‘TO ALL WHO COME TO THIS HAPPY PLACE, WELCOME.’

After eight years, on behalf of the team at Arizona Bride and Iron Diamond Media, let me say: it is so good to see you again. We’ve been dreaming of getting back on newsstands and in homes in the Grand Canyon state, and now it’s official—WE’RE BACK, and better than ever!

It has been a joy creating our Spring/Summer issue, picking up like no time had passed, yet so much has changed. The natural beauty of Arizona has remained a constant, but in recent years, Arizona has exploded as a hot (and I’m not talking about temperature!) spot for destination and local weddings alike. With its unparalleled beauty and diversity in topography—from snow-capped peaks to terra cotta deserts—plus a booming culture and culinary scene, the secret’s out on Arizona. And we can’t wait to highlight this amazing wedding community.

We gathered as a team to shoot a gorgeous fashion editorial, “Meet Me in the Desert” (pg. 30) at the charming Tanque Verde Ranch in Tucson, where we stood in awe of serene sunrises, fiery sunsets, cacti as far as the eye could see and warm hospitality that can’t be captured in text. We are so grateful to Arizonans for welcoming us back with such generosity and excitement.

If you’re flipping through this issue, you’re likely basking in that newly engaged glow. Congratulations! Soak in this special time.

As you turn through these love-filled pages, I hope you’ll brim with inspiration when imagining your big day. You’ll explore real Arizona weddings (pg. 52), exquisite invites (pg. 20), a romantic elopement (pg. 40), and even a black bouncy house that’s making its way into receptions statewide (pg. 12).

Until the next issue, you can find me chasing the next Arizona sunset.

And I hope you are, too.

Cheers to you and cheers to love!

A FRESH START

ARIZONA WEDDING COMMUNITY, we are so happy to be here! Since our launch in September, we’ve met some amazing people and have seen firsthand why Arizona is such a special place—from our first pop-up social hosted by the lovely Chelsea Gaytan of Black Tie Optional Wedding Planning in Phoenix to our stunning fashion shoot at Tanque Verde Ranch in Tucson.

Newly engaged couples, what an exciting time to be planning a wedding! As you are organizing that dream wedding with all the must-haves on your list, know that creativity and passion are at an all-time high. Arizona is full of incredible talent, outstanding professionals and creative souls—and this first issue is a testament to that.

I am so thankful for the relationships I’ve made and know there are many more to come. Our goal at Arizona Bride is to bring inspirational content and the latest trends to our readers as well as help build connections throughout the wedding community. As a former wedding industry professional myself, I know firsthand how important those relationships are, and I’m eager to share all the knowledge this community has with each other and with you, our nearly weds!

Finally, while you’re getting busy with details and planning, just remember the most important element of every wedding: that the love you share with your family, friends and especially with your partner is the biggest reward of them all.

UNVEILED | Décor Inspiration

MOODY MAGIC

When approaching this unique styled shoot at Saguaro Lake Guest Ranch in Mesa, Chelsea Gaytan of Black Tie Optional Wedding Planning and a team of talented vendors sought to create an intimate micro wedding scheme with mercurial, nontraditional décor.

“Our inspiration was to have emerald green at the forefront of the design, and we wanted it to be moody, romantic, bohemian and a bit edgy,” she said. The first task they checked off for the shoot? Find a statement hunter green suit for the groom.

The other pièce de résistance? A custom black bounce house. With bounce houses popping up as a new spin on lawn games for wedding receptions, Gaytan wanted to push the envelope and feature the new item from local vendor Jump Into Bliss in a nontraditional hue.

With a dark color palette drawn from the suit and bounce house, the other design elements came to life—from the linens to the florals, tablescape, signage and balloon art. Garden roses, deep green moss, painted black palm leaves and feathers brought unexpected textures to a wild bridal bouquet, asymmetrical floral spray on the ceremony arch and table arrangements. Rounding out the theme to a T, the bride walked into the sunset with her real-life groom donning a custom leather jacket.

