Conditions of Sale 1. The stock will be sold in the order in which they appear in the catalogue and the highest bidder on each lot on the fall of the hammer will be declared the purchaser. If any dispute shall arise between two or more bidders then the lot in dispute will be put up again and resold, or the purchaser may be declared by the auctioneers.

2. The pedigree and description of the lots are believed to be correct, but are not intended as a warranty and therefore shall be taken with all faults and errors of description.

3. All animals are at the risk of vendor before sale and the purchaser after the sale. The auctioneer accepts no responsibility for damage or injury caused to the animal in the sales yard or in its precinct thereof.

4. The service dates, while believed to be correct, cannot however be guaranteed.

5. All lots will be sold in euros. Purchaser will be charged a fee of 5% of the sale price.

6. Purchasers shall, if and when required, give their names and address to the auctioneers and shall if required, pay to the auctioneers the purchase money for each lot at the fall of the hammer, or so soon thereafter as the auctioneers may require.

7. Purchaser paying by cheque must be prepared, if required, to produce a banker’s reference.

8. No lots shall be removed from the sale premises until a written delivery order has been given by or on behalf of the auctioneers.

9. Each lot shall, at the purchaser’s expense, be removed from the sale premises within a reasonable time after the close of the day’s sale.

10. All statements in the catalogue or made by the auctioneer at the time of sale relating to the animal are believed to be correct. No sale shall be invalidated by reason of any defect of faults in any of the animals by reason of any of the animals being incorrectly described in the catalogue, or by the Auctioneer in the ring, and no compensation shall be paid in respect of any faults or errors of description.

The hoggets are all inlamb to Mullan Gran Torino who was overall Champion Dungannon 2023. A ram with great colour, tight skin, great length and a super carcase.

We are members of Sheep Ireland, and all the hogget’s are genotyped and on the heptavac p program (booster required Jan 25).

All animals are fully parentage verified and genotyped through DNA. The hoggets are vaccinated for Toxovax, Enzovax and on the Heptavac P Plus programme.

Sires: Kilcurley Ed: Purchased for 10k at Premier 2021. Ed has bred lambs to €3.5k in his first year and again sons and daughters selling for €2.7k and €2k respectively at last year’s premier sale.

Shannagh Forever: Sired by Usk Vale Cheeky Charlie. Grandsire is Hexel Born to be Wild. Forever has sired lambs to 1400gns at society sales.

Garngour Fantastic: Private purchased from Garngour Livestock sired by Ettrick Earthquake. A maternal brother to £52k Garngour First Class. 1st place shearling ram at All Ireland 2023.

Annakisha Flybye: Sired by Midlock Dapper and purchased premier sale 2022. Sired top priced lamb for 2040gns at 2nd Premier sale last year.

Greenhill Ecstasy: €4.5k Ecstasy, son of Proctors Class Act, sold at Premier sale 2021 with share retained.

Ecstasy was 1st placed in aged ram class at All Ireland 2023. Sired lambs to 2500gns at this year’s premier sale.

Clonard/Abbeyview Texels (CIF/DXH) David & Clive Craig We are delighted to be part of the Twilight in-lamb sale yet again this year to offer in-lamb females for sale. In 2011 the Clonard flock was established with the private purchase of five pedigree in-lamb ewes from the Ballybroney flock and at society in-lamb sales down through the years to introduce new bloodlines within the flock. We take massive emphasis on size, power and style without compromising on the characteristics of the breed. Our greatest achievement to date was been crowned the North East show flock for 2019. 2nd in the All Ireland and Tullamore show with Annakisha Anthony and overall champion at Moate show 2023 and reserve champion Trim 2023, and other championships down through the years at shows. We are also are members of Sheep Ireland.

