PRESIDENT & CEO GREATER IRVINE CHAMBER, DESTINATION IRVINE It’s my pleasure to welcome you to the Greater Irvine Chamber’s third annual 40 Under 40 event, recognizing some of Orange County’s brightest young professionals who are positively impacting and moving our community forward.

The Chamber works to enhance the economic vitality of the region.

To that end, it is an honor to congratulate such a dynamic group of individuals and to recognize them individually for their impressive accomplishments that are contributing to the economic and social health of the county.

The professionals we celebrate today help drive innovation and position Orange County as a leading West Coast economic powerhouse that stands up to any other urban center in the world. These individuals serve as a reminder of the rich human capital we have in Orange County and as examples for others who strive to excel in their profession. Chief Executive Officer FAMILY ASSISTANCE MINISTRIES With more than 13 years of experience in housing and social services, Elizabeth Andrade brings to her role as CEO at Family Assistance Ministries a proven approach to aligning resources to create long-lasting solutions to help prevent and end hunger in South Orange County.

She is the youngest CEO in the organization’s 22-year history and in 2020 she led the efforts to distribute 5 million pounds of food and manage $18 million+ in grants and donations. Her strategy helped to prevent more than 600 people from becoming homeless.

Product & Application Support Manager, Sr. CHANGE HOME MORTGAGE Justin Aquino began his career in the mortgage industry 17 years ago. He has held various positions in operations before landing in IT. Director of Business & Community Partnerships MEMORIALCARE As Director of Business & Community Partnerships at MemorialCare, Chris Arias leads a team focused on building relationships with area employers and other partners, in support of keeping our communities healthy. He is passionate about serving his community, having volunteered as a coach for Special Olympics Southern California and as one of several MemorialCare employees helping to provide COVID-19 vaccinations at the Laguna Woods Senior Community to some of Orange County’s most vulnerable residents.

Director of Strategic Services CITY OF HOPE ORANGE COUNTY As the Director of Strategic Services for City of Hope Orange County, Julia Arora is the consummate business partner, collaborating with peers to produce and report on critical data for City of Hope. Julia’s expertise helped develop one of the most sophisticated cancer centers in the nation designed around a simple concept — put advanced care near where people live. Currently, 20% of OC cancer patients leave the region for specialized care. Now, thanks to Julia and her peers’ health strategy work, long commutes will end with the opening of City of Hope’s world-class cancer center in Irvine.

Owner and Director of Delivery & Operations SQUARE-1 ENGINEERING Trisha Aure routinely gives back to the Orange County community through philanthropy, supporting second Harvest, WHW, and DeviceAlliance, where she has served as Membership Chair for four years. She’s been instrumental in helping people become business owners and entrepreneurs through a program she created, Consulting n’ Coffee.

As an owner and Director, Delivery & Operations at Square-1 Engineering, Trisha identified ways to improve processes resulting in expanding the company’s capabilities and efficiencies, resulting in nearly 30% growth in six months.

Director of Corporate Relations & Cause Partnerships BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS OF CENTRAL ORANGE COAST After more than a decade as a professional opera singer performing worldwide from Carnegie Hall to the Arena di Verona, David Blair made a career change to serve the nonprofit sector, including events and corporate fundraising for Alzheimer’s Association and Alzheimer’s Orange County. As Director of Corporate Relations for Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Orange Coast, David engages with corporate and community partners to fund and expand its mission to ensure more than 9,000 youth annually have mentors and champions.

Chief of Staff OC THIRD DISTRICT SUPERVISOR DONALD P. WAGNER Tara Campbell is Chief of Staff for OC Third District Supervisor Donald P. Wagner and serves on the Yorba Linda City Council. She served as the city’s Mayor Pro Tem in 2018, and as Mayor in 2019, was the youngest female mayor in California history, and for a U.S. city of 30,000+. She serves on the legislative committee of the California Women’s Leadership Association and advisory boards for Families of Active Military and Bridges at Kraemer Place Shelter. She was named one of OC Register’s 2019 Top 100 Most Influential People.

Director of Research & Development OMNIPRINT INTERNATIONAL For over a decade, Said Canales has helped empower business owners globally by providing print-ondemand solutions. He has been instrumental in the creation and development of new industry products.