FLOWERS, BUT FASHION

Move over bouquets and boutonnieres—there’s a new trend in town. From floral necklaces to crowns, pocket squares, necklaces and jewelry, wearable florals are in full bloom. And Brenna Robinson, owner of Beckoning Blooms, loves it. “People overlook flowers as a form of art,” she says. “We’re seeing that evolve as couples have begun incorporating artfully designed wearable flowers on their wedding days. It’s a unique and creative approach that transcends traditional flowers. They hold up longer and are a fantastic wow piece.” —Chelsea

WED Your Way

While we’re seeing big, grandiose affairs come back on the scene, let’s still hold a little space for an intimate elopement. Sometimes escaping the traditional wedding route might be more your style. And that’s wonderful! Elopements can be peaceful, intentional and uniquely you. Such was the case with Lindsey Post and J Thompson, lovers of all things camping and outdoors, who exchanged vows at the top of Merry Go Round Rock in Sedona. Let’s Knot and Say We Did , planners who specialize in custom all-inclusive elopements, guided the couple throughout their entire wedding experience, making it a nourishing, uplifting day that highlighted the fullest expression of the couple’s personalities. Once they reached their destination among the red rocks (with help from J’s Jeep Rubicon, adorned with “Just Eloped” on the back window), Lindsey slipped off her hiking boots in exchange for heels, and they were greeted by sweeping Arizona views. As an acoustic guitarist and vocalist performed “Get You to the Moon” by Kina, their romantic, unhurried, yet perfectly curated wedding began. Their day exemplified how a private wedding celebration can be equally as luxurious as a bigger event, from the custom florals (including succulents and crimson blooms) to the goldenhour photo shoot capturing the newlywed romance just before sunset. After the couple made their way down the mountain, their celebration continued at Shorebird restaurant at a private table for two.

Matt and Melissa Magill have spent the last several years traveling around the U.S. supporting Matt’s career as a professional major league baseball pitcher. After playing for four different teams and taking their two young boys along for the ride, Matt retired. Now the couple has embarked on a new adventure: business partners and owners of the vintage mobile bartending service Tap N’ Go Truck Co (@tapngotruck). Matt used his creativity and woodworking skills to rebuild their 1949 pickup truck into a tap truck, which includes four taps to serve up kegged beverages—from your favorite brew to a refreshing cider—in the greater Phoenix area. Plus, it doubles as a one-of-a-kind photo backdrop. Matt and Melissa have always had a deep passion for gatherings and events that bring people together to create laughter, smiles and memories. Launching Tap N’ Go married that passion with their lifelong dream of becoming entrepreneurs— truly a home run.

GLOW YOUR OWN WAY

REFRESH AND REJUVENATE YOUR SKIN WITH OUR FAVORITE PRODUCTS

KARUNA SKIN’S GOODNIGHT GLOW-TO’S ($65) gives new meaning to the term “beauty sleep.” This bundle, featuring four of Karuna’s bestsellers, gives skin a rejuvenating wake-up call by using powerful ingredients including turmeric, niacinamide, aloe vera and peptides. This nighttime essential includes the nourishing overnight Sleeping Mask, the Multi-Tasking Face Oil to help calm and balance, Lights Out Cream to smooth fine lines and wrinkles, and the skin plumping Age-Defying Face Mask.

After selling cult favorite Kiehl’s Since 1851 to L’Oreal, beauty visionary Jami Morse Heidegger and her husband, Klaus, have returned with the holistic skincare line Retrouvé. This powerful, gender-neutral pro-aging line is packed with carefully researched ingredients, such as avocado harvested from the family’s self-sustaining farm in Malibu, that work to enhance the skin’s natural process of nourishing, strengthening and repairing. Opt for the exfoliating SKIN BRILLIANCE PRIMING PADS ($65) followed by the INTENSIVE REPLENISHING FACIAL MOISTURIZER ($380/30ml) to boost hydration and reveal radiant, glowing skin. Then give love to the rest of your skin with the luxurious BAUME ULTIME BODY OIL ($240)

