s all steel fabricators know, preparation of the fabrication and its cleanliness is essential for painting to give long lasting corrosion protection. The question, though, is how to ensure the blast is uniform all over and that angles and welds are treated as well as the outside faces of the structure. Armed with this question, Plauen Technologie GmbH challenged Rösler to find a solution to replace their old equipment.

ome tutti i produttori di elementi in acciaio sanno bene, le operazioni di preparazione e la loro pulizia sono essenziali affinché il rivestimento applicato assicuri una protezione dalla corrosione duratura. Il problema, però, è come garantire una granigliatura uniforme su tutta la superficie, compresi gli spigoli, le saldature e i lati esterni della struttura. Per questo Plauen Technologie GmbH si è rivolta a Rösler, che ha raccolto la sfida di individuare per l’azienda una nuova soluzione impiantistica.
Rösler’s solution was a custom engineered roller conveyor blast system RRBK 34/16. The key factors for the decision to choose Rösler system were not only the equipment’s high performance and capability to handle a wide-range of parts but also its adaptability to be installed within the customer’s space restrictions. Employing around 200 employees, Plauen Technologie GmbH produces mainly steel fabrications for large industrial and civil installations including power plants and bridges as well as fabricating special components for the oil and gas industry for on and offshore applications and under water steel structures.
La soluzione proposta da Rösler è stata una granigliatrice con piano di scorrimento a rulli RRBK 34/16, progettata su misura. Il cliente ha optato per questo sistema offerto da Rösler non solo per le elevate prestazioni e la capacità di trattare un’ampia gamma di componenti diversi, ma anche per la possibilità di installarlo nello spazio estremamente limitato a disposizione. Con i suoi circa 200 dipendenti, Plauen Technologie GmbH produce principalmente strutture in acciaio per uso industriale e civile (ad esempio, centrali elettriche e ponti) e componenti speciali per l’industria del petrolio e del gas (applicazioni on-shore e off-shore e strutture in acciaio per uso subacqueo).
Its comprehensive services range from initial design drawings all the way through to painting and installation on location. In order to prepare the steel fabrications for their exposure to the elements and protect them against corrosion, they are either painted or powder coated. To ensure optimal paint preparation the often complicated parts must pass through a shot blast system where rust, scale, welding residues and other contaminants are removed from the parts’ surface. Matthias Zuckschwerdt, plant manager of the Plauen Stahl Technologie, explains: “After 19 years our old shot blast system had reached the end of its life and we needed a new blast machine that had to be fitted into the space of the old unit”.
L’azienda offre una gamma completa di servizi, dalla progettazione iniziale alla verniciatura e all’installazione sul posto. La verniciatura a liquido o a polvere è fondamentale per preparare queste strutture all’esposizione agli elementi e proteggerle dalla corrosione. Per garantire una preparazione ottimale, pertanto, è necessario granigliare i componenti, dalle forme spesso complesse, così da rimuovere ruggine, incrostazioni, residui di saldatura e altri agenti contaminanti dalle loro superfici. Matthias Zuckschwerdt, direttore di stabilimento della Plauen Stahl Technologie, spiega: “Dopo 19 anni, il nostro sistema di granigliatura era arrivato al termine della sua vita utile e noi avevamo bisogno di una nuova granigliatrice da installare nello stesso spazio della precedente”.
