The future of the office must be a desire rather than a requirement. We know that design attracts people to a workplace, so we need areas that encourage engagement, interaction, and enjoyment. As we envision the future, we must consider how to elicit a sense of joy, and joy at work is a crucial aspect of the human experience.
The workplace is a tool for getting things done, but it must be meaningful and coordinated in order to improve how we work. It must bring value and benefit to both companies and individuals that use it. While improved technology and tools are continually emerging, the workplace cannot stay stationary or repeat outmoded design.
Experienced workers are influenced by architecture in the workplace. THEY decide when they interact with others, whether individually or collectively. Now a days when employees want to interact, they choose the channel: face-to-face, video conference, phone, social media, email, messaging, and the list continues.
From AI recruiting tools to industrial automation and robotic assistants, new digital technologies are TRANSFORMING the modern workplace. Many of these systems promise to improve efficiency, productivity, and well-being.

ENHANCE PRODUCTIVITY. Companies must find the right balance of supporting individual and team productivity. A lack of privacy in an employee's workspace can reduce a worker's sense of autonomy, giving them less control over their working environment and lowering productivity.
Gensler has long designed for the human experience. The firm does business in hundreds of cities all over the world and across 29 different practice areas.
Gensler’s Los Angeles office is the first vertical urban creative campus in the downtown area. The firm adapted a former bank into an open, flexible work environment.

The large glass atrium in the ceiling brings in a lot of natural light and speaks to the notion of biophilia. The building has some views of nature and plants throughout, but it lacks natural features to give a better sense of holistic well-being.
The mezzanine increases total square feet to 45,000 and changes scale. "The building became less majestic, more welcoming to potential clients," Jernigan observes. He then transformed the organization from horizontal to vertical and high-visibility.
With a street-level entry located at 500 South Figueroa St., the campus is comprised of a three-level atrium building connected via a custom-designed bridge to an adjacent tower. The LEED Platinum workplace serves as a creative lab for architects, designers, planners and the community. The campus features flexible workspaces, a model shop, wellness rooms, an outdoor meeting patio, a family room with a bar for coffee and snacks, and a special events space.
Around the atrium, meeting rooms stack and cantilever. Yes, Gensler red brightens the officescape, which is enclosed in laminated glass. Others are wrapped in zinc panels or—in the case of the Tree House, which floats over the main lounge— translucent white polycarbonate. The various materials come through loud and clear, causing the entire space to vibrate with kinetic energy.
People want experiences they can do with other people. They want an experience that challenge and bring together their senses. And they also want experiences in which they feel like they are impacting the story in some ways.
Gensler has strived to create office spaces that are unique and their designs impact people's lives, employees and customers. Throughout this case study, we were able to dissect how open collaboration, technology, and privacy have affected Gensler's Atlanta and Los Angeles office. We learned how through different designs and themes, a company can create spaces to boost creativity and keep evolving as time goes on. In Atlanta, we see how the expansion greatly affected the office for the better in regards of open collaboration and technology wise, especially after COVID-19 . In LA, the multitude of open spaces displays how open-collaboration is their priority.

Conclusion
From the beginning, Starbucks set out to be a different kind of company. One that not only celebrated coffee and the rich tradition, but also brought a feeling of connection.
The basic values of this company center upon sustainability. Use environmentally friendly approaches.
"Over a cup of coffee, we bring people together", one of their slogans. Provide multiple social areas to promote social interaction.
This firm emphasizes health and nutrition. Make sure individuals have places where they can feel empowered and joyful.
Materials in the design should resonate with the history, branding, and culture of the company. Allow staff to also have flexibility. They require some environmental control.
Companies must find the right balance of supporting individual and team productivity. Good acoustics provides just that.
Along Blue Lagoon Drive there are three major views. From west to east, you have the Dolphin Expressway intersecting through the Palmetto Expressway. Within Blue Lagoon, there are major corporation buildings, like Burger King, and hotels, like the Hilton, for incoming guests to Miami. And lastly, to your north you have Miami International Airport.
Due to the Miami traffic during the mornings and afternoons, the noise footprint generates a high volume around the site. There is noise coming from the north, west, and east side of the site; on the north side you have airplane footprint and from east to west you have car footprint.
Since the site is surrounded by water, it generates some wind flowing from east to west, but does not show great impact to the site.

Staircase cannot be directly centered due to the steel beams. Width cannot be more than 40’ due to the 20’x40’ layout of the structure system.

Due to the site being so close to major highways and in front of Miami's grand airport, the noise and traffic are big issues. Ways to block
Due to Miami having a summer type weather all year round, the sunlight path is a major issue to considerblockingwhiledesigning. During high peak hours, way to block the sun path could be with shades or overhangs along the tilt-upwallandcurtainwall.
The areas will be split by department, but everyone will have equal access to open collaboration. The second level will be more open to the public, while the third level will be more private. Because Starbucks is the client, the café will function as the main open collaborative place while also showcasing the beauty of the company's culture and heritage.
To create a user-friendly environment in which each user feels in control. We are responsible to make worplaces an inviting environment where employees feel identified. To foster a sense of pride in working for this firm and to make collaborations more enjoyable over a cup of coffee.
The most essential thing to remember is to strike the proper balance between open collaborative areas and private spaces. It is critical to remember that the aesthetics and practical value of a workplace may boost productivity. This sort of setting is seen as a large collection of stimuli that might result in arousal overload, be unpleasant and uninteresting, and have an influence on people's performance and health.