California–based makeup artist Rhyan Townsend, owner of HOUSE OF THE ROZETREE , worked with a cosmetic chemist to formulate AMERICAN GLOW ILLUMINATING PRIMER FOR ALL ($42) specifically for brides requesting that “glowing-skin look.” To achieve this effect, Townsend developed this nutrientrich, water-based primer, which is easily absorbed into the skin to create a perfect canvas for makeup application. Containing hyaluronic acid, American Glow controls oils, hydrates and gives skin that coveted dewy, pearlescent finish.

Go all in and pair House of the Rozetree’s primer with its best-selling BRIGHT EYES UNDER-EYE HIGHLIGHTER ($36). This magic wand is a concealer and highlighter, and has a lightweight, silky texture that glides over the skin. The peach tone works with all skin types to counteract darkness under the eyes. In addition, it’s a great brightener to use on the brow bone and eyelids. And, if happy tears arise on your wedding day, the water-resistant formula will stay put.

Achieve soft, illuminated skin with ABI AMÉ’S SUMMER SKIN ($38–$52). This lightweight, vitamin-packed serum-lotion hybrid is the perfect antidote to body products that leave skin sticky and sweaty. Summer Skin glides on and is quickly absorbed, leaving skin silky smooth and luminous.

Founder Eunice Koo’s Korean heritage inspired her vegan cleansing balm, MELT AWAY BUTTER, BY YOONIQUE SKIN ($58). Its curated ingredients give a nod to her grandmother’s skin care routine, which included homemade treatments created from flowers and plants in her garden as well as natural oils, all working together to heal breakouts, hydrate and replenish. Infused with these ancient remedies, this one-step cleanser removes makeup, sunscreen, and daily dirt and grime, all while restoring moisture and leaving skin ready for the next step.

SOLVASA’S 360° RADIANCE ($140) works from the inside out by integrating the skin, body and mind. The collection features the Crystal Energy Wand, a multifunctional facial tool that releases tension, decreases the signs of inflammatory stress and increases micro-circulation; Destressance Serum to help firm and brighten skin; and Golden Moment Turmeric Elixir, Solvasa’s version of the traditional ayurvedic golden milk. The dairy-free blend is infused with aromatic spices and adaptogens turmeric and ashwagandha to support your body’s resilience to stress and inflammation.

ADVENTURES IN HONEYMOONING

WE’VE GATHERED SEVEN DESTINATIONS THAT ARE CLOSE TO NATURE AND FILLED WITH ROMANCE, FROM BEACH DESTINATIONS TO DESERT GETAWAYS

COSTA RICA

Origins by Mantis (originslodge.com) is a dr eam destination for couples who desire serenity, nature and adventure without sacrificing five-star luxury. The boutique lodge is nestled in Costa Rica’s northern rain forest on 111 acres of jungle overlooking the lush Upala Valley. The verdant grounds feature the intimate Laka-Tii Spa; an open-air yoga pavilion; six private luxury lodges featuring fire-heated plunge pools, handcrafted canopy beds and open-air bathrooms; as well as a stunning three-bedroom tree house, Villa Vertigo.

Foodies will delight in the fare at El Salto, located in the residential-style main lodge, which is also home to a peaceful infinity pool and 180-degree views of the valley and Lake Nicaragua. Michelin-starred chef Jean-Luc L’Hourre curates the menu daily, bringing his haute French take on laid-back Latin cuisine while using ingredients sourced from the estate’s extensive organic garden. Adventure seekers and nature lovers can partake in a wide range of experiences, such as a rain forest hike to the Oro Waterfall (keep your eyes open for sloths), horseback riding, farm tours, medicinal plant tours, lagoon fishing, birdwatching, nocturnal walks— all within the vast property.

