Humboldt Injured IHS grad receives diploma budget on target By JASON TIDD The Iola Register

HUMBOLDT — Humboldt’s budget is in good stead, City Administrator Cole Herder told city council members Monday evening. Through the end of May, 41.13 percent of the general fund’s $1.185 million had been spent, or $487,508. The first five months is equivalent to 41.6 percent of the year. The final graduate of Iola High School’s 137th graduating class received his diploma Tuesday in a special graduation ceremony. A second graduation was held in the lecture hall for Nate Streeter, who missed Iola’s May 22 graduation after sustaining injuries in a car accident May 20. Matt Kleopfer, Iola band director, and Madison Carlin, an IHS student played “Pomp and Circumstance” as Streeter and five other classmates entered the lecture hall for the ceremony.
