a special place in my heart—you were my very rst class at ISD. From our time together in Grades 3, 4, and 5 to witnessing your PYPX journey, it's been such a joy to watch you grow.

I cherish the little moments: your big questions, your gentle hearts, and the way you supported each other. You’ve taught me just as much as I hope I taught you.

As you move forward, keep shining, keep wondering, and most of all—stay true to yourselves.

Congratulations to the very special and colourful Class of 2025!

It has been my honour to have worked with such an incredible, respectful, unique, talented and diverse group of individuals. You’ve persevered and shown resounding resilience that has culminated in personal and academic growth and acceptances at renown global universities. From tears of happiness and disappointment to the stresses of your indecision, all of you demonstrated resilience through the complex and challenging university application process. I’m so proud of you!

Remember that university is not the end goal in life and that it is only another arena of self discovery. It can be an opportunity to take risks, challenge your worldviews, learn new skills and develop long-lasting relationships. It doesn’t matter where you study as much as how you apply your learning to where you’re going. You are more than just rankings, so don’t worry about the university reputation as much as your own self-worth and well-being. Learn from failure and others, develop resiliency, be kind to yourselves, speak up to injustices and have fun and laugh! Be the best versions of yourselves and accept that life will take you on an adventurous journey. Congratulations!!!!

I’m going to miss all of you and I wish you the best in your future endeavors.

With much respect, Mr. Brian

As you take o on your next adventures, I would like to remind you to always aspire for happiness. Advocate for what you believe. In life, we tend to be successful when we do what interests us. Therefore, prioritize your passions in your quest for higher education and eventually in your career growth.
