REGISTRATION INFORMATION Account Profiles | To register, you must have a current parent and student profile on www.ipsfacademy.org. If you do not have one, you will need to create one prior to registering for classes. If you have previously created a profile for any of IPSF’s programs, please login and update your student’s current grade level, homeroom teacher, t-shirt size, and any other information that has changed since you last logged on.

Password | If you have forgotten your password, please use the “forgot password” button and request a new one. If you have any trouble resetting your password or forgot the email address you used to create the account, please call 949.812.7225 for help. Please do not make a new student or parent profile if you have used this system to register in the past.

How to Register Online | After you create or update your parent and student profiles, please register in available classes at www.ipsfacademy.org. Registration is not complete until you receive an email confirmation. We do not accept registration over the phone.

Registration Confirmation | Once registration is complete, you will receive an email confirmation with your student’s confirmed class schedule. This information can also be accessed in the student profile on www.ipsfacademy.org.

Pricing | Class prices are listed next to each class in the catalog. This price reflects the total cost for the entire class (it is not a weekly rate with the exception of some Specialty Camps and includes all materials unless otherwise noted). Prices are discounted $25 per class when you register

by April 28, 2017. Camp Galileo, The Young Americans, and Family Bus Tours are excluded from early pricing.

Registration Fee | A non-refundable registration fee is administered to all out -of-state and international students. Fees are $50 per class for elementary and high school classes and $25 per class for middle school classes. Please note that Advanced Orchestra, Advanced Band, Intermediate Orchestra, Intermediate Band, Oceans, and most Specialty Camps all have $50 fees.

Registration fees are waived for all in-state students.

T-Shirts | K-8 students in our Summer Enrichment Academy and in our specialty camps will receive an IPSF t-shirt on the first day of class. Please indicate your child’s size when registering.

Lunch (K-8 only) | We are excited to partner with Cater Tots Too, Inc. to provide K-8 students with a fresh and healthy boxed lunch each day.

How to Order | Go to www.catertots.com and select “create an account”. You will need the following school codes to register.

Meals must be purchased no later than 9:00 a.m. the day before the first day of the session. Lunches are non-refundable.

While all lunches are prepared in a peanut-free environment, Cater Tots Too, Inc and IPSF cannot guarantee food is peanut-free. We are unable to accommodate any food allergies or special orders at this time. For any food-related questions, please contact Cater Tots Too, Inc. at 714.751.8500.

Lunch is only available for students attending an all-day program at Canyon View Elementary, Cypress Village Elementary, Jeffrey Trail Middle, Oak Creek Elementary, Rancho San Joaquin Middle, Sierra Vista Middle, and Stonegate Elementary schools.

CLASS INFORMATION & EXPECTATIONS What to Expect | Summer Enrichment Academy is designed to offer a variety of classes for your student to provide an enriching educational experience during the summer. This means that no homework, tests, grades, or school credit will be given. On occasion, an instructor will require a take home project or additional outside research for a specific project they are working on in class. Instructors will communicate class-specific curriculum and can be reached via email with questions during the course of the program.

Attendance | Students are encouraged to arrive on-time and attend all classes. IPSF understands that other activities arise during summer and students may be absent. Please report any absences directly to your school. For any extended vacations or absences, please include this information in the “critical notes” section when registering. Students will not be dropped from their classes for absences.

Behavior Expectations | In order to maintain a safe, fun, and enriching environment, all students, parents, guardians, instructors, and administrators are expected to behave in a respectful manner that promotes the safety and well-being of themselves and others.

Inappropriate behavior includes, but is not limited to: foul language, hurting, teasing, threatening, tattling, name-calling, discussing mature subject matter, negative attitude, back talking to an instructor, not cooperating or participating, not listening or following directions, fighting, littering, stealing, and being in possession of weapons, alcohol, and/or drugs. In cases when behavior expectations are not followed, the person (or persons) may be removed from the program and will not be entitled to a class refund of any kind.

Health-Related Information | If your student requires medication or has any medical conditions that IPSF staff need to be aware of, please note this information in the “critical notes” section of your student’s profile. You will be contacted prior to the start of the program if any documentation or further information is needed.

