Our theatrical Organization was founded by all Black Females with a passion for African American theater in OverIndianapolis.thepast20 years we have committed ourselves to embracing female entrepreneurs by opening doors for women in theater that are usually denied. It is proven in the city of Indianapolis and overall, around the State of Indiana there are only a handful of Black Theatre’s with even less led by women of color. The Arts are an important vehicle in achieving racial equality in our lives that provide balance within our communities.

As we begin our 2022-23 season, we are grateful for where we find ourselves. We celebrate that we have grown stronger these past two years post COVID-19 and still going strong within our mission to increase diversity in performing arts. Our 2022-23 Show-Season is packed full of new and exciting shows, as well as some familiar favorites, which will keep you entertained up to end of December 20233 and beyond. We are grateful that our audiences begin finding their way back to us last season, braving the ever-changing conditions and evolving mandates to take their seats in the Athenaeum theatre in support of Black Local Theatre. We believe that theatre is a conversation; our dialogue depends on our audience—on you. You are a vital part of what we do; your presence makes a world of difference on why we do what we do in the theatre industry and our community. Our diverse and entertaining arts program brings you the best in theatre, music, youth programming, and live unstoppable entertainment in performing arts. On the musical front we’ve got the return of some popular productions, along with brand-new ones which we think you’ll enjoy. Our upcoming season is a celebration of the power of diversity and racial inclusion in the arts. The power of theatre is to inspire thoughtful dialogue, transverse life’s moments and to relish that connection is what our we share with the community, our staff and our cast.

We offer a full array of classes and programs to engage and inspire your child starting age 13 to 18.
The P.A.S.T.A Youth Theatre Program is structured to nurture the intellectual, artistic, and personal development of our student’s and help guide them through drama education, performing opportunities, and live theatre experiences. Given the opportunity, every child can shine! 6