His leadership at OmniPrint has led to innovations in printing technology. He consistently mentors the R&D team on industry best practices. Committed to the community, Said supports charitable foundations, such as CHOC Hospital and the Gary Sinise Foundation.

Talent Acquisition Specialist CHAPMAN UNIVERSITY

After graduating from Chapman University, Martha A. Castrejon taught 5th- and 6th-grade science for two years. Upon a successful temporary summer job supporting the compensation director at Chapman, she became a full-time university staff member, collaborating in several areas of HR, including her current focus: leadership development. She designed a staff development program, including the publication of Chapman University’s Cultural Essential Series.

DANIEL S. CHOW, M.D.

Co-Director, Center for Artificial Intelligence in Diagnostic Medicine RADIOLOGICAL SCIENCES, SCHOOL OF MEDICINE, UC IRVINE As Co-Director for the Center for Artificial Intelligence in Diagnostic Medicine at UCI, Dr. Daniel Chow leads the implementation of digital health technologies into patient care settings, including California’s first bedside MRI and automated solutions for stroke detection.

He orchestrated a collaboration between medical specialties, administrators, and scientists to develop and implement a solution at UCI Health to triage high-risk COVID-19 patients, which is now being utilized in a Federal Award to evaluate monoclonal antibody therapies.

Dr. Chow serves as an Army Reservist as a diagnostic radiologist.

Reliability Engineer PARKER AEROSPACE Jenny Chung started her career at Parker Aerospace as a college graduate associate and is now Customer Support Operations Reliability Team Leader. She leads a team that assesses in-service performance of flightcritical Parker Aerospace fuel, hydraulic, and flight control products on commercial and military aircraft.

Jenny dedicates over a hundred hours each year mentoring and volunteering with various organizations, such as FIRST, Orange County Robotics Alliance, and VitalLink, to promote STEM in the community.

MEGAN COONEY

Attorney GIBSON, DUNN & CRUTCHER A Partner attorney in the Orange County office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, Megan Cooney focuses on employment and class action litigation. She has represented significant employers in high-profile employment litigation matters and trials. She was part of the team that secured a trial victory for Grubhub, Inc. in the nation’s first “gig economy” independent contractor misclassification case to go to trial. Megan routinely volunteers her time to mentor younger attorneys, has represented clients on a pro bono basis and is a Newport/Mesa ProLiteracy board member.

Chief Executive Officer DADEN SOFTWARE Chris Daden has led the development of more than $30 million in custom software used globally. As CEO of DADEN Software, he is committed to creating purposebuilt software solutions that enable clients to reach their growth and technology goals. Chris is Chair of the DADEN Investment fund, advises technology leaders, and develops award-winning technical teams. He is active in the Greater Irvine Chamber, and supports causes such as the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation, Make-a-Wish Foundation, Extraordinary Lives Foundation, Hope Reigns Foundation, and OCSC Foundation.

Director of Community Management POWERSTONE PROPERTY MANAGEMENT Kylie Decker is Director of Community Management for Powerstone Property Management, overseeing a portfolio of clients and leading a team of community managers. She leads the company’s fundraising efforts for Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation in Irvine. This past year, employees and business partners raised over $150,000 and in the 10 years of support, they are nearing $1 million in total contributions. An active member of the California Association of Community Managers, Kylie has earned its distinguished credential, named a Rising Star, and was recently presented with the Social Media Ambassador CACM Vision Award.

Agent FIRST TEAM ESTATES/CHRISTIE’S INTERNATIONAL Chris Delfs, AKA Mr. CARE (California Real Estate), is a Newport Beach-based Real Estate Agent. He is currently Vice-Chair of the Newport Beach Chamber Board of Directors, Chair of its Navigate Young Professionals group, member of its Ambassadors Committee & Commodores Club, and a Silver Anchor Award winner. Chris is the President of The Elite OC | Young Professionals Giving Back, a graduate of Newport Beach Foundation’s Distinguished Citizen Program, and alumni advisor to Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity at Cal Poly Pomona.

Vice President of Community Relations CHAPMAN UNIVERSITY Serving as Vice President of Community Relations at Chapman University, Alisa Driscoll collaborates with residents, government officials, local businesses, and nonprofit organizations on programs and initiatives that benefit the communities surrounding the University’s campuses. Alisa serves on several Boards, including the Orange Chamber of Commerce, Mariposa Women & Family Center, and Youth Centers of Orange.