Conservation and sustainability are the anchors of Origins. Consequently, no chemical pesticides are used (pack mosquito repellent!), the resort is nearly free of plastic, and the kitchen composts its food waste—and these are just a few of its green practices. The tranquil vibe of

Mother Nature lends itself beautifully to the lodge’s wellness practices. You can make your honeymoon even more memorable by designing a custom retreat that includes luxurious spa treatments and healing experiences, such as guided yoga and meditation practice, sound baths and breathwork sessions. There are also off-site experiences to consider, such as a visit to a butterfly sanctuary or rafting in nearby Tenorio Volcano National Park. Intimate weddings are an option at Origins as well, with ceremonies taking place in the main lodge or the yoga shambala, and receptions featuring a one-of-a-kind dinner created by chef L’Hourre.

CABO SAN LUCAS, MEXICO

If you’re craving that international vibe, but want to keep the flight short and sweet, there’s no better place than Cabo San Lucas. Rated the No. 1 all-inclusive resort in Mexico by Tripadvisor’s 2022 Travelers’ Choice Awards, the Grand Velas Los Cabos (@grandvelascabos) is the ideal oasis for

honeymooners, where they will find the luxury of choice and warm hospitality. The AAA Five Diamond resort reimagines the all-inclusive experience, providing guests with amazing restaurants (one with a two-Michelin-star chef at the helm), a luxurious 35,000-square-foot spa and first-class accommodations, such as the Grand Class Suite, with its own private plunge pool. For honeymooners, there is no shortage of activities to indulge in—from couples massages and love rituals to the Wine Lovers’ Experience and an option to charter the property’s very own 55-foot Bella yacht to cruise the azure waters of the Pacific Ocean.

PALOS VERDES, CALIFORNIA

Stay close to home but feel like you are a million miles away at Terranea Resort (@terranearesort) in Palos Verdes. Perched atop dramatic cliffs overlooking a protected marine preserve and kelp forest, the resort feels like an oceanfront sanctuary. With beautiful Mediterranean architecture and admirable environmental practices, this

sprawling 102-acre property offers guests more than 75 acres of the natural Southern California landscape to explore. Naturalistled trail walks, as well as activities such as seaside yoga and painting, give guests an opportunity to learn about local flora and fauna. The hotel itself is well-equipped for any weekend getaway, with four pools, a spa and salon, a nine-hole golf course, eight dining options, enticing courtyards, outdoor fireplaces and telescopes, bars, a fitness studio and a well-curated boutique. With accommodations that include stylish casitas and villas, guest rooms and suites, you can choose to embrace the lively ambiance of the resort or opt for more privacy.

BEND, OREGON

Unfolding across 3,300 forested acres, just moments from Bend, Oregon, Sunriver Resort (@sunriverresort) is the Pacific Northwest’s treasured location for honeymooners seeking post-wedding bliss. An all-season wilderness retreat (with 300 days of sunshine each year), Sunriver Resort is a place of storied traditions, drawing couples in to experience the holy trinity of relaxation, rejuvenation and adventure.

Cozy rooms offer all the comforts of home with a dash of opulence. Sage Springs Club & Spa provides access to fitness classes, massage therapy, facials and more, while the indooroutdoor pool invites you to unwind with a private cabana and a libation poolside. Adventurous couples can enjoy rafting, horseback riding, snowshoeing and golf at four award-winning golf courses, all on the sprawling property; skiing and snowboarding are just a short drive away at Mount Bachelor. Sunriver Resort is committed to sustainability, the preservation of nature and an independent, local mindset—and it’s dog-friendly, so you can bring your furry friend along!

COLUMBIA RIVER GORGE, WASHINGTON

Nestled in the picturesque Columbia River Gorge in Washington lies a hidden gem waiting to be explored. Skamania Lodge (@skamanialodge), which opened its doors in 1993, represents the quintessential honeymoon experience, offering newlyweds an escape from the city to a breathtaking landscape, where they can create memorable moments together to treasure forever. During daylight hours, couples can lean on nature to help recharge and reconnect, whether through an active outdoor excursion—hiking, windsurfing, kiteboarding, golf—instructor-led yoga, meditation, forest bathing, or with a glass of wine and a good book. After a day of adventuring, couples can enjoy a relaxing massage at the Waterleaf Spa before indulging in a gourmet, locally sourced meal at the Cascade Dining Room or River Rock Lounge.

