After graduating from Southern College of Optometry at Memphis, Tenn., Dr. Robert N. Smith established an optometry practice in Humboldt in 1985. In 1991, he purchased the Iola practice of Dr. Thomas Bumgardner. Dr. Smith provides comprehensive eye examinations, foreign body removal and treatment of eye diseases. The ophthalmology services of Dr. Michael Reynolds and Dr. Wayne Anliker are also available in the Iola office. Both offices are equipped with a full line of contact lenses, eyeglasses and accessories to meet all your eye care needs. We are now participating in several insurance plans including VSP, Superior Vision, Preferred Health Systems, Coventry and Humana Comp Benefits. Dr. Smith attends seminars and educational meetings throughout the year to stay abreast of the changes and trends in eye care. Staff meetings are held quarterly with representatives from the ophthalmic industry to keep informed of new products and styles. Dr. Smith and staff would once again like to thank their patients for their past patronage and let them know they are here to meet their eye care needs. Office hours for both offices are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5:30 p.m., although the Humboldt office is now closed on Wednesday afternoons.
