ICT | Product Showcase THERMAL DEBURRING
ATL Anlagentechnik Luhden GmbH
Machines for thermal deburring At DeburringEXPO ATL will present machines for thermal deburring (TEM). TEM is a chemical reaction that removes production-related burrs. Workpieces are placed on a closing plate which is hydraulically closed with the deburring chamber. After that,
an accurately defined mixture of fuel gas and oxygen is fed into the chamber via the gas metering system that was developed by ATL. Due to the subsequent ignition, temperatures of 2,500 to 3,300°C are generated for a short time. This leads, particularly at inaccessible and internal areas,
to a complete combustion of all burrs within 20 milliseconds. The complete process runs automatically. Depending on the selected recipe, a deburring cycle could take as little as 30 seconds. ATL has been developing and distributing TEM machines since 1993. ‹

developed for an aerospace customer who needed to drill cross-holes into aluminum in places that were difficult to reach. BIAX has been manufacturing high-quality pneumatic and electric tools for the metalworking industries since 1919 and specialises in the development of solutions for the removal of burrs. ‹

ROBOTIC DEBURRING TECHNOLOGY
Heinz Berger Maschinenfabrik GmbH & Co. KG
Robotic deburring systems for the machining of die casting parts The production of workpieces with complex geometries requires a sophisticated deburring technology. Precise and defined deburring is decisive for the machining of die casting parts. Here, robotic deburring stations are employed which are equipped with rotating power tools
such as milling burrs and grinding pencils, grinding flap discs or brushes. The programmed multicurve contours are executed in the geometrical order. A 3D measuring sensor is integrated to calibrate complete workpieces or individual contour elements to check the position of the workpiece during
DEBURRING TOOLS
BIAX Schmid & Wezel GmbH
Probably the smallest pneumatic drill with angle head in the world With an angle-head height (90°) of just 15 mm, BIAX’s pneumatically operated BEW 309 E hole deburrer is the smallest of its kind in the world. It stands out for the fact that its special tool holder makes collets unnecessary and thus saves space. The company is now introducing a drill with a special
54
tool holder for the BEW 309 E that is designed to drill into soft materials in places which are difficult to reach. This special drill may be between five and eight millimetres long depending on customer requirements. It is available with a diameter of either 1.5 or 2 millimetres. This solution has been
