Introduction To Pressure Transducers And Its Various Applications A pressure transducer (PT) is also referred as a pressure transmitter, is a transducer that transforms pressure into an analog electrical signal. Even if there are various types of PT, one of the most common device is the strain-gage base transducer. The conversion of pressure into an electrical signal is made possible by the physical deformation of strain gages. It is then bonded into the diaphragm of the PT and wired into a wheat-stone bridge configuration settings. Pressure applied to the PT creates a deflection of the diaphragm, which causes strain to the gages. The strain creates an electrical resistance change proportional to the pressure. Working Principle A pressure transducer is a device that measures the fluid pressure, indicating the force the fluid is exerting on surfaces it is in contact with. PTs find application in a number are used in many control and monitoring applications such as flow, pump systems, air speed, level, or altitude. To calculate pressure, the PT contains a force collector such as a flexible diaphragm which gets deformed when pressurized. This deformation, later gets transformed into an electrical signal. The various methods and shape of transductions are optimized in accordance to the process requirements that is being measured. Applications 

Maintaining pressure in beverage and food lines. Keeping the bottle filling apparatus with product is a major concern for plants and farms who deal with producing public drinking materials. Dairy and brewing applications make proper use of special sanitary pressure transducers. This is to measure the pressure in bottling lines.

It is used to monitor flow rates. Differential PTs are one of the most common ways to measure flow rates. The method needs a primary element, such as an orifice plate. This element creates a drop in pressure by creating a restriction in the pipe. The pressure drop is measured with the help of a differential PT.

To measure pump pressure. There are a number of applications where it is necessary to know the pressure a pump can create. The size of the pump will indicate the size of the PT required. For small or compact pumps, a micro PT can be utilized. For larger pumps, a regular PT will do the job. Although, in a large pump system, some concern out of a water hammer might arise, that can destroy a PT. To prevent such an issue for larger pumps you can shift the PT downstream to allow the force of the pump to even itself out before reaching the transducer.

Identifying a gas leak. To detect a gas leak, you will require a reference pressure to measure the pressure that is going into the tank. If the pressure decreases, the output will go up, which indicates a leak.

As you can see, pressure transducers can have a variety of applications. If your company requires a large number of these items, there are various online stores to help you with that. Resource url: https://bit.ly/2m0idCj
