owder coatings contain no solvents: this is probably the most universally known feature of this type of industrial coatings. During the production, application and curing stages no pollutants or toxic substances are released. The powder: − has a degree of recoverability of up to 99% − does not contain heavy metals − is composed of 100% solid components − can be applied with a zero environmental impact. The only application constraints of powder coatings are the conductivity of the surface to be painted (since the powder coatings, compared to the liquid ones, can only be applied electrostatically) and the polymerisation at high temperatures. To fully exploit the advantages of powder coatings in the manufacturing industry, in the last few years the manufacturers’ R&D departments have tried to develop powder coatings also applicable to heat sensitive substrates, such as wood, plastic and MDF.

e vernici in polvere non contengono solventi: questa è probabilmente la caratteristica più universalmente nota di questo tipo di rivestimenti industriali. Sia durante la produzione, che l’applicazione che infine la fase di cottura non vengono emesse sostanze inquinanti o tossiche. La polvere: − ha un grado di recuperabilità fino al 99% − non contiene metalli pesanti − è composta da 100 % di componenti solidi − permette un’applicazione a impatto ambientale zero. Gli unici vincoli applicativi che la polvere presenta sono la conducibilità del supporto da verniciare (perché le vernici in polvere, a differenze delle vernici liquide, possono essere applicate solo elettrostaticamente) e la polimerizzazione a temperature elevate. Per poter sfruttare gli indubbi vantaggi delle polveri a 360° nell’industria manifatturiera, in anni recenti le attività di ricerca e sviluppo delle aziende produttrici si sono orientate a mettere a punto delle polveri che fossero applicabili anche su substrati termosensibili, quali il legno, la plastica e l’MDF.
