The project Resicence D was a three-story house, located in Curitiba, Brazil. The existing site is approximately 5,800 square feet containing two very relevant conditions, one is a grove in the back of the site that occupied almost half of the property and second is how steep the site is. The program of the project required to house a nuclear family of four. The first floor included services area (laundry, storage and a garage). The second and main floor included common areas (kitchen, dinning room, living room) and access to the outdoor area and the existinhg grove in the backyard. The open ceiling above the living room connected the first and second floor providing both story natural light and view of the grove and connecting visually both floors.

The Urban Spa is a social wellness club designed for the betterment of people who live in urban communities. Every human being yearns to find the balance between between body, mind and soul. In order to achieve this connection, it is essential that the body blend physical activity, balanced diet and contact with nature. However, the grind of city life ends up directly affecting people`s lives. Anxiety and stress occur when humans, regardless of age or sex, discover that their rhythm is out of step with their desire for affection and quality time. The result of the intense routine can cause physical or mental health problems. Serious illnesses may appear suddenly, though most have been provided warnings for months through symptoms and malaise that they ignored.

The idea of this project is to create an Urban SPA in Curitiba, Brazil. This building aims to provide its visitors with a place for health and wellness that will guide them through life’s stressors. Such flexibility is possible due to the location and styles of services provided. The Urban SPA thrives due to practicality and accessibility. The Urban SPA includes easy access for the public and treatments that look to improve the user’s life’s quality without requiring major changes in their routine.