What to Bring | Class prices include all materials but on occasion, students may be asked to bring special items from home for a particular performance or project. You will be notified if any of these items are needed. Students should bring water and a peanut-free snack for their snack break each day. If you have an all-day student and did not purchase lunch, you will need to provide a sack lunch as food will not be sold on school grounds.

3 | Class Information and Expectations

GENERAL INFORMATION Class Changes | If you would like to make a class change, please visit www.ipsfacademy.org and download a class change form. If the change request is for a class of the same price, the change will be made at no additional cost. If the change request is for a higher priced class, the outstanding balance will need to be paid at the time of the request. If you registered during the early pricing period and want to make a class change after April 28, you will be assessed the additional fee associated with the general pricing period.

All forms must be submitted by 5:00 p.m.

Refunds | To request a refund, please download the refund request form at www.ipsfacademy.org. All forms must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. PDT on the deadline date. Refunds may be requested until Friday, May 26, 2017. All refunds from March 20 – May 26 are subject to a non-refundable program fee of $35 per class and may take up to two weeks to process.

After May 26, we offer 50% refunds up until the deadlines listed below: Session A and 9-12 Friday, June 9 Session B Friday, June 30 Specialty Camps* Friday, July 14

Waitlist | Classes that reach capacity during the enrollment period will have a waitlist. If an opening becomes available, you will be notified via email and given a specific amount of time to enroll online in the open spot. If you do not respond, you will be removed from the waitlist.

Scholarships | To request a scholarship, please visit www.ipsfacademy.org to download an application. Funds are only awarded to families residing in Orange County with limited financial means.

Scholarships are awarded for up to 50% of the class price and will be limited to two per student, good towards any class*.

DO NOT register for classes prior to submitting an application for a scholarship.

All applications with required documentation must be received by 5:00 p.m. PDT on April 21, 2017 via U.S. mail (1 Post, Suite 250, Irvine, CA 92618) or by fax at (949) 263-8343. Incomplete applications will NOT be processed.

Class Cancellations | To keep fees as low as possible, a minimum number of students must be enrolled for each class. If the minimum is not met, a class may be cancelled. Class locations may also need to change to an alternate school site. If either occurs, you will be contacted and will have the opportunity to enroll in an open alternative class or receive a full refund.

Flexible Spending Accounts | Receipts for all classes taken are available only after the completion of the program. Please email the parent’s name, student’s name, address, daytime phone number, school site, and classes attended to ipsfacademy@ipsf.net to request a receipt. *Excludes Camp Galileo, The Young Americans, and Family Bus Tours.

Class Placements | To develop classes suitable for a particular age and academic range, we specify grade levels for each class. Grade level placements indicated on page 1 refer to your student’s grade in the fall of 2017 with their corresponding SEA grade assignment. You may not register your child in a class outside of his/her upcoming grade level. Students in an incorrect class will be notified and transferred into a more grade-appropriate class. No exceptions.

No refunds will be offered after the deadline.

There are no refunds for outdoor classes that experience poor weather conditions or student dismissals due to behavioral issues.

SUMMER 2017 EDUCATION PROGRAMS

The Summer Academies in the Arts are college and career preparatory intensives for high school and middle school students in Art, Dance, Drama, Music, and Technology. The only program of its kind offered by a top university, the Summer Academies aims to enhance 21st century skills, support college and career goals, and build self-confidence and leadership.

Students get to experience life as an undergraduate arts major, in which they receive prac�cal and technical instruc�on in small classes taught by graduate instructors, professionals in the field and CTSA faculty. With rigorous college-level coursework, the op�on to receive university credit, social and professional networking, and even having the opportunity to reside on campus, this immersive summer experience is the perfect place for learning and development in a fun, challenging environment!

As UCI’s crea�ve laboratory, the Claire Trevor School of the Arts explores and presents the arts as the essence of human experience and expression, through art forms ranging from the most tradi�onal to the radically new.

Our interna�onal faculty works across a wide variety of disciplines, partnering with others across the campus, our na�onal-ranked programs in art, dance, drama, and music begin with training but end in original inven�on.

Our students come to UCI to learn to be ci�zen-ar�sts, to sharpen their skills and talents, and to become the molders and leaders of world culture.
