Council moves forward with flying foxes Isaac Regional Council Chief Executive Officer Rod Ferguson said Council recognises the recent concerns of the community while the flying fox colony locates itself in Centenary Park. “Council’s focus is to keep flying foxes from roosting in residential backyards until they naturally migrate. “Ecological consultants have been invited to submit proposals to attempt to move the colony to a location where human interaction is limited,” he said. “It is expected that a consultant will be appointed shortly and once a dispersal plan is agreed upon then the community will be advised of the dispersal activities that will be carried out.” If you have any questions please contact Council’s Environmental Services Department on 1300 ISAACS (472 227). To assist in the best possible outcome for natural migration, residents are advised to: • Not to disturb the colony at any time, allow them to rest and and follow all direction provided by Council. • Notify Council immediately if flying foxes move to roost in your trees during the day.

Clermont Swimming Centre Works update Isaac Regional Council has issued a works order for major repairs at the Clermont Swimming Centre.

Council is working as quickly as possible to resolve the issues and will keep the community regularly updated.

The works include the replacement of the sand filters to both pools in a staged way to allow the reopening of the Clermont Swimming Centre by the end of November this year.

For further information please contact 1300 ISAACS (1300 472 227).

This provides the most effective temporary solution in the lead up to the popular summer season over the school holiday break. Some of the major works identified as part of the extensive report made by a specialist pool engineer will be undertaken in the off season. Council understands the frustration of these pool closures and appreciates the inconvenience and disruption the closure is having on all community members of Clermont.
