How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages? There are multiple software’s that I used to help create my music video. Digital media plays a huge role and without it I would not be able to complete the tasks. There are different types of software that I used for the different stages. For the research section, the software was made up of mainly using the internet, as well as PowerPoint and different online websites to complete the posts. Some of these websites included: Emaze and prezzi. In addition, for the research section all the posts consisted of finding out about the history of music videos as well as analysing different videos through Miseen-scene, camera, editing and sound. There are 3 types of music videos, and these are Performance, conceptual and, narrative. As I used a band my music video is performance based so it was vital for me to do research into those specific videos. Kathleen by Catfish and the Bottlemen is one music videos where I got most of my inspiration. The shot choices, location, and effects are like my own music video. As well as taking

inspiration from Pumped up kicks by foster the people. Following onto my planning section, this is where I started to decide on the type of music video I wanted to create. I investigated the different locations, song choices, as well as what the band would wear when filming. I did not use any major digital technology during my planning stage other than word, PowerPoint and the websites such as Prezzi, Emaze and slide share, expect from Adobe Premiere. Premier is an easy to use software which is where you can create and edit videos. The post that I used this software for was the animatic. For this post I took printscreens of the 20 different shots that I have used within my first video draft. This is so you can see what the main shots will be in my music video.

music video I used various media technologies, such as: A digital camera, and lighting equipment. When using the camera, I had it set on manual so that I can alter the IOS, shutter speed, and aperture, as well as other features that you may on a digital camera. Using these cameras are very useful when filming. The advantages are that you can easily adjust lenses when changing locations, set the camera to whatever settings you need. For example: If you need the shot to be lighter, then you would increase the IOS. Moreover, I also used some simple to use camera lighting. I set us 3 lights with two at the front and one at the back. The two at the front lit the band members while the one at the back helped to create the illusion of a black background. You can see that in some shots, but not all.

The production section of my blog is where I used a whole variety of different software. This is when I shot, edited, and drafted my music video, along with the ancillary tasks. When I shot my

The editing section Is only made up of two posts, which are editing processes and image manipulation. For the editing process I used my phone to record as well as premier to showcase me editing. What I did

was showed an example of how I would edit my music video. As an example, I showed how I layered up the footage. Using my phone to film helped as I have a time lapse button on my camera where it speeds the footage up instantly after filming. For the image manipulation I did the same process of using my phone to record and premier to edit. Following onto the drafting, this is where I used Adobe premier and In-design. Premier allowed me to edit my video by adding effects and placing the shots where I wanted them to be. Whereas I used In-design for the making of my magazine advert and digipak. For the first few drafts of my music video I focused on getting all my shots in the place I wanted them to be. On premier to make the process quicker, there is a cutting tool which allows you to cut a section of the footage. This means you can easily cut out part of your footage rather than having to shorten the footage. This helps especially if your footage is roughly 3 minutes

long. Moreover, for my next draft I started to add in some effects. This included changing the colour. I decided to stick with a red as a base colour because it helps the music video stand out as well as making it look unique. In addition, I also decided to add in layers. This is simple but very effective. To do so you put one piece of footage on top of the other and make the transparency 50% for the footage on top. You then slide the footage on top along the timeline, so it is roughly half a second behind the other one. This allows a delay so that you can see the two shots at the same time. Having one of the shots a different colour to the original footage allows you to distinctively see the two shots as they will stand out from one another.