SEDONA, ARIZONA

The canyon is calling—and Enchantment Resort (@enchantment_resort) in Sedona, Arizona, is ready to welcome you to honeymoon bliss. Surrounded by acres of pristine wilderness in the heart of Boynton Canyon, Enchantment offers couples an unmatched opportunity to connect to nature. According to the resort, “Whether you prefer to relax poolside, explore the hiking and biking trails, nurture your creative side with an art experience or spend time on our tennis and pickleball courts, adventure surrounds you.”

Enchantment has just launched its “Many Moons” package, which is designed to encourage a deeper connection to those we love—perfect for newly married couples. It includes daily breakfast, credit for the Spa Suites at Boynton Canyon and a private excursion (hiking the red rocks, hiking under the stars or mountain biking are among the plentiful options). For the ultimate honeymoon indulgence, couples can book a pool suite, complete with a private plunge pool or spa pool with stunning views.

SEABROOK, WASHINGTON

Winter, spring, summer or fall, the idyllic town of Seabrook, located on the Washington coast, delivers romance and nature in a small-town setting. A Pacific Northwest rendition of Gilmore Girls ’ Stars Hollow or the renowned Seaside, Florida, Seabrook was founded by Casey Roloff, who developed the town with a focus on new urban design and an intention to create connectivity and community.

The town offers an escape to tranquility and never-ending views of the Pacific Ocean from its perch atop a bluff. Rent one of the many cozy cottages, which are beautifully appointed and feel like you’ve moved into a home away from home. Plus, all the homes feature porches for watching the sunset and the neighbors pass by. Best of all, the community is quite walkable, whether out to dinner, the spa, shopping or, of course, the main attraction, the beach. Summer brings town events such as wine tastings, a concert series, Founders’ Day and more. And yes, weddings are also a dream come true at The Belfry at Seabrook (@belfryatseabrook), a beautiful blank slate awaiting your personal touch.

Tucked just outside of Tucson sits the sprawling Tanque Verde Ranch— a rustic-meets-refined oasis where hospitality is paramount and no detail is overlooked. The ranch, founded in 1868, is a trending locale to tie the knot for Arizonans and tourists alike (it’s already booking weddings well into 2025!). With abundant cacti, pink structures, Southwest charm and a few cameos from the ranch’s 200-plus horse residents, this high-fashion editorial shows us what Arizona wedding dreams are made of.

GOLDEN HOUR

Design and Photography: Ball Photo Co Text: Chelsea Gibson DREAMY DETAILS, ROMANTIC FLORALS AND A PERFECT PUP COME TOGETHER IN AN INTIMATE DESIGN SCHEME

On a spring day in April, a lovely, golden setting awakened at Butcher Jones Beach on Saguaro Lake. Hannah Ball of Ball Photo Co attributed the inspiration for the styled shoot to Arizona’s most abundant spring flower, the Palo Verde blossom. “In the spring, they have the most gorgeous yellow blooms all over the valley,” she noted. “As if we don’t have enough sunshine, it only adds to the sunny feeling of the desertscape all around us.”

From there, the team chose complementary colors to round out their vision—terra cotta, apricot, taupe and a few touches of peach and blush. The remaining details were dreamed up with the hope of blending seamlessly with the natural surroundings. The florals, a symphony of textures and movement, incorporated apricot hues to accent the bright yellow tree blossoms where the ceremony and sweetheart table sat. Butterfly ranunculus, blush lisianthus and mustard roses were just a few of the varietals used. When it came to the ceremony installation, the design played off a drooping tree branch, giving the illusion of fading into the tree itself. Hand-watercolored invitations, a vintage gown and a cameo from a certain furry friend added to the allure of the sun-kissed day.