Tullyraghan Texels (JHH) Jim & Matthew Harrison Tullyraghan Texels was established in 2019 with the purchase of three in-lamb ewes at the North-East Twilight sale. Since then, we have increased our flock numbers with a wide range of bloodlines from some of the top flocks in the country. Our main focus is the commercial market, with the aim of producing top quality ram lambs with high euro star ratings which are suitable for the Sheep Improvement Scheme. We are offering a selection of good quality gimmers for this year’s Twilight Sale with excellent breeding potential. Our lead grimmer has achieved notably success in the show ring alongside her full-natural sister Tullyraghan Goldilocks (pictured below) who has been retained for breeding. Malachy McMeel We are delighted to be part of the Twilight sale again this year. 2024 began with a successful trip to the AllIreland where we came 2nd in the Hogget Ram Lamb class with Corry Hill Giovani who later sold to the Morrow Brothers for 4 figures.

We were also 2nd and 4th in the March Ram Lamb class and 2nd and 3rd in the Ewe Lamb class. We had a good day in Blessington selling our Hogget Ram for €1750.Then it was onto the second premier in Carnaross where we had the first prize Sherling and Reserve overall selling to Ethan Duffy for €1740.

We have five hogget ewes for this year’s sale – out of some of the best ewes we have – in lamb to three very impressive sires -Ballysal Handsome Harry purchased in Blessington for €2200, Ballyhivistock His Highness purchased jointly from the late Robert Calvin and the 4k Drumcor Head of State.

The Clenmad Flock (BFF) Lisa Breaden The Clenmad Texel flock was established in 2015 with a passion for Texel sheep and a lifefme spent working with sheep. The base flock was built up over fme, selecfng for quality and keeping within strict breed standards. We aim to breed high quality sheep, not pushed which will be profitable. We have not joined lamb plus in sheep Ireland due to lack of health criteria in the overall breeding program, which we feel could be detrimental to the Texel breed going forward, along with a few other issues in the overall lamb plus sheep Ireland system. We acknowledge the importance of genefc informafon collected by sheep Ireland and parfcipate in this for our texel sheep.

In 2019 we bred the much admired 2nd place ewe lamb at the North East Texel Championship. We downsized our flock in 2022 and confnue to work on a smaller scale. We are delighted to be part of the North East Texel twilight Sale and have 6 lovely shearling ewes for sale. These girls are outside and received no meal yet. We hope you like them as much as we do.

Evaluations should never be the only tool you use when selecting animals for breeding. Animals must also be examined to ensure the animal is also physically correct; an animal that is not physically correct (ie. mouth, feet, etc.) cannot compensate for this fault regardless of its evaluation and should be avoided for breeding purposes.

€uroStars – How to interpret them • Each star represents where the animal ranks on each index in 20% bounds • One star represents the bottom 20% of the breed for that trait • Five star represents the top 20% of the breed for that trait • The higher the stars, the higher the predicted profitability of that animal

Animals that only have the outline of a star represent animals that have within flock evaluations, this means the star rating of these animals cannot be compared to any other animals from a different flock.

Acc% (Accuracy%) This figure is very important as it represents the amount of data behind each evaluation. Where Acc% is low, much less emphasis should be placed on the evaluation, and vice versa.

Accuracy is displayed for the Replacement & Terminal Indices. It is not displayed for the four sub-traits. If an animal has high accuracy on Replacement & Terminal, it will be high accuracy across all traits.

The € value beside the index represents the difference in profit that each lamb sired from this ram will have. This € value is an across breed value, so different breeds can be compared to each other.

2) Terminal (€2.86) – If a farmer desires a ram to breed only lambs for slaughter then they should select a ram based on this index. The bulk of this index is a combination of Lamb Survivability and Days to Slaughter. The € value beside the index represents the difference in profit that each lamb sired from this ram will have. This € value is an across breed value, so different breeds can be compared to each other.

3) Lamb Survivability – This ranks animals based on lambing ease and lamb survival rate. Every positive % point on this index is an extra lamb surviving to 40 days and vice versa.

4) Days to Slaughter – This ranks animals on their genetic ability to grow. The index associated with this trait represents the difference in the predicted number of days required for the progeny of this ram to reach the desired slaughtered weight compared with other animals of the same breed.

5) No. of Lambs Born – This ranks animals based on the predicted prolificacy of the females from this animal compared with other animals of the same breed.

6) Daughters Milk – This ranks animals based on the predicted milking performance of their daughters compared with other animals of the same breed.