She is Chair of the Advisory Group of Socioeconomic Stratification that works to address food insecurity through the Chapman Diversity Project. She is a safe space facilitator for the LGBTQIA+ campus community.

HONOREES LILANGI EDIRIWICKREMA, M.D.

Oculoplastic & Reconstructive Surgeon; Neuro-Ophthalmologist GAVIN HERBERT EYE INSTITUTE, UC IRVINE Dr. Lilangi Ediriwickrema is a board-certified ophthalmic plastic, reconstructive surgeon, and neuroophthalmologist at the UCI Gavin Herbert Eye Institute.

Her innovative research has impacted the field of ophthalmology by examining the use of ophthalmic testing to establish biomarkers for early diagnosis of Alzheimer’s and other neurodegenerative diseases. She devotes considerable time to undergraduate students who shadow her while teaching medical residents about ophthalmology and surgery. She has mentored innumerable students as they conduct research projects.

RAY FERRARI

Vice President of Sales ORANGE COUNTY SOCCER CLUB Ray Ferrari has been instrumental in the growth of Orange County Soccer Club — Irvine’s only professional sports team. He joined the staff when the club first moved to Irvine and now serves as Vice President of Sales, overseeing corporate partnerships and ticket sales. Active in the Irvine business community, he has served as Chair of a Greater Irvine Chamber Leads Group, is involved with The Elite OC, is a Leadership Tomorrow OC graduate, and volunteers for OC nonprofits throughout OC.

Associate Executive Director CYSTIC FIBROSIS FOUNDATION, ORANGE COUNTY Shaina Flesser is Associate Executive Director for Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Orange County chapter.

She cultivates new and existing donors and produces fundraising events, having helped fundraise over $2 million to further the mission of the CF Foundation.

She helps foster the next generation of supporters through the launch and growth of the chapter’s young professionals network, Tomorrow’s Leaders, and serves as a Nonprofit Management Advisory Committee member for UC Irvine’s Division of Continuing Education.

Daniel Gensicke is a Cost Accountant for Tri Pointe Homes, providing cost analysis for home building communities. Before his civilian career, Daniel served as an Intelligence Analyst in the United States Air Force, providing analysis to decision-makers regarding threats to U.S. interests. In addition to assignments across the U.S., he was stationed in South Korea, the U.K., and Qatar, achieved Level 1 Defense Intelligence Agency certification, and earned two Joint Commendation Medals. He has volunteered for the Corazon project and his church, including helping international students to acclimate to life in the U.S.

President & Founder APEX GOLF CARTS Caius Griu is President & Founder of Apex Golf Carts, specializing in sales, rentals, repairs, and custom-built golf carts. One of the ways he is revolutionizing the industry is by installing lithium batteries in his carts.

Over the past nine years, he has achieved over $25 million in revenue. Caius supports various charitable organizations, including Make-A-Wish Orange County & Inland Empire, Families Forward, Colette’s Children’s Home, the American Cancer Association, and Caterina’s Club.

KEVIN HOERBURGER

Depot Partnership Team Leader PARKER AEROSPACE Kevin Hoerburger leads Parker’s maintenance, repair, and overhaul business at six U.S. Aviation Depot Maintenance locations. He has grown the operations from four to six locations, increasing aviation readiness for the U.S. military and garnering more than $100 million of sales. He serves as a Logistics Officer in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve with experience in Afghanistan and South Korea. His passion for running connected him to Ainsley’s Angels of America, promoting inclusion for special needs individuals in sporting events.

Vice President of Business Development PETROL Wendy Hsu is Vice President of Business Development at PETROL Advertising, a leading global game marketing agency. She has spearheaded efforts for clients, such as the Destiny and Call of Duty franchises and campaigns for Blizzard and Razer. She led the team behind JBL’s successful debut into the gaming space, solidifying their partnership with 100 Thieves and the launch of JBL Quantum Cup, a global competitive Esports event. Wendy is also an entrepreneur who owns multiple Sanrio store locations, including the newly opened Sanrio Irvine.

Executive Vice President JONES LANG LASALLE

Jason Lantgen is an Executive Vice President with Jones Lang LaSalle and a member of the Occupier Advisory Group, specializing in tenant representation throughout the country. Jason has been honored annually for his work with clients. He is regularly featured in publications for his insights on the Orange County commercial real estate industry. As an Octane Board member, he has supported earlyand mid-stage growth companies in its accelerator program. Jason has been instrumental in bringing to life Next Wave, an initiative designed to help industry leaders transition to community leaders.