When creating in such an ICONIC space (such as a lake in the middle of the desert), it’s always a good idea to really EMBRACE the surroundings. What is Mother Nature already delivering? How can we take this handout and turn it into something that’s our own? Take that INSPIRATION where it’s given, whenever possible!

MODERN MEDITERRANEAN

UNIQUE TOUCHES SHINE AT THE HEART OF A REFINED SHOOT IN SCOTTSDALE

Design and Planning: Details, Darling

Photography: Kaylee Chelsea Photography

Venue: The Scott Resort and Spa

Text: Chelsea Gibson

Cradled in the heart of Scottsdale, The Scott Resort and Spa provided a beautiful canvas and charming scenery for this Mediterranean-styled shoot to take center stage. When approaching the design, the team sought to mingle modern touches with Mediterranean architecture, perfectly executed with details such as the hovering column cake, raw stone accents and natural color palette. The ceremony installation was nestled in front of a rustic stone façade adorned with airy linens, natural florals and lush surrounding foliage. A mix of statement chairs in the front row infused interest into the seating arrangement for an unexpected look—a vibe that continued in the cozy cocktail lounge. The charming reception tablescape was framed with varying basket lanterns hanging overhead, two oversized head chairs and gauzy white linens, while the tabletop incorporated a focal arrangement, stoneware, patterned plates and other delicate touches for an elegant air. The bride and groom’s fashion added to the polished feel of the day, with the bride donning an off-the-shoulder ruffled gown and later a sleek reception number, and the groom rocking a light brown ensemble.

DANIELLE & ZACK

Married and celebrated: FORT MCDOWELL ADVENTURES, LA PUESTA DEL SOL

Date: OCTOBER 15, 2022

After 11 years together, Danielle Underwood and Zack Siebrandt said “I do” in a funky, free-spirited, southwestern celebration that was true to their style and roots. Both Arizona natives, Danielle and Zack incorporated their shared love of desert-inspired details, from cowboy boots to turquoise touches, and created a day that felt like them. Eclectic, hand-crafted treasures showcased the couple’s love for DIY projects, including the ceremony arch built by Zack, the bride’s bespoke reception jumpsuit sewn by Danielle herself, and even macramé chandeliers and sweetheart chair cushions created by Danielle’s mother. The show-stopping bohemian floral arrangements added perfectly bold punches of color, boasting shapes and palettes that were anything but subtle. The newlyweds wholeheartedly leaned into their southwestern vibe as they finished their first dance with a toast to each other—a shot of whiskey straight from a customized mini barrel.

MIKAYLA & MITCHELL

Married: ST. STEVEN’S CATHOLIC CHURCH

Celebrated: OCOTILLO OASIS

Date: OCTOBER 29, 2022

On a gorgeous sun-soaked day, high school sweethearts Mikayla Dolce and Mitchell Kaminski tied the knot at St. Steven’s Catholic Church in Sun Lakes. The couple chose to keep things traditional and saw each other for the first time as Mikayla walked down the aisle alongside her father. Every detail of the day encapsulated what the couple had always dreamed of—from the stunning invitation suite with floral accents to the overall design scheme. Buzzing with joyful family and friends, the cocktail hour was reminiscent of a dreamy garden party. Shortly after, guests were invited to join together in the reception hall and welcome the newlyweds in with a bang! Long rectangular wood tables were lined with sweeping white linens, greenery, oatmeal napkins and gold flatware, making for a classic, timeless design. Also noteworthy were the couple’s fashion choices—the groom in a traditional tuxedo and bowtie, and the bride in a structured A-line gown with a statement high slit. The bride topped off her look with an oversized bouquet of creamy roses with exposed stems and greenery.

