Discounted rates: Isaac Regional Council rates discount period ends Friday April 29.
Save on rates before it’s too late Don’t miss out on the discounted rates period and register an email address with Isaac Regional Council. Chief Executive Officer Rod Ferguson says rate payers should have received their rates notice in the mail, but it is not too late if they haven’t. “We understand there can be delays in the postal service in rural areas, that is why we are encouraging rate payers to register their email with Council,” he said. “Once we have their email address we are able to send an electronic copy of their rates notice.” “Council encourages prompt payment of rates on or before April 29, to take advantage of the 10 per cent discount for general rates.” “Some financial institutions can take up to three working days to process an electronic payment, so please check with your bank or credit union to ensure your payment is received by Council in time to secure your discount,” he said. “General rates contribute to the cost of vital community services in the region, including public facilities, environmental health, local roads, footpaths, bikeways, and much more.” Ratepayers are advised that Council rates and charges that remain unpaid after Friday April 29, 2016 will incur 11% interest per annum, compounded daily.
