First elected to the Texas Senate in 2012, Kelly Hancock represents Senate District 9, which includes portions of Tarrant and Dallas Counties. He previously served three terms in the Texas House of Representatives and remains an advocate for core conservative values of limited government, lower taxes, and strong family values.

Throughout his legislative career, Senator Hancock has worked to keep government out of the way of Texas’ job-creators and has also passed voter identification legislation, pro-life legislation, immigration reform legislation, and state sovereignty legislation.

A graduate of Baylor University, Senator Hancock possesses an extensive business background and runs his family-founded distribution company. The Senator and his wife, Robin, have been married nearly 35 years and have three children: Chloe (Greg), Skylar (Aaron) and Harrison. They proudly welcomed their first grandchild in 2018 and two more in 2021!

Senator Nathan Johnson (D) District 16 Elected with strong bipartisan support in 2018, Senator Nathan Johnson represents the economically and demographically diverse Senate District 16, which comprises the northern part of Dallas County.

Johnson graduated magna cum laude with a degree in physics from the University of Arizona, and earned his law degree from the University of Texas at Austin. He practices law in the Trial Practice Group at the law firm of Thompson & Knight.

Johnson passed 22 bills into law during his first legislative session, all with bipartisan support. He earned a reputation for being a quick study who convenes and considers the views of diverse constituencies, and pursues creative public policy solutions. His emphasis on improving the health of Texans prompted him to author and support a number of healthcare initiatives, ranging from medical coding to Medicaid expansion, with much in between.

Senator Royce West (D)

Representative Terry Meza (D) District 105

Royce West was first elected to the Texas Senate in November 1992. Since taking office, he has represented the 23rd Senatorial District on behalf of the citizens of Dallas County in the Texas Legislature. During his tenure, Senator West has been named

by Texas Monthly as one of the 25 most powerful people in Texas politics, been selected for the magazine’s biennial “Ten Best Legislators in Texas” list, and has twice been named as an “Honorable Mention.” Senator West has also received mention on the Associated Press’ “Movers and Shakers” list, as well as the Texas Insider’s “Best Legislators” list.

Rep. Terry Meza grew up in Irving, Texas - the heart of District 105. She is a proud graduate of Irving High School and she commuted from Irving for all her higher education pursuits to attend UT Arlington, The University of Dallas, and Texas Wesleyan University School of Law.

District 23

Senator West is Vice Chair of the Senate Higher Education Committee and is a member of Senate committees on Education, Finance, and Transportation. He was appointed to the Senate Select Committee on Redistricting after the 86th Legislative Session (2019). Following the 85th Legislative Session (2017) Senator West was appointed to the Texas Commission on Public School Finance and the Senate Select Committee on Violence in Schools and School Security. During the 83rd Legislative Session (2013), the senator served on the Senate Select Committee on Redistricting and the Joint Committee on Oversight of Higher Education Governance, Excellence & Transparency.

In addition to his senatorial duties, Senator West is the managing partner in the law firm of West & Associates, L.L.P.

State Representative Rafael Anchia (D) District 103

Rafael Anchía is currently serving his ninth term in the Texas Legislature and represents a western corridor of Dallas County, which includes the cities of Dallas, Farmers Branch and Irving. Rep. Anchía currently serves as the Chairman of the House Committee on Pensions, Investments, and Financial Services. He also serves as a member of the Energy Resources Committee and the Redistricting Committee. Most recently, Rep. Anchía was appointed to serve on the Texas Privacy Protection Advisory Council.

Prior to serving in the Texas House, Rep. Anchía was twice elected to serve as a Trustee for the Dallas Independent School District. In 2017, Rep. Anchía was elected by his peers as Chairman of the Mexican American Legislative Caucus (MALC), the oldest and largest Latino caucus in the United States. Rep. Anchía is a co-founder and Managing Director in the global investment firm, Civitas Capital Group; he also serves as Of Counsel at the largest law firm in Dallas, Haynes and Boone, where he represents financial institutions and public and private funds. Most importantly, he lives in beautiful North Oak Cliff with his partner Rebecca, is blessed with two exceptional daughters, and worships with the Catholic Campus Community at SMU.

Rep. Meza started her career as a student teacher at South Grand Prairie High School and taught at every level from elementary school to college. She also worked as a nonprofit director overseeing programs in economic development, small & minority business assistance, neighborhood revitalization, historic preservation, workforce development, and job placement.

Before serving in the legislature, Rep. Meza operated her own solo law practice for almost 20 years.

Representative Meza served on the Human Services, Public Education and Resolutions Calendars committees.