CLAIRE & MIKE

Married: BROPHY CHAPEL, PHOENIX

Celebrated: VALLEY FIELD RIDING AND POLO CLUB, SCOTTSDALE

Date: MARCH 19, 2022

Surrounded by family and friends in a thoughtfully planned and personalized destination wedding weekend, Claire Yearn and Mike Bonelli exchanged vows at the groom’s alma mater. This event marked the end of living in cities miles apart, and the newlyweds couldn’t have been more excited to turn the page and start a new chapter together. The meaningful venue selection didn’t stop at the ceremony—the reception was hosted at a private, historic polo club where Mike’s family has been longtime members. The setting’s unique building wowed with thick adobe walls that infused texture into the dining room, and its terra cotta elements and traditional hacienda-style furniture and patterns provided the perfect foundation for the bride’s vision of an Arizona aesthetic with bright, pretty details. Dinner featured an upscale southwestern menu, complete with prickly pear margaritas as the night’s signature drink, which guests enjoyed on tables draped in bright blue velvet linens and adorned with peonies, ranunculus, poppies and sweet peas in a pink-on-pink palette. The colors of the evening—from the margaritas to the florals—were as bold as the couple themselves. Alfresco dancing underneath café lights was the perfect way to celebrate a love story that’s just beginning.

HAYLEY & ALEC

Married and celebrated: VILLA SIENA, GILBERT

Date: NOVEMBER 4, 2022

High school sweethearts Hayley Toyne and Alec Eddy took inspiration from Italy’s Tuscan countryside and exchanged vows in front of close family and friends at Villa Siena. Embracing sentimental family details, Hayley attached photographs of each of her grandparents to her cream and dusty orange bouquet. With the vision of her grandparents overlooking the scene, she walked the staircase of her family home where her grandfather had always imagined her on her wedding day. The exchange of vows and rings was equally special, as Alec slipped Hayley’s grandmother’s wedding ring on her finger as a symbol of his commitment and love. The celebration transitioned from ceremony to reception in a space reminiscent of the town square in Siena, and guests found their seats at tables furnished with overflowing floral arrangements made of fresh greenery and cream, blush and dusty orange blooms. Soft candlelight and gold-plated details were the perfect touches to complete the elegant and polished table settings. In a nod to Hayley’s family’s lifelong tradition of karaoke night, her dad chose to sing his toast to the newlyweds in lieu of reading it. In a final gesture to remind guests of the Italian-inspired celebration, family and friends were gifted bottles of extra virgin olive oil adorned with sprigs of fresh rosemary. And the romance didn’t stop there—Hayley and Alec headed out at sunrise the morning after their wedding day for an intimate photo session that captured their first morning as a married couple.

TANSEY & ANDREW

Married and celebrated: ENCHANTMENT RESORT,

Date: SEPTEMBER 10, 2022

SEDONA

As Tansey Schoonover planned her wedding day over the course of a year and a half, never in her wildest dreams did she envision rain on a September day in Sedona. As the wedding party and guests waited for an off-the-radar downpour to slow down, Tansey watched her carefully crafted outdoor ceremony and reception settings become drenched. Sad but calm, she and Andrew Cote, her groom, were not willing to relinquish their dream of an outdoor wedding among the stunning red rocks. During a short break in the rain, guests ventured outdoors with white umbrellas to witness the Austin-based couple walk down the aisle to bagpipes and exchange vows surrounded by a breathtaking crimson backdrop. To celebrate their Celtic heritage, Tansey and Andrew chose to include the ancient ritual of handfasting in their ceremony, in which an infinity knot is created from three ropes and ties the couple’s hands together, symbolizing the creation of a new family unit. As the destination wedding weekend’s main event evolved into the reception, a rainbow replaced the heavy rain, and the personal details carefully planned by the bride stole the show. From cocktail napkins featuring their dog, Birdie, to the ’70s record album covers that family and friends signed as a unique guestbook, Tansey and Andrew made sure to thoughtfully create a day that was completely them. The couple adored the beauty of the red rock scenery, so they elevated the color scheme with bridesmaids’ dresses and florals of the same desert palette. Although the ceremony was Tansey’s favorite memory of the entire wedding weekend, the lively dance party that began at the rehearsal dinner and picked back up at the reception was a very close second.
