Strong start to Clermont cattle sale season The Clermont cattle market is off to a strong start with the first Prime and Store Sale of the year held last week.
There were 800 head of cattle sold at the Clermont Saleyards from local producers. Hoch and Wilkinson partner Jake Passfield said the prices were very good.

“Quoted prices of the day were feeder steers which made up to 324c/kg and weaner steers that made up to 343 c/kg,” he said. “Cattle weights this year aren’t too bad due to the winter rain, but the season’s beginning to shorten up. “Most people have had a little start with some summer rain, but are looking for a bit more for their growing season.”