Owner TUTU SCHOOL LAGUNA NIGUEL Brooke Luminelli attended UC Irvine as a dance major.

Throughout college, she performed at Disneyland in parades and shows. These combined experiences led Brooke to want to share her passion for dance and ballet with the children in Orange County. Brooke is the owner of Tutu School, a ballet school for kids 18 months to eight years old, providing a magical introduction to ballet and the arts, with locations in Huntington Beach, Corona del Mar, Laguna Niguel, and opening soon in Ladera Ranch.

Alexis Martinez served as a Sales Coordinator for the opening team at Hyatt House Irvine. Her passion and work ethic quickly advanced her career to a Sales Manager position and resulted in her being selected for task forces to lead sales efforts in Hyatt’s portfolio.

Hyatt Hotels and Resorts honored Alexis with a Sales Leadership Award for fostering relationships with prominent companies in Orange County and beyond. In 2020, she was chosen as a representative by Destination Irvine for the Western States Expo. In 2019, she was nominated for the Spirit of Hospitality award.

Senior Field Representative ORANGE COUNTY ASSEMBLYMAN STEVEN S. CHOI Jose S. Martinez is a Senior Field Representative to Orange County Assemblymember Steven S. Choi, Ph.D., strengthening relationships throughout the community.

He was first acquainted with the State Legislature and the Orange County community while assisting the District office of Assemblyman Jim Silva with regional outreach.

He has also served the offices of Assemblymembers Allan R. Mansoor and Donald P. Wagner, and has held positions in higher education in program management, community engagement, and student counseling.

JADE MAZZIO

Business Services Manager IRVINE POLICE DEPARTMENT Jade Mazzio serves on the Irvine Police Department’s management team. She has held seven positions with increasing responsibility and now holds the highest-ranking civilian position in the department.

Jade manages several critical units, including Public Safety Dispatch, Records, and Technology and Innovation. She has helped the organization implement complex projects, including online crime reporting, mobile kiosks, and text to 911.

She is currently overseeing a Body-Worn Camera deployment, Racial Profiling Act platform, and a department-wide software replacement project.

President ATI RESTORATION

Working in the mailroom of his father’s small restoration business from the age of 12, Ryan Moore is now Co-President of ATI, along with his brother, Jeff Moore. Ryan oversees human resources, recruitment and training. He created ATI University to provide continuing education, certifications, and career planning for employees and business partners. He serves on the Children’s Hospital of Orange County board and is a member of Ronald McDonald House Charities.

KATHRYN MORRISON

Clerk of the Board ORANGE COUNTY COUNCIL OF GOVERNMENTS As Senior Executive Assistant at Loko AI, Kathryn Morrison develops collaborative relationships with local government and educational institutions. Experienced in Orange County political affairs, the Army Veteran works closely with local government officials and staff to support the Orange County Council of Governments in her role as Clerk of the Board. She promotes inclusion through her involvement with the Coalition of California Chambers - Orange County and Women in Innovation. She volunteers her time serving on Working Wardrobes’ Public Affairs Committee.

Vice President of Community Development, Southern California WARMINGTON RESIDENTIAL Joe Oftelie is responsible for the development process, from pre-acquisition through construction and sales, for Warmington Residential. Joe is a leader in identifying and executing innovative land use solutions for underutilized properties and has been a pioneer in obtaining project approvals utilizing newly adopted state legislation and housing policies. Joe is a member of the Building Industry Association, Co-Chair of the BIA-OC Urban Infill Committee, a BIA NextGen program mentor helping young people in or looking to enter the industry, and a licensed CalSouth Youth Soccer Coach.

Signature Event Manager OCTANE

Cara Parchment is the Signature Event Manager for Octane. A true team player, she helped grow Octane’s Ophthalmology Tech Summit into one of the premier conferences globally and a must-attend event for the industry. Cara also created a medical advisory board of the most prominent national and international physicians in eye care. She led the strategy to replicate the OTS conference for the medical aesthetics industry, resulting in launch of the Aesthetics Tech Summit. Within four years, Cara’s leadership has led to an increased financial growth of the conferences by 143%.

