We are delighted to share details of our new developments at Pinetree Court Hospital, our well-respected specialist hospital for people with Learning Disabilities and Autism

From Summer 2024, we will have available two new selfcontained flats.

Purpose-built, each new flat has been specially designed and adapted to minimise risk and environmental damage whilst also providing a comfortable, homely environment

The flats are ideal for those requiring a period of treatment within a hospital setting, but who are unable to share with others due to behaviours that may challenge, sensory needs, or risks.

Pinetree Court is one of Iris Care Group’s three specialist hospitals in South Wales

Each flat features a vision panel for staff observation, with an anti-barricade door and anti-ligature door handle

Detectors, ceiling items, and wall fixtures have been covered for safety, comfort, and to minimise tampering

Each flat is furnished with robust, weighted furniture to minimise risk and environmental damage

Model of Care at Pinetree Court Hospital

We offer a dedicated 20-week assessment and treatment pathway with a focus on community discharge. For those who require further complex treatment and rehabilitation, our expert multidisciplinary team has developed additional specialist treatment pathways.

These additional care pathways have been designed around Positive Behavioural Support (PBS) approaches, and we are also able to offer our own bespoke recovery model that is grounded in the principles of active support, Building Better Lives (BBL).

Each new development features 24/7 care and clinical support which is provided by Pinetree Court’s specialist multidisciplinary team and includes:

Nurse call buttons are available throughout the flat in easy to reach locations.

Window openings are restricted to 100mm, and fixtures are made of robust and safe materials including Corian and polycarbonate

Each flat is fitted with anti-ligature taps, roller blinds and window handles.
