detected. The World Health Organisation estimates that over 50 percent of all medicines purchased through unauthorized online merchants are fake. Counterfeits are responsible for approximately one million deaths worldwide. As students and young professionals our education is on the state of the science. It is up to us to spread awareness and to inform the public and our colleagues, through campaigns, workshops and symposia, about the importance of using their medication wisely and taking it appropriately. I believe Medicine Awareness is a portfolio in which a pharmacist can serve as a life saver, but there still remains a huge capacity to improve the patients’ safety. Let us be vigilant listeners and understand each person individually in order to guarantee them the best and safest therapeutic care.