HONOREES BRITTANY POPINEAU

Operations Manager VAL-CHRIS INVESTMENTS

Brittany Popineau is the Operations Manager at ValChris Investments, leading new projects, training staff, and enhancing office workflow. She serves as an Associate Pastor at Legacy Church in Tustin, which she and her husband started in 2020. Brittany volunteers to mentor college students and other outreach projects.

During the pandemic, she helped launch and produce online Church services. She has helped with food and goods distributions to people in Irvine, Tustin, and Santa Ana.

JOYCE REYES SILVA

Chief Operating Officer SAFE HARBOR COUNSELING INSTITUTE Joyce Reyes Silva serves as Chief Operating Officer for Safe Harbor Counseling Institute. She serves on its Board of Directors, and that of the Hispanic Business Association California Chapter. She is an innovative community leader who works as a business growth expert for established brands, startups, and small businesses. Joyce provided digital marketing and event management expertise during the early stages of The Hungry Lab, an organization focused on empowering impactful ventures and initiatives. She fundraises for charities such as the Together We Rise musical festival.

Nursing Supervisor CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL ORANGE COUNTY Elyse Shelger is a Nursing Supervisor for Children’s Hospital of Orange County. She was on a global team that created an app prototype designed to improve access to medical interpretation for those with hearing or speaking differences. She is a member of the American Red Cross Orange County Board of Directors and serves as Vice-Chair for its Mission Impact committee. She serves on the Association of California Nurse Leaders’ Communication/ Voice committee and Board of Advisors for an infant formula company, and volunteers for Disaster Health Services.

JESSICA SIGUENZA

Business Development Executive FINANCE OF AMERICA MORTGAGE Jessica Siguenza is a Strategic Initiatives & Business Development Executive for Finance of America Mortgage.

She helped launch its first nationwide nonprofit, Finance of America Cares, and serves as Vice President for the Board of Directors. Jessica serves on the Orange County Realtors Board of Directors. She has served as Chair for the Orange County Young Professionals Network, an Advisory Board Member for the California Association of REALTORS© Young Professional Network, the California Association of REALTORS© WomanUp! Initiative, and was named Volunteer of the Year in 2018 by the Orange County Realtors.

Regional Marketing Specialist, Orange Coast COX BUSINESS Jessica Torrico utilizes her background in technology, hospitality, and entertainment to oversee campaign management, digital automation, and event ticketing & entertainment as the Orange County Regional Marketing Specialist for Cox Business. She serves on the board for Cox Charities and is a member of Women in Cable Telecommunications. She participates in three Cox employee resource groups focused on Latinx, young professionals, and women. In the community, Jessica leads a children’s group at Saddleback Church.

Marketing Manager UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA, IRVINE Hai Truong is the Marketing Manager for one of the fastest-growing, innovation-focused divisions at UCI: the Office of the Vice Provost for Teaching and Learning.

When the pandemic forced UCI to go remote, Hai led the transition materials for UCI Summer Session to online or digital format and launched the “We Are UCI” podcast featuring UCI’s diverse student body and how students are redefining success. Hai volunteers his time to the First-Generation Alumni Mentorship Program, 4.0, which trains educational leaders, and For the Unseen, which serves vulnerable populations worldwide.

HONOREES FUTURE LEADER: MATTHEW CHANG

President & Founder IRVINE CLIMATE ACTION NETWORK

Woodbridge High School Freshman Class President and orchestra member, Matthew Chang is president and founder of Irvine Climate Action Network, a youth movement dedicated to making sustainable change in the community. He serves on the City of Irvine Green Ribbon Environmental Committee as a student member-at-large. He is deeply involved with Irvine City Council and local school districts to empower other youth leaders. Matthew is the host of a national environmental podcast. His work has been featured on local TV stations.

Mechanical Engineering Student, UCLA IRVINE HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATE

While attending Irvine High School, Swetha Palakur participated in Irvine Public Schools Foundation’s CubeSat program and other engineering and robotics programs where she learned how the design process could solve the world’s biggest problems. Now, a firstyear student at UCLA pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering, Swetha is working on projects including programming an autonomous rover with retrieval and obstacle avoidance capabilities and prototyping a therapeutic glove that will assist those recovering from stroke or with Parkinson’s Disease.
