Bowlus Celebrates Milestone Kansas City Symphony Sept. 26 7 p.m. The Kansas City Symphony will kick off the celebration of the center’s 50th anniversary. The Kansas City Philharmonic was the first major performance in the building. Tickets were $4 — the same price offered for this special event, sponsored by the Sleeper Family Trust.
Bowlus Alumni Variety Show Sept. 27 7 p.m. This event will showcase the talents of the Bowlus alumni from the past 50 years. Tickets for the Orchestra are $10 and balcony is free. There will be a special guest art exhibit from Omer Knoll. Knoll taught for Iola Junior College and Iola High School from 1965 to 1978 and was the first visual arts instructor to teach in the Bowlus.
