Sculture contemporanee già erose da un tempo non vissuto, sono le opere Archeologiche “ Reperti del XXI sec d.C.” di Simona Ragazzi. Riscoperte, restaurate e catalogate a testimonianza di un consumismo vissuto troppo in fretta e di un dialogo indivisibile tra la cultura artistica del passato e del presente. Le opere mostrano frammenti e vicende di persone che divengono narrazione specchiante e citazione quotidiana dell’oggi, attraverso i quali, l’ artista analizza alcuni archetipi della nostra civiltà globalizzata. I “reperti” suggeriscono attenzione e “amore” per la vita: in particolare quelli direttamente connessi alla dimensione quotidiana come “testa di ragazza” o “scriba” erede della millenaria tradizione mediterranea che ha radici in Egitto e Mesopotamia. Queste opere d’arte di Simona Ragazzi sono lo specchio di una grande forza vitale e creativa. Realizzate in materiali diversi , dalla terracotta al bronzo, racchiudono un linguaggio ricco di esplicite citazioni iconografiche. L’artista bolognese ha sviluppato un importante lavoro di ricerca semiotica sull’arte e sulla cultura attuale. Infatti le opere realizzate tessono un filo diretto coi codici figurativi contemporanei e gli elementi culturali arcaici riflettendo sul rapporto tra presente, passato e futuro e fornendo suggestioni, letture e narrazioni nuove. Da qui i lavori Archeologici della Ragazzi svelano un alto profilo concettuale e comunicativo, che intrecciano con sensibilità e ironia le dimensioni del tempo e dello spazio.
Contemporary sculptures already eroded by an inexperienced time, these are the works of archeology “Finds of the twenty-first century AD” by Simona Ragazzi. Rediscovered, restored and classified as evidence of a consumerism lived too fast and an inseparable part of a dialogue between the past and present artistic culture. The works show fragments and stories of people who become a reflective narration and a daily quote of nowadays, through which the artist analyzes some archetypes of our globalized civilization. The “findings” suggest attention and “love” for life: in particular those directly related to the daily dimension such as “Testa di ragazza” or “Scriba” heir to the thousand-year old Mediterranean tradition that has its roots in Egypt and Mesopotamia. These art works by Simona Ragazzi are the mirror of a great vital and creative force. Made of different materials, from clay to bronze, they enclose a language rich of explicit iconographic citations. The Bolognese artist has developed an important work of semiotic research on the current art and culture. In fact, the works trace a direct line between the contemporary figurative codes and the archaic cultural elements by meditating on the relationship between past, present and future and by providing suggestions, readings and new narratives. These new archaeological works of Ragazzi reveal a high conceptual and communicative profile which intertwines the dimensions of time and space with sensitivity and humor.

The project iSculpture, literally “Italian Sculpture”, was born to promote those skills and knowledge that, treasuring tradition and past techniques, remain the excellence of our country. Updated in the concept of “beauty”, sculpture is perhaps the most complete art, in which matter and shape come together in a continuous challenge to renewal, without ever leaving a constant acquisition of consolidated parameters relating to balance and know-how. The works of our selected artists represent a significant example of contemporary Italian sculptural production in the fields of ceramics, bronze, alabaster, wood, marble, iron and “new” materials. The selecting parameters are those of high technical ability and originality.

iSculpture was established in 2012, with the aim to promote both young and successful Italian sculptors. Our attention is mostly focused on the research of the new borders of the Italian figurative arts. Tradition and modernity merge together in the 14th century architecture and the renovation works, facilitating a timeless dialogue between the art works and the spectator. Its first location in San Gimignano is today joined by another exhibition space in Casole d’Elsa (SI), a historical town located at the border between the provinces of Siena and Pisa which has been for many years influenced by international art and culture movements. iSculpture is the first art gallery featuring only Italian sculpture.

Simona Ragazzi nasce a Bologna nel 1969, città nella quale si forma artisticamente. Consegue il Diploma in Pittura all’ ISART e successivamente il Diploma con Lode in Scultura all’Accademia di Belle Arti di Bologna. Ha esposto in numerose mostre in sedi pubbliche e private , ha partecipato a Biennali, Concor si e Fiere d ’Ar te Nazionali ed Internazionali. Le sue opere sono presenti in collezioni pubbliche e private in tutto il mondo. Simona Ragazzi vive e lavora a Bologna.
Simona Ragazzi was born in Bologna in 1969 where she developed her artistic career. She graduated in Painting Techniques at the ISART and later in Sculpture at the Academy of Fine arts in Bologna. She exhibited in various private and public locations, par ticipating in Biennials, Competitions and Art Fairs in Italy and abroad. Her art works are part of private and public collections all over the World. She lives and works in Bologna.
